i wonder if you use the database and then the suggested stud dog and go on to have health problems with the litter, would the KC be open to being sued? -

Laser Lites No More Stains - Anyone Used It?
becks replied to BittyMooPeeb's topic in General Dog Discussion
have you tried using a whisk to mix it in better? -
This was discussed recently in the show section of DOL

I've never got on with the single sided ones.

Do you cut front to back or side to side when trimming?
-
Make sure you are using the clippers correctly and that they are sharp enough, the clippers maybe pinching his nail before cutting it.

i also use a whitening shampoo on my black giant and my b/s minis. Black shampoos will only work if they have dye in it and that is against show rules!

those on facebook can get the results and videos of breed judging posted in your news feed.

My mini and giant schnauzers love the cow hooves, had them for years and the teeth are fine

Ahhhhhhhh I didn't think of that! It's possible (now, where's that winning lotto ticket!!). The fact that I have accom. in NYC makes it that much cheaper & easier. there would certainly be plenty of BTs for you to watch!

When all else fails, turn your dog in a circle, brushing against the nose of their dog - appologise in a loud voice and comment on the lack of space to stack your dog 'I'm so sorry, I just didn't see you soooooo close behind me' I have done the moving forward thing only to have the team behind follow me forwards!

make it a longer trip and fly on to the UK to see Crufts the following month!

westie girl Also I hope you realise that not all the dogs you work on will behave like your own dog, you will get dogs who get stressed easily, those who will snap and bite, sometimes without warning, dogs who none stop fidget, dogs with matteed and dirty coats, owners who have different expectations to what is actually possible. On top of that is it back breaking work and being self employed you don't get paid holidays or sick leave, also think about how you would run the shop if you became pregnant or had an injury that would take a long time to heal. A lot of people think the work is easy and the day is spent playing with cute puppies. As was said before, it also takes the fun out of grooming your own dogs. if this is a job you want to get involved in, as others have said, go and do the course and then look at working for someone else for awhile to gain more experience and have help on hand for the times you get in a new breed or you aren't sure what the client wants you to do. also go to dog shows and see the correct way the breeds are presented, this will help you to provide better pet trims that will still retain the breed character.

I've never had good results from shampoos suposedly designed for coarse coats. Try bathing as early as you can before the show, even if you have to walk the dog on lead for a day or 2 water down the shampoo as much as possible before you apply it to dog and rinse off asap. I use a whitening shampoo on the show dogs, if i bath their bodies before a show, as this seems to keep the texture better then other shampoos I have tried. Other then that, can you roll the coat on your dog? i find having shorter coat coming in underneath helps the texture. When judging, if i find a coat that i think has been 'enhanced' then it will get treated by me as if the coat is soft.

;) ;) Had my mind on fire there for a while Dito and i wondered why your girlfriend prefers to sleep in the bathroom!

i've always used royal canin puppy food and not had sloppy poos. I would be worried if pups were producing yellow bears who eat honey though!

Having had a few pups cords chewed off so close there was no way to stop the bleeding, I now take the pups off mum and tie and cut the cord and give pup a quick rub to make sure they are OK then back with mum. I do this next to her so she can see the pup the whole time.

don't forget to report back on what is said, for those of use who can't make it!

I would say to get the sex you are happiest with, whatever you get, the first dog will be the one you learn with. show you are keen to keep showing and learning and you are more likely to get a better dog in the future. You don't have to breed with the first dog you buy!

Online entries for shows are so much easier, especially when the sites send you reminder emails when the main shows are closing the entries!

We can do this in the UK, last litter was registered on a saturday night and the papers arrived on the Tuesday! makes life so much easier!

How do you mean the dog is 'somewhat aged at 9 years'? Are you just refereing to his age or to his health, that he looks and behaves old?
