Honey's expected behaviour was snooze 90 percent of the day, wake up n go outside to toilet, then hoon around the yard at speeds that defied belief, didn't even slow doing turns, scared the daylights out of me first time I saw it, the ease she could have snapped a leg was obvious if a leg hit an object, clothesline post, trampoline leg etc, she never did, but the danger was there. Never lasted long, minutes only, they sure are sprinters only. Then back onto her lounge n resume her regal pose n snooze time again I have only seen ones like her, not the ones you describe, although could easily see how the ones trained in the videos realeased would be that way

Unbelievable, I've found lost greyhounds n the most cool calm collected breed on the doggy spectrum. Want see HIGH prey drive go watch a jack Russell n foxiin action, the Greyhound is asleep majority of the day n not looking for a hunt, as for a significant number I've met, don't even chase cats, in honey's case actually afraid of them. Her breeder trains his to chase their toys. She wasn't even chasing the lure in her race's she was flying to her reward, her toy her owner was waiting in the catch pen in his hand. One race the lure broke down and the owners of the two dogs that stopped with it wanted it declared a no race, but it wasn't because all the rest of the field ignored it and flew to the finish and catch pen for their reward. Honey won all five of her race's before retiring. I bred cavaliers at the time and every one who came to buy or view a cavaliers left so impressed by honey had decided their next pet would be a Greyhound She was bred and trained by my daughter in law's Brother

just spotted this exchange on faceplant? Legion DX SydneyLike Page 18 August at 08:26 · Following the release of our RSPCAFail video earlier this week, Legion DX Sydneymembers and supporters will be staging a protest today at the RSPCA Sydney site. Our aim is to be a presence for ALL the animals failed by the RSPCA including the recent Lakesland Hens from our attempted open rescue with NSW Hen Rescue. We hope that by demonstrating a show of solidarity with the animals and confronting the public and any people attending the shelter with the reality of the Rspca, that animal rights will be pushed into the public consciousness and thereby influence social change. Veganism is the new moral baseline and if you're the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to animals you should be advocating a vegan lifestyle not mandating slaughter. It's time for the RSPCA to stand down as an animal welfare organisation and to demand an independent commission for animal rights to be on the agenda. Via The Animal Project: The RSPCA NSW failed the Lakesland hens, and how many others? Especially through their "RSPCA approved farming scheme" which offers minimalist and vague "welfare" standards. Maybe it seems counterintuitive to you? Animal rights organisations protesting a purported "Animal Welfare" organisation. Don't you have bigger battles to face? The answer is no. No we don't. Because when the enforcement of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act is entrusted to a group who promotes "humane" slaughter at a fraction of an animals life, "humane" forced impregnation and "humane" abduction of babies ... We have a huge issue. Because when the enforcement of a CRIMINAL act, enacted to offer PROTECTION to animals, is entrusted to a "charity" with clear conflicts of interest - through their approved farming schemes through which they gain MASSIVE FINANCIAL BENEFIT ... We have a huge issue. Because when the enforcement of this act is entrusted to an organisation who, according to their annual reports, pursue only 0.06% of cruelty complaints ... We have a HUGE ISSUE. RSPCA, you have blood on your hands and treachery in your hearts, and we are telling EVERYONE. ------ Stand with us today and if you're unable to make the event Share the video below, stay tuned for our LIVE streams and let's show the RSPCA that we will continue to hold them accountable for their failure. Manage Deb W It's the Animal Justice Party, l won't be supporting them EVER but isn't it amazing how many enemies the rspca are making these days!!! ManagJess A Yes, I find it amusing that other AR groups even hate them lol

transferred from the thread I adopted a dog and now the owner is asking for him back? Posted just now · Report post Problem is many in this demographic are who rspca get the calls about (frequently by neighbours who don't want animals near or next door) and the damage they do to their minds can be terrible, it too has a name,' learned helplessness', so many of them don't even have scant knowledge about animals, just watch their tv show if you doubt that, how much of it goes to air without embarrassment beats me, as for the infamous Waterways Koala heist. they haven't a ghost of a clue about the damage done to the people they traumatise in the process of doing their job. be interesting if there were statistics done of the percentage that suicide after a visit from them v the general population. recently one came to a property after a neighbours dispute over the shared fence, inspected the chook's, praised their owner for their beautiful condition, happy with the size of their run, but was not happy that they did not have free range during the day, the owner explained the area has a high fox population, to turn them loose would mean most would be slaughered before nightfall. To be told, "then stay with them and shoot the foxes" the owner is 81! besides the risk of only wounding the fox, or a stray shot hitting a motorist, (anything can happen with a rifle and his vision isnt what it used to be)start shooting in an urban area and the police would be called anyway. rather than see them killed to placate the rspca inspector, he gave them away. they where his delight and his grand kids loved to come help him collect the eggs and take them home. He is now in deepening depression, already has ptsd to deal with. people skills, ZERO As for telling their owner to let them free range in an area where there are so many foxes they will be killed if turned loose surely is not "prevention of cruelty" surely? pretty dreadful way to die.

