  1. my last one had an injection on the day and the following day we started a 3 day course of pain meds. No whinging from her, she slept most of the day and back to normal by morning.
  2. tonight I saw a hungarian wire haired vizsla, couple of curly coats and a 'docked' cocker spaniel!
  3. The only fool proof method is to have the bitch desexed. i wouldn't trust my girls to be safe with that contraption
  4. komondor, bloodhound, pyreanean sheepdog
  5. White miniature schnauzers are born with pink nose, pads, lips etc and in the first week they turn black.
  6. O M G!! Congratulations!
  7. What a teaser you are, I need the photos now!
  8. mine love cow hooves and get them whenever we can find them not filled with who knows what rubbish!
  9. I don't shampoo the coat before stripping. The stripped area doesn't get bathed much as you will start to soften the coat. The areas most likely to fade are the areas you are clipping, back of the ears is often the first place to go paler. The colour will also fade from the legs, so these areas should also be raked through to keep some texture and colour.
  10. a weight or even pet restriction probably never occured to a Brit, we are more relaxed over having pets.
  11. They are not uncommon in the UK, there are always some registered each quarter, as can be seen in our breed records supplement.
  12. It's quite common and i have come across plenty of people who's dogs have had this, including my own 15 year old mini schnauzer. She had home nursing and took about a week to be mostly recovered from it.
  13. You shouldn't need a coloured shampoo on a b/s if the coat is genetically the correct colour (ie not fading to grey). The head and throat should also be hand stripped, not clipped as should the ears. If the coat is brown, then stripping out all the coat will get rid of that (unless it is related to diet or sunlight) I use a whitening shampoo on my b/s
  14. A friend of mine had her allergy dog tested and the results ame back that he was allergic to some veg along with other household/garden allergens. she sent me a copy of his test results and it was pretty amazing what was tested for and what he was allergic too - maybe this would be an easier and more time efficent way to help your girl?
  15. I had a pup of mine who had 2 chips fall out. Luckily she's a keeper so I waited a while and had her redone.
  16. Chips do move. It is also worth getting another scanner to find the chip, sometimes one brand of scanner can struggle to fid a chip, change scanner and the chip is easily picked up. Did the vet scan the whole dog or just go over the shoulders?
  17. Are you sure you only recently noticed the vulva was slightly swollen? it won't go back to the size it was before a first season.
  18. TM, why didn't you just shut the dog in the laundry with the back door open????
  19. someone puts together the info in a thread and asks troy to sticky it.

    Vet Bed

green backed is just the original vet bed. either are fine and work just as well. Only difference is I dry the rubber backed 'rubber side up' on the radiator.
  21. If they have managed to 'luck' into getting such a good dog you want to use, then yes I would use the dog.
