Aggressive Behaviour Between My 2 Females Dogs
becks replied to JADED81's topic in General Dog Discussion
Some evidence suggests that speying a bitch with a history of aggression can lead to further aggression. There are theories about why this might be the case, although causality has not been proven. Yes, I have also read this. -
What do you do to enrich the life of the dog you have now? Minis are clever and like companionship (a reason i never home them to people who work all day). if you don't do enough to keep him exercised in body and mind and then get a 2nd dog, you could just end up with 2 dogs who are great mates and want little to do with you.

I think lady eowyn is from lord of the rings
-
I'd also be leaving off the collar and coat as you say these are rubbing more hair off.
-
tripe keeps weight on my older schnauers. what do you feed? is your dog cold? has he lost muscle (it can start to go quite fast in old dogs)
-
could it be partly diet affected? I've known a black dog be 'red' after eating lots of training treats with food colouring. Once they were cut out of the diet, the coat returned to black.

my first thought was sleep paralysis like humans can get.

I thought so. Does that mean the breed standards are updated at the Aussie kennel club to reflect the law? How does that work? It means that we are no longer able to dock. atleast aussie shepherds have a natural bob tail gene, and it doesnt affect their conformation. full tailed aussies can still be shown, - but i couldn't really see them being exported with tails. Ok get ya. Understand about them perhaps not beng exported with tails. Docking is done very young isn't it - like 3 or 4 days old? There is no reason why full tailed dogs wouldn't be exported, there are many coutries that have a ban on docking and there are other countries who will happily dock an adult dog.

I match the colour of the dogs neck/throat to the collar, so it doesn't stand out. The lead part can then be any colour with/out bling

mikki is the brand for one of mine.

Your pup leaving home a few days early isn't going to emotional scar it for life! lol You have another dog living with you already, and that dog is just as capable of continuing the life lessons. I've collected a few dogs at 7 weeks and they are no different to the ones who arrived when older.
-
As the others said, it's all over, no need to worry about it now.

There are thousands of staffy breeders in the UK contact the kennel club for a list of accredited breeders and go from there - it will be much cheaper and easier to do this and you can take mum along to see the litters. http://www.the-kennel-club.org.uk/services...rier.findapuppy just click on the geographical areas you want a pup from, there are 2 litters listed for northern ireland atm. You could also go through the UK or Irish KC to find the local breed clubs and ask about puppies/breeders.

Wait until all vaccs are completed and then take the pup for a couple of turns, it is a long night for a young pup and they don't need to take part in the full class. However, taking a crate along and letting them get used to the sights and sounds is a good idea.

I would worm the pup now as there is no reason to believe this has already been done by the producers of the pup. Softened food, warm water would be fine to do this. A little tinned food, mince or tripe added will make the food more appetising. Feeding 4 times a day at this age. Bed placed somewhere cave like so he has a safe place to sleep, maybe with a toy in there and hotwater bottle if it is chilly. Daytime spent somewhere in with the family so he can socialise to the household noises. Allow plenty of sleep time without being disturbed.

same for the mini schnauzer, they like to be with their people and are a little to intelligent to leave alone all day. Plus as said before there is the clipping to keep on top of

Born in a whelping box in the lounge next to the window and heating, surronded by a playpen which is covered in sheets to give the bitch privacy from the other dogs. Base of the pen is a plastic tray (same as in crates). Older dogs are allowed to visit when mum is happy for them to do so. Pups are in with all the household noises from the start and are handled and weighed daily in the first couple of weeks 9or until I am sure they are gaining weight properly). When old enough they are moved to be free range in the kitchen and outside access is available while i am at home, otherwise they are in their lounge room pen to keep them safe

On my bed, on the sofas and at night the younger ones get crated
-
I'd say it is worth the risk (or at least a fair swop!!)
-
are the results up anywhere yet? Anyone know if results from the circuit shows are available anywhere?
-
Do you think that would work for my boy who ends up with Brown areas where he rests his head ie. when he curld up his head rests on his legs and gis legs get stained. I'd try the contact lens solution on his legs.
-
I also use the scissor style ones, cutting the nail from back to front (going side to side will still squeeze the nail a little)
-
For outside studs, I take the bitch for 2 visits, 2 days apart. If using my own dog, then they can have one mating a day for as long as they are interested. I think it is attachment of the placenta, not how many matings/days apart that affect puppy sizes in the litter. litter sizes of 2 - 8 for mini schnauzers. (the 2 litter was a whoops mating that was going to be done 6 months later, so the timing may have been off with that one)

As a ex treasurer I would meet up with the show sec about a week after entries closed and we would go through all the entries,, checking the correct amount had been sent in and then I would bank all the cheques, so that any bounced cheques could be made a note of and the exhibitors would have to report to the show sec on the day before being able to compete (in the UK we get our numbers on the day, so bounced chques would have to go to the sec to get the umbers, instead of at the ring)
