What Do You Do When People Are Inciting Your Dogs To Bark?
becks replied to Narcissa's topic in General Dog Discussion
I wouldn't have the dogs in the front to begin with - what is wrong with the back yard?? I would also use a supersoaker and have a bad aim,, getting the person for hanging around the gate annoying he dogs -
and just how do breeders stop unethical breeders??
-
Going back to the OP, I thought Giardia was treated with Panacur wormer over a few weeks treatment, not with ABs.
-
The breeders section isn't for advertising puppies for sale, just to chat about breeding, problems, share puppy photos etc. It takes a few days or so for Troy to give access as he is a busy man!
-
i say name the company in the OP and let others enjoy the great customer service!
-
Just maybe they are busy looking after the litter and don't have time to chase up someone to correct spelling for them?
-
One of the first questions a new vet will ask is 'are you insured' as soon as you say yes, they want to run a whole series of tests. Say no and they won't 'need' to do as much - it's been shown happening on expose tv programs. I don't have insurance for my dogs, they won't cover what could be claims made for (ie breeding expenses - i'd need a separate insurance policy for that!!!)
-
I'm the opposite, I like them a little tubby when babies, so they have some reserves if they are ill, they soon loose it as they grow.
-
For pups who are still growing, I wouldn't walk more then 20 -30 mins but I do this off lead in a safe place where the pup can pick their own pace. I don't like to pavement pound my young dogs. Taking the pup out to new places to experience new things - eg go and sit in town and let her watch the people and traffic while you have a coffee can be just as tiring as a training session or longer walk
-
So she is what, 3 or 4 months old? Red and bulging gums are a sign the new teeth are coming up and the puppy teeth should be getting wobbly then fall out on their own. Keep checking the mouth weekly to see that the teeth are falling out and not staying put with the adult one alongside it.
-
I would say it depends on how big the open show was! An open show BIS in the UK for instance is numerically on a par with a champ show in Aus.
-
Some dogs always want more. So long as the pup is wormed, has a good covering over the ribs (but still able to feel them) then the pup is doing OK
-
I would just let him settle, perhaps keep him to just one room in the home so he can get used to just that for now (instead of having 'system overload' with so many new sights, sounds and smells to take in). Rescue Remedy may help him too. Offer him something simple like scrambled eggs to eat as his tum may still be feeling upset.
-
He's probably resigned to it staying on by then, sounds like he doesn't like wearing it.
-
If you go to the 2nd breeder, it would be a good idea to change clothes/shoes and wash inbetween the visits, so you aren't responible for potentially carrying an infection over to the other litter.
-
To answer the OP, most none dog savvy pet owners would expect a truely aggressive dog to be muzzled when out, a well trained dog who is under control won't be seen as aggressive because the pet owner can't see any proof the dog is DA

Yes, i have one Are we doing a college course for you??

meaning titles already on paper cannot be removed/altered as far as I see it. So you cant just change a Sch dog to a non Sch dog by changing all the original paperwork. also http://www.fci.be/circulaires/4-2010.pdf The ANKC doesn't use the breed standards for all breeds from the FCI nor is the show system run along FCI lines - there are no CACs or CACIBs won in Australia. What connection is there for the FCI - ANKC?
-
I'd answer it, you can find some good homes from terrible initial emails - people who have contacted lots of breeders and can't find a pup.

All Time Favourite Grooming Range
becks replied to Sagittarian's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
How do you make your own? Favourite brands - DeZynaDog, some Groomers products but the UK staff are so unhelpful I try not to buy direct!! Vetzyme Fidos seemed dreadful and plush puppy is over priced for what you get quality/effectiveness wise. -
What Do You Think Someone Should Do?
becks replied to SkySoaringMagpie's topic in General Dog Discussion
Trying to see as many relatives from the pedigree as possible, so you can track how that line has been developing, seeing where the strengths and weaknesses lie. Being honest about your dog and how she fits the standard and how this fits with the history of the breed. Try to broaden your views on the ideal dog - eg why do others prefer dogs of a different type? -
I always wanted a GSD but these days i don't like how they look anymore, so won't be getting one. Also loved Sibes and PBGV but will never have them as they don't suit my life style

A Dobe will leave a noticeable discharge on your floor (if they are anything like my giants!), particularly on seasons after the 1st one which tends to be lighter. It isn't rocket science to look after a in season bitch when there are no males in the home. Just take care about where you exercise her and don't let her out of sight whenever outside. Bear in mind, if you do have a safe off lead area, some do go a little deaf to recall when they want a boy!
-
The UK will now only recognise for showing, the title won in the home country of the dog (ie champion, not grand champ) and International title. There are many and various titles it won't now add to a dogs record when imported or shown in a different country.

Mini schnauzers are people dogs and very intelligent, they love company and using their brain - mine to obedience, showing, agility and tracking, they are not a good breed to leave at home all day, they can learn to cope with part time workers but full time gives them to much opportunity to destroy your house from boredom. They may also become barkers and cause a problem with your neighbours. How do you intend to house train and feed a young puppy 4 meals a day? I would suggest looking at an older dog in a more calm breed.
