  1. I would have no problem if someone wanted to offer double for pick, provided it wasn't my choice of pick of litter!! However, it does make me wonder how the dogs are treated if someone is willing to throw money to get 'the best' what happens to the ones who don't quite make the grade?
  2. i would be checking the ears first - are they plucked, clean, wax free? Anything in there that shouldn't be? Is he scratching at one ear or both? Frontline won't stop fleas jumping onto the dog, just kill them once they are on the dog and this can take a bit of time, not instant death! So seeing a flea is not unusual. Flea allergies tend to be based around the lower back/tail area.
  3. I find panacur more gentle on the tummies, even if it is a bit of a pita doing it 3 days running, it still only takes a couple of minutes to dose the litter. I'm surprised it isn't licensed for dogs - as it also treats things like giardia and lung worm alongside the more normal wormies
  4. I tell mine to only have pups when the vets are open, just incase! Hope all goes well with Kayo, doesn't seem five minutes since we were all following the litter she was born in.
  5. yay pointees! Are you expecting any solid colours in this litter?
  6. I use Panacur, don't know if you can get it over there?
  7. and sadly it has seen some of the GOOD breeders give up on that breed
  8. Starting with a social group, you may find there is a mix of skills within that group that could be developed into other activities at a later date.
  9. She may be keeping herself clean and you won't see any blood, I'd be keeping them separate if you aren't sure about how far she is into the season.
  10. Why wouldn't I be allowed to take photos of a dog on my property?
  11. skip tooths do a rough cut for getting the length off but still need tidying up afterwards. Used to get off a matted coat before a bath F blades do a much neater job, especially on a freshly bathed coat.
  12. I've got a Uk and Irish champion PBGV coming in soon for a groom, if you want a comparison!
  13. The irresponcible will ignore the law anyway, so it wouldn't really change things.
  14. if you don't want him sedating, just tell the vets to stop, if they can't manage him and not sedate him.
  15. nope, didn't work for travel sickness. Even tried spraying it onto a bandana and having the dog wear that for awhile before getting into the car. Best thing was lots of short trips in the car and for longer journeys using a proper travel sickness pill. He can now go more then double previous distance before being sick and is starting to volunteer to go into the car.
  16. A piece that size you can 'just' fit into a front loader but I don't think it has the space to wash properly, especially when brand new (i'd give it a couple of washes anyway to remove any of the loose fluff. You could always cut the pieces in half and use 2 in the box. I change every 2 days at the start, then at least daily once pups are starting to get mobile. It washes and dries so fast, it's no problem to do.
  17. Questions from me as this is the best close up photo I've seen for quite a while... :D lol, just wanted to get the thread back on track! :D I wondered how long it would take you to notice! Has she been heavily stripped or is that her "normal" coat? She was stripped right down a couple of months ago and brought back to me as some of the coat was starting to fall out without help. Owners trims off the beard. When the coat is left to grow, it does have a good texture and a paler colour. How old is she? umm, about 2 now. What is her prefix again? Eldonmere
  18. not the best stack shot as she has never been ring trained
  19. Sounds like you have 2 issues to deal with, crate training and Emmy who can't cope with being on her own. Both need working how. How much time do the dogs spend apart, doing different things? Once she can cope with her own time, she wll be happier to go to her own crate
  20. just the area around the stitches dry. I tend to leave dogs who have had surgery alone for at least a week, give their body a chance to recover fully from the anaesthetic etc before I start messing with them.
  21. Resco brand combs are good. Plenty of choice in sizes and they are well finished with rounded teeth
