That's OK He really is a speshal looking dog, I think he is quite inbred. Nothing medically going on, his heart is good and his sight is fine, just prone to tear stain. The amount of pain he would have had losing his ear would have been incredible. Fortunately no collateral damage scarring on his cornea. He has no tail at all and a 'xylophone body' lol. He may be a bit wonky but he's such a sweetheart. If you meet him in real life, he's a lot more symmetrical. lol He squints his eyes in every photo but this one might give you a better view of what he looks like when he isn't. I wish I could work out how to get his zoomies photo out of my phone. He's just a blur of what looks like an airborne rabbit. LOL. and one of massive sunshine squinties ...

Lovan for dogs; does it have to be dispersed?
_PL_ replied to ricey's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
How long would treatment be before you start seeing changes? I have a dog here who went from pound to a home, put on Lovan, surrendered to another pound where he was weaned off and then adopted out again then given to another shelter. He is absolutely lovely and fine mostly but his separation anxiety is strong. My question would be, given his timeline I calculate he only would have been on Lovan for a month before being surrendered again (I assume for his anxiety). So would it be worth trying it again for a longer period? When I've given it in the past, it didn't work but it was a lot longer than a month before deciding nothing was happening. -
Oh dear no, they aren't supposed to be like that at all.

I honestly don't know, she may be very busy these days. Like corvus said, if you need to raise funds for a behaviourist I'll chip in too. IMHO if you can ultimately keep her with some work that's ideal. -

I'm not suggesting you pass her on, but Rita at Chi Rescue Vic has been around for about 30yrs and could very possibly be a good source of breed specific information. Couldn't hurt to add add her advice to your tool kit. She just might know something that will help. I'm really sorry, it's a difficult situation to be in. My question was in regards to hydrocephalus behaviour changes. -

Just curious. Does she have any strange compulsive behaviour? -
What’s the biggest issue facing rescue in 2018?

Yes. 'All they need is love' bugs the crap out of me. -
I don't doubt pro-retail Pets Australia are gleeful. At the very last MDBA event I attended I had an (award winner btw) gent try to hand me the PA bosses' card. We rescinded our membership after that. https://petsaustralia.org/the-big-issues/pets-in-pet-shops/

Kellyville also sell rescue cats. A token gesture.

Nobody with the authority is interested in closing places that don't break the POCTAA and local council bylaws. So if you build a nice shiny facility within the welfare recommendations/Acts you are free to keep and breed as many as your permit allows without anything to stop you. It was inevitable given the grotty places are being closed/raided, the industry still needs livestock to sell.

Awful for everyone involved.

Sorry to dredge up an old thread but they've just hired a Bequest assistant -
Is she using it per kilo or putting the eg 4kg tube on a 2kg dog? or the 10kg on a 5kg dog. I find the measurements really scary when it comes to dosage and have talked my mum into splitting a 4kg between 2 chi. I split it up, per kilo and have had no reactions for years. Only reactions I did have was skipping a meal or localised rash, nothing behavioural that I noticed but maybe advocate is just too much chemical for a wee body. Has she tried revolution instead? or just plain advantage for fleas?

Should we get another dog now our dog is 14 ? And what breed
_PL_ replied to Christina77's topic in General Dog Discussion
We lost one of our retirees this week. George the Foxhound. 15.5yrs His carer is devastated but has already said if the right one comes along she would do it all again. Bless her. There's something so special about seniors. -

Wonderful! -
I've not had a deaf youngster in, (seniors yes) so I'm not much help but I'd try Australian Deaf Dog Rescue and ask for some advice. They see more deaf dogs than anyone I know. And you have the advantage of her being young and readily trainable using hand signals.
