also check the dogs nails, see if they want trimming or filing. Puppy nails can be very sharp too

Now I've bought a new camera - are we having the monthly challenges again next year? I've really enjoyed them, even if i haven't taken part in most, it has been a great way to learn and to encorage me to go out and try different things.

Dog Keeps Taking Bandage Off Her Foot.. Help

good news! -
It was about £7 for me, so that would be about $14 each??

Took my boy on a pretty horrid jpourney at the weekend - lots of snow and ice! He had a Cerenia tablet and this time I also dosed him several times with Rescue Remedy and he was much happier (and a little merry!) by the time we got to the destination.

Don't forget to tip the groomer next time then!

I leave them with litter and mix with adults as normal, then once the rest of the pups have left, I keep up the same routine until the pup is big enough to keep out of trouble. if you are worried about bitch fights, feed separatly, watch toys, don't leave them alone especially when going out. After that is is a case of seeing how complementary the temperaments are.

Dog Keeps Taking Bandage Off Her Foot.. Help

Use an elizabethan collar of correct length so she can't reach the foot at all -
http://www.beanara.co.uk/apps/photos/photo?photoid=62880894 I tell my puppy buyers that I love the cute photos but also like the stacked shots to get a better idea of how they turned out. The above link it to a photo I recieved this week, not bad for a first time stack by a pet owner! To give them the idea of what to do, I stack the dog and get them to take a photo before they take the pup. They also sent a lovely email telling me how she has settled in with their other dog. Shame the breeder of the OPs dog is missing this.

They look exactly the same to me!

Come and join us in the schnauzer thread (there is a breed section just above general, as a sub forum) Don't ask a groomer if they can groom schnauzers - they will lie and say they can! I have had to repair a lot of bad grooms done by other groomers who had told the owners they knew how to groom a schnauzer (OK they are physically able to do grooming but not the breed specific trim!). Breed clubs, your breeder (who may have contacts near where you move to) and other schnauzer owners would be the ones to ask where to go (and not go!)

I've used Cerenia on my car sick dog and he travelled fine with it for 1.5 hours on a motorway trip but as soon as I got him out the car he dribbled out a huge amount of saliva (all down his legs as we got to the show!) so it certainly isn't a cure all but does help. This dog is normally sick within a couple of minutes of car travel. He also had a DAP collar on, to see if part of it was stress based. With my old girl, being further forward in the car, lots of bedding to ease out car vibrations, slowing right down for corners, not feeding on day of travel, rescue remedy have all helped.

I have a 16 month olf Fujifilm Finepix camera that has now come up with the error message 'zoom error' when I try to turn the camera on. I'm thinking that sand has got trapped in the zoomie bit of the lens and stopping it from working (note to self to check pocket for sand before putting camera in it!) So, is it worth trying to find somewhere to get it fixed? Or would i be better off to buy a slightly better camera in the same price bracket?

I would let her have maybe a small drink part way through and not let the dog exercise to the point of needing to load up on water. At the end of the walk, another small drink, if weather is hot, otherwise I like my dogs to cool off before having a drink.

Is it really so time consuming to take a couple of photos and email them to the breeder? Maybe if you could do this, the breeder will be happy and you can part ways?? Is it really so much to ask? It isn't like the breeder sold you a second hand fridge, breeders put their heart, soul and wallet into raising a litter, a little bit of respect for all that hard work to produce you a nice pup and you can't even be bothered with a small courtesy :D

Don't panic! I've groomed a dog with this condition for all of his life and it was never a real problem. Just keep the coat clean and well groomed. It is similar to blackheads in the skin.
-
I have found the majority once they have been shown the correct way to care for the coat are good and do keep the coats in decent condition from then onwards. I had a mini in recently, in 12 months he has been to a few groomers and neither them or the breeder had shown them what tools to use and how to use them. I showed them what they should be doing and recieved a lovely email a few days later saying how well the brushing was now going with their dog.

Lots of liver in the diet can cause spondylosis. Is it all along the spine or just in one section?
-
Just use a grooming spray to slightly damp the coat before brushing

get your dog to follow a reward (food or toy) beneath something that they would need to crawl under (with smaler dogs you can get the to go underneath your legs when you are sat on the floor) as soon as the dog hits the decks, then you reward.

a friend has a BC whose ultimate reward is to do heelwork!

One Year Vaccination And Check-up
becks replied to poodle proud's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
You said she was 1, but she will be 1 for the next 12 months, the people there aren't to know if she is just turned 1 or nearly 2 unless they check what you have told them.
