You said you thought I was refering to Yogi, I was just correcting that assumption. -

Does that make him an unworthy winner? .......He wasn't retired at all, had just won a BIS a couple of weeks ago I think becks was talking about the 2008? BIS winner. You really are taking this too much to heart. don't think so, I'm not a mind reader, thought she was referring to Yogi I think so!! That's why i said GIANT in my post :D -

I know nothing about this case so can't comment on it specifically. Speaking generally as someone involved in show admin, it's nice to see a KC taking this kind of thing seriously. It happens here, and while most judges are ballsy enough to deal with post-show bullshit, it still needs to be dealt with firmly by the controls providing they have sufficient evidence to go on. Someone who tries to bully a judge isn't going to hesitate to attempt to bully a fellow exhibitor, club official or administrator. Being a secretary I often see what happens after a show. There is bugger all point going up to a judge after the fact and being pushy about the fact that they dumped Gr Ch Kafoops Foobar or whatever. Firstly, the judge gets a catalogue, and secondly, get over it. agree (stop posting what I am thinking SSM, or I will become one of those people who only ever posts "me too" ) Interesting though that the KC didnt manage to discuss the case until just after Crufts had finished .... Friends in high places maybe? Or an amazingly lucky co-incidence. Love too that he knew already that he was going to win BIS (if he got through breed and group). I wonder if the General Specials judge was investigated too? They brought the Giant out of retirement to win BIS at Crufts because they knew he would win (breed, group and BIs judges having all given him a BIS prior) I'm sure the amount of shows Yogi has been to, his owners will pretty much know who will pput him up. Does that make him an unworthy winner? .......He wasn't retired at all, had just won a BIS a couple of weeks ago Hello!! I said GIANT as in Giant Schnauzer, Ch Jafrak Phillip Olivier who won Crufts a couple of years ago, I mentioned him as it was a similar scenario to the one mentioned about Moray expecting to get a BIS the day he won the RCC instead. I made no comment on whether I think either dog is a worthy winner or not, I have seen both in the flesh but have never been hands on. -

Seriously, you are starting to appear a bit silly now. They are two completely different threads. Yogi's win - great, fantastic. I saw it on a news post and thought, "Nice to see a HV win", nope didn't post in the congrats thread... I also don't post on birthday threads, on 'what is my dog' thread and hmm...about 5 million other threads that are on DOL. The co-owner making a tool of himself and being reprimanded. Yep, it happens to lots of people and should happen more often too. He is being discussed simply because he's "high profile" for now. Nobody in this thread said a single thing about the dog or the breed, merely that he's a co-owner then suddenly you're in here telling people off because they didn't offer congratulations to Australian connections but they will have on opinion on something other than the dog's win?? Go back to the start and read your posts. You almost look a little unhinged telling people off about having an opinion that they are entitled to have. and no, it doesn't take away from Yogi's win. I'm another who thinks the dog is a very nice dog but if the owner did indeed do as the article says, he most certainly is a bit of a twit and people will naturally discuss it. Ashanali get in and give me a serve too Who did I tell off? Don't need to read my posts I know what I have said What did I say that has caught your interest? I'm unhinged...thanks..I didn't tell anyone off. He is not an owner or even a co-owner! I am not defending this man!!! (for the 100th time) Why do you all come on and say what a tool he is and then have a go at me? we have established that he did wrong, I just mentioned in passing there were not a lot of congrats.......no big deal, the point that captured the Vizsla people were the one or two posts where the Judge of BIS at Crufts 2010 integrity was bought into question which was very unfair on her and Yogi's win, nothing else matters Yogi won, he deserved his win Mr Armstrong did wrong he deserved his suspension I spoke up because a couple of people questioned the Crufts BIS judges' integrity and thats where Yogi was linked to it all, not fair I didn't see any mention of the integrity of the BIS Crufts judge, there were some comments in regard to the expectations of Moray from the judges at a prior show when he was expecting to get BIS with yogi. -

Depends on the judge! I know a few people who have won CC's because the puppies were let loose!

We had a lady at Crufts showing in a totally covered in silver sequins jacket.

What Do You Offer To New Owners Of Your Pups?
becks replied to mr.mister's topic in Breeders Community
I don't offer a guarentee as I can't second guess mother nature. I do all I can with regards to health testings and finding the right combinations of dogs. After that, the pups leave with 8 weeks worth of insurance and the new owners are encoraged to keep this up. I am there for help and advice and will take back a dog at any age. -
If you are leering over the top of the area of an approaching dog, some my not want to approach to close, but you can always stand up as the dog gets closer, so this isn't an issue

i would block her access to the stairs, sprinting up and down stairs is the last thing you want her doing with a bad leg.

