Yes that's really bad. If it was a member group they can be reported but there is pretty much no regulation in rescue so even if they lost membership you can't stop people from doing that kind of crap. Makes everyone look shonky but it's very real and if I was an adopter I'd be bloody careful who I went to for a dog. -

I'm not a vet. But I've had experience with a hydrocephalus pup with the behavioural/neurological symptoms it presents. I can only suggest you do some reading and quiz your vet.

https://www.gladstoneobserver.com.au/news/rspca-says-no-to-accepting-more-animals-/3347717/ RSPCA centres across Queensland have received an email ordering them to accept no more cats and dogs until further notice. The email was sent by CEO Mark Townend and confirmed by an RPSCA spokesperson this afternoon. The spokesman told The Observer that regional centres were full, Wacol had a two month waiting period and there were 1440 animals in RSPCA centres across the state. He said the direction was an opportunity for carers to spend more time with the animals currently in care, that needed more help. The direction comes after a statewide Adopt-a-pet push by all RSPCA animal shelters, which sold dogs and cats for just $29 last weekend. The Observer understands Gladstone vets have not been paid by the RSPCA's head office for their services since last November.

Consumer Law here in NSW (google your state) means you offer a refund or replacement. That's all. He doesn't get 'repair costs' meaning dogs are the same as if he bought any other property from you. He can threaten small claims court but don't be bullied. I'd also try to make sure your communications aren't always verbal. Either email, sms or voicemail as he may cross over from demanding to harassing and it's good to have proof if you need it. Keep records of your phone conversations. Your chances of getting the puppy back by legal means are virtually nil so the best you can hope for is that he accepts the refund and returns the pup.

Try the breeder. Or YP Puppy Rescue? Good rep from what I understand. Can't guarantee they take surrenders though. Some can't as they have their hands full with pound dogs.

From other thread; Purebred Cav.

Rehoming Your Pet As above, if your dog is a purebred we may be able to point you in the right direction. If you need rescue for the dog, there is the rescue section but all advertised dogs must be desexed.

breed standards . 'deformed' Brachy breeds
_PL_ replied to persephone's topic in General Dog Discussion
Years ago this thread would have gotten people banned. I'm glad judging and deformities can finally be discussed. I agree it's not about designer dogs. But feel the need to point out that breeders are selling their rejected purebreds to byb. Dogs so ridiculously wonky they shouldn't be bred or crossbred from at all let alone by people with NFI. Deformities and health problems are kept in circulation and passed on down the generations outside the registered orgs. It's up to the ANKC to pull things back into line for the sake of all dogs not just their 'own'. -

No mention of the actual rescue involved? -
Just a comment, no real help but we've had great results with Apoquel. Really good. Expensive but if your vet will write a script you can get it online much cheaper. As well as poultry free diets for dogs with food allergies. Read the bag carefully but I resorted to home made because chicken seemed to be in everything. Roo went straight through! But lamb or fish was fine. Z/D prescription diet did nothing and was a waste of money. Had to be thrown out.

Broke-arse Rescuer Located in Sydney NSW Available for interstate adoption. Adoption policy; Flexible We're seeking adoption for nice if not a bit bitey rescuer. After 15 years of work, she doesn't need a lot of exercise and is on joint supplements to help her creaky knees. She's well house trained and somebody obviously loved her before she came to us. A working breed; ideally, we need her a nice safe job where she can rescue but not really. I mean kind-of. Not actually touch the rescued animals anymore but maybe pose for photos with them. That would suit her down to the ground. She's easily bored and will have a hard time settling on just one task at hand. She will want to be everywhere all at once. Internet, newspapers, events, off-colour fundraising. All that good stuff. No heavy lifting of any kind. She'll be helpful with self promotion and attending industry events. Loving a pat on the back. She's an indoors human and must have full access to to a nice new office at all times. Must be paid an unseemly amount of money. If you're a self appointed (but not self funded) flagship charity considering adopting, this is your gal. Look forward to hearing from you. Cheers. -

Bargain. How do I get adopted by the Bishop family? -
Britt's Pet Taxi does distance driving. Dog Movers may go that way too but I'm not sure if they offer door to door.

Feed her what she will eat. It helps if it's made fresh, not from the fridge. Feed her what she wants and the day she refuses even her favourites is the day she has had enough. I've had acupuncture done and sub cutaneous fluids to help with hydration (wellbeing). But unfortunately though, there is no holding back kidney failure and it can take them away from us very quickly. I forgot to add. A popular kidney failure meal has always been freshly cooked in the non stick pan. Human grade mince, egg white and cooked sweet potato. Made into little meatballs with farex to bind them. Carbs, quality protein, fibre and fats, not a 'recommended' diet though. Just a tasty one. But subQ fluids really help with appetite too.

I'm no help. Just spoil him. If he's interested in food ... we give the old folks little tastes of everything. NikNak's favourite is a bite of peanut butter sandwich. Nothing special, just breaking the rules of not feeding people food. I know he hasn't got long, his liver is ..... old. He gets prescription diet but it's not tasty. We've got some IQ puzzles for the oldies to keep their minds active. They like those And it's fun to watch them work things out. Liver is too rich so we pop lamb puff in the puzzle instead. Beta blockers / dementia meds can assist, might be worth a try.