A few years ago I took a litter of feral kittens to animal welfare, I had trapped them in a airport carry cage along with their mum by feeding them in it for a week to get them to go in to it and putting a string on it to pull it shut, to my astonishment the girl opened the door, it was amazing. They took off like rockets and pinghed all over the place. but they never refused to take them when I brought them in, think she must have been new and didnt realise how wild ferals are, once the cats were out of the bag so to speak, the rest of the staff did a wonderful job catching them and dealing with them, so I recommend to anyone to go to animal Welfare. took a dog I found injoured recently and they took him in immediately and were very caring

The results to the people involved even though they don't know it can be life changing. permanently life changing. In my case I ended up in Nepean Hospital, pretty much hysterical. the doctors there decided I had Bipolar so spent the next 14 years of my life being drugged for what I finally discovered after being referred to Dr Faber when despite the drugs to control bipolar seemed to be making things progressively worse. He realised I had PTSD and that was only because he had many ex military clients. We are well aware war destroys so many who left home perfectly fine, how on earth can someone who has never seen war or been in combat end up like this, he told my husband I was as badly affected as his worst cases who were unable to leave their home without someone with them. I thought once I knew what it was, that it would like Rumplestiltskin it would go away. it didnt. not until I read this forwarded to me by a friend did I finally begin to understand why. or why "get over it" wasnt working either How many tens of thousands of pet owners rely on their pets to cope with this without having a clue what is wrong with them at least now returned soldiers are allowed and encouraged to have a therapy dog. how many others are unconsiously doing the same? Yet they are powerless to keep their pets safe from the rspca. https://www.afom.org.au/images/research/V.93-3-Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Sethanne Howard and Mark Crandalll.pdf

Although there is one major change. This topic would never have been allowed existence 18 years ago What hasn't changed is the "where there's smoke there's fire" is applied to any who speak up that their animal has been taken. Even when it's returned with out any charges, even when its returned suffering pneumonia, torn trachea and so dehydrated his vet had him on a drip within minutes of arrival at his own vets. He had None of the three conditions he now needed treatment for when he had disappeared into their control 13 days before. Yet was still told that only weeks ago, even though it happened in 1999, speak up and face the negative consequences still today Actually the title might be better as fear? Than hate. Although having met one of their inspector's recently, apparently they are not allowed to accept any offers of food or drink due to the risk. Sad state of affairs.

Google Leon Mills ex public procecutor's recommendations to parliament, that was 2010. Its even in the Hansard, as for the politicians actually paying any attention or implementing his recommendations. Don't hold your breath, something is seriously rotten in our politicians. Just about every word of this article below, even though it is written in England applies here. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-3590931/Yes-MoS-s-victory-RSPCA-sweet-let-tell-sorry-NOT-enough.html After I went public about the theft of my dog Stringy, found people began contacting me with their stories, although the day one of their employees arrived sobbing at my door unable to cope with the realisation he had put still living albeit sedated dogs into the incinerator, he had almost finished when he picked one up by a leg and felt a strong pulse, after checking the remaining dogs that had been "euthanased" found all over medium size were very much alive reported to the vet in charge and told "don't worry they won't feel a thing" queried why are they still alive to be told," if we fully dosed them all we would go broke " He had signed a none disclosure agreement banning him from disclosure of anything to do with his employer. I know he never did, nor did I as I feared them too, but someone told the papers some weeks later so it did become public record. Not far from 18 years later still totally unaccountable or avenue of appeal even under consideration let alone implemented