Garlic To Keep Fleas At Bay?
becks replied to all that glitters's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
My dogs get a mint based herbal supplement for fleas and it certainly seems to work - if I forget to add it for awhile they pick up fleas, start it again and the fleas leave home -
I'm happy to show health test results when people visit the litter, i also send a copy in the puppy pack.

I see no problem if a judge wants to get into a better postion to view the dogs movement, it's something I do sometimes. The only time it has been a problem was when my dog jumped into the lap of the judge for a quick cuddle!

The green carpet is lethally slippy if you have the wrong soles on your shoes, maybe he was like this so he could move the dog safely in the ring! As for the outfits, over here we have the attitude that it is more of a 'it's about the dog, not a fashion parade of bad taste bright suits!' Hmm, when I showed there in '05 the carpet didn't seem that bad. A lot of people did wear sensible & safe shoes that were attractive. I'm glad the junior handlers all dressed up and looked professional, tidy and perfectly framed their lovely dogs. I guess we'll just never agree on what looks good at a dog show on the humans. Yes, it's about the dogs, but that doesn't mean the handlers need to look like they just rolled out of bed, threw on some grubby jeans and dirty runners. I've shown there for many years now and have seen some people take nasty falls while moving their dogs, I've seen some dogs struggle with cornering on the carpet and having feet slide out from under them. As for the group outfit, you often see people who thought they would do well get changed for group competition! :D Yes, Natalia was wearing the same outfit last year with the Giant, although this year showing giants she wore a blue and white outfit.

I guess this is where my head is at. I don't agree with that reasoning. Guide dogs are expected to work and not go off and play when they want. They are still supposed to have free time and be allowed to play with other dogs if they wish. Training teaches a dog when it is work time and when they can do what they want. I don't get the rational of not allowing a dog who wants to play, to not be allowed to play, just incase he finds that more interesting then 'work'

No mention of yogi winning BIS?? I thought you'd all be pleased with him being born in Oz! 'Havasneeze' No, they don't film the breed classes/BOB judging, you can only see the BOB for the breeds when in the group ring. If your breed has no classes (what is it??) it may well not have a BOB. There is actually an assortment of BOB judging videos available on YouTube at present, e.g. Bearded Collie It's just a matter of searching and hoping that the breed you wish to view is there.... I was talking about the official filming, not just what some spectators have done. 'showdog' I think it was fascinating to see i believe all 4 colours awarded cc/rcc BOBmale black/silver RCC male white BCC bitch black Rcc ?bitch ?salt/pepper BCC p/s and RBCC black BEST OF BREED FIN CH DJAKARTAS ISN'T IT Dog Owner: Ms O SELIVERSTOVA BEST PUPPY FUNFLASH CHINOOK Dog Owner: MRS E HIGHLAND BITCH CHALLENGE CERTIFICATE BRUMIST SIMPLY MAGICAL Bitch Owner: MR M G & MRS G M WISE RESERVE DOG CHALLENGE CERTIFICATE MULTI CH ESPRIT IN WHITE VOM HELLA-HOF [ATC AK00904DEU] Dog Owner: FRAU B KUSTURIN RESERVE BITCH CHALLENGE CERTIFICATE GLORIS X-MISSION Bitch Owner: Ms O SELIVERSTOVA

Crufts used to be shown on the BBC until the Pedigree Dogs Exposed expose. It is no longer available on TV now and as Showdog said, can only be viewed via live streaming or their radio station. Videos are also uploaded to YouTube. Crufts is being shown in the UK on More4 tv channel, same sort of program as the BBC did, so it may get sent on to other countries as previously. Those videos will be uploaded to YouTube. They're usually pretty quick at putting them up. All the breeds? They haven't shown my breed ever - that I know of, anyway!! :D No, they don't film the breed classes/BOB judging, you can only see the BOB for the breeds when in the group ring. OMG how long will it take for the keyboard to dry out! I really did LOL a few times!

The notice about using products on the dogs at Crufts was sent out with our passes for the show. There are a lot of international exhibitors who are more likely to use dyes and other products in the coat, the notice gives them fair warning of the rules (nothing new about these rules!). There is always negative publicity about Crufts, but hey - it's makes for great advertising and ticket sales for the show and reminds the public the show is on soon!

Hopefully the vet will have a careless member of staff who happens to let the dog escape (into the car of the breed rescue!) -
Ear-gluing - A Different Question Than Stitchs
becks replied to Trisven13's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I've seen a lot of Crestie puppy pictures recently that have taped ears, done so they stand up. Ears don't really bother me if someone has trained them into position or not. There are plenty more serious things people do (like altering a dogs bite) which to me is a lot worse. -

I just don't get why the woman is being like that. -
Wire coats offer good weather protection, the undercoat keeping them warm and the hard coat keeps the weather out. Left alone the coat will grow to 3 or 4 inches and then fall out on its own. Stripping the coat keeps it neat, and helps to show off the texture better.