Help pls- Luxating Patella (WA) vet suggestions?
asal replied to Tinkzwa's topic in General Dog Discussion
As my vet pointed out he can slip them out while a puppy is young, to operate on a seven month old cavalier as one vet did, not knowing my vet had already thoroughly checked her is nothing short of criminal. Then her new owner tried to make me pay for the surgery, never even contacted me prior or she would have learned that she had been thoroughly vet checked before I sold her, she was robbed, the poor puppy was robbed of the right to an arthritic free middle age. He had removed her cartlidge down to bone -
The problem is the ankc's have rolled over to the animal rights mobs, the rules they have made were never done on the advice of repro expert vets. Be careful we are being monitored on all fronts By saying this will probably get me another letter in the mail warning me I have made a criticism of the ankc and have received one warning letter this year . been a member since 1978 this is the first one I have received, even though for decades I kept saying, select for health over show fashion since 1979. Fell on deaf ears until the screening of "Pedigree Dogs Exposed" the writing was on the wall for decades, no one took any notice. Today we have no rights anymore, its toe the party line or else. Even if you don't know what is or isn't allowed either apparently? Mind you there was no information as to what or where, whatever I said had occurred? Or any information to advise me how many transgressions in future will get me kicked out. Or even what is banned from saying? Didn't even bother to tell me what I had said was the cause of the first warning. Big brother is watching. we are no longer members of an organisation that we have any control or rights to question big brother, that letter I received proved that. How many of you are aware that a recent board meeting decided all members who bred ten litters or more last year will be inspected? no routine checking of all members, just target one group. I was astounded to learn how few of the 33,341.00 australia wide members actually breed ten litters or more. Only 86 Breeders AUSTRALIA WIDE ( 1.3%) had more than 10 Litters I think I posted it somewhere but forget where. food for thought keep this up and there will be so few purebred dogs IN TEN YEARS maybe less, will qualify for the endangered lists very soon http://ankc.org.au/media/6598/a-forensic-view-of-puppy-breeding-in-australiav4.pdf

Love greyhounds, so many are natural born lounge lizards. The catch with TB'S is any with St Simon 's temprement are only fit for racing and dangerous even for their riders for that, as one writer of the time said, when he became a leading sire his progeny were so hot, their riders had difficulty keeping their mount on the track, but when successful were so fast invariably won. Sovrango, sostunuto and Village square progeny were noted for this, I owned Darmack who was so hot the only race he deigned to finish broke the track record at Wyong, I bred Garthowen boy, so hot although rugged from birth was still hard to rug as a yearling, ran in terror from leaves on a windy day, won many races though after I scotched the plan to make a show hack of him as I had planned, thinking it was being trained for racing that fried their brain, he proved that theory wrong in spades

A baby became very ill and the hospital worked out it was oleander, when her bedroom was examined they discovered oleander pollen on the window sill, the marks of her fingers could be seen where she had played with it and must have sucked her fingers, so all parts are poisonious, the pollen of Paterson curse is too they have found the toxin in the honey, few know that, although Patterson's curse like fireweed is accumulative unlike oleander one dose of can kill

Ah goats, they can be guaranteed to eat the plants u value n not touch the weeds you would be pleased if they eradicated. Came to the conclusion their aim in life is to so enrage you you strangle them with your bare hands, while they look at you lovingly think the intention is so you feel guilty for the rest of your life As for drench resistant worms, they seem to all carry them so constantly changing drenches to keep them safe from the mongrel worms Anglo Nubian are the worst for that, sweetest most affectionate worm magnets on the planet

My vet once made the comment, "their gradation certificate is their permission to now learn at your and your animals expense" After I had told him what a newly employed locum had told me when he ignored my request to only vaccinate my chihuahua puppies with half a ml of the vaccine not the full ml. He then gave all four the full dose and told me any that cannot tolerate the recommended dose are better off dead as it culls the weak from the gene pool I asked him, "what about collies and Murry grey cattle? Many of them are ivamec intolerant, his solution, dose them all n eliminate all the susceptible. As I recall the problem came to light when a herd was dosed and next morning only two were still alive! Considering a great Dane puppy weighing twenty times more still only gets one ml, that's idiotic. Three were dead before I arrived home, the fourth survived 13 days as her immune system n internal organs shut down, their mum's last and only litter of beautiful bitch puppies Can hope fate culled him from the gene pool too. He was fired but little compensation

Oleander is a killer one and a half leaves, even dead and dried will kill a horse, as is any plant that exudes white sap. Can't remember the symptoms, but only chance of saving them is multiple blood replacement until out of the system and can still die
