Boxer dog and compatible breed companions

the problem with frenchies as my niece has discovered, he can get very overheated quickly outside on a hot day, our hot summers really distress many, some, as a friend found, Her grandmothers boy died, if they do not have access to air conditioning. Another Friend has English Mastiffs and he said if he doesn't get home and put out frozen mats for them to lay on if the temperature goes over 110, even in his air conditioned house?, he can lose one if he doesn't go home and do that.. He said the toughest part is finding a job were the boss who will let him without having a hissy fit -
gee they are wonderful photos

Think you will be thrilled as I am, to learn today that one of my Puppies won best in Group at the same show as my brother showed Misty the first pup of that breed to carry my prefix, to Best Puppy in Show in 1984. so excited for her and her happy owner, I don't breed for the showring, but for sound look alikes to the dogs I had known from childhood. almost all my puppies go on main register (unless I consider its not a true representative of its breed then it will be limit registered) but 99.9 only want them as much loved pets and I doubt a dozen have ever seen a showring or bred from in the intervening decades, although last year one won 8 best in shows for her happy owner.

I love standard poodles, my mum had Tillbrook Le Aigleon or something like that, I remember she said she was named little eagle in french, that was 1971 awesome amazing girl. mum loved to spend hours grooming and clipping her and Tilly just loved to lie there and be pampered for as long as mum took to get her looking beautiful, she was always in a lamb clip. her most noteworthy incidents aside from empeccable manners and obedience was the day a lady door knocker spotted mum in the back yard and let herself in and tapped mum on the shoulder. mum got such a fright she screamed, Tilly was off that grooming table so fast the women didnt know what hit her as tilly knocked her to the the ground and stood on her for scaring mum. She became legend the day she was spotted stopping my friends son from getting into the pool, he and nicked outside without anyone noticing he was missing. first time he did we heard him crying and found him at the foot of the stairs with Tilly holding his arm and would not let go until his mum picked him up and took him inside. half an hour later it happened again. we all wondered why Tilly was doing this. but apart from slobber on his arm there wasnt a mark. also we decided to keep a closer eye on him and sure enough out the door he nicked again as soon as he though we werent watching him, down the stairs and straight acroos to the pool, in those days no one had to fence their pool. to our amazement, Tilly who normally would be the first into the pool with you, went straight to him, grabbed his arm and pulled him back to the foot of the stairs and kept him there crying and screaming for his mum as before. somehow she knew he was not safe in the water, (he was only 3 and couldnt swim very well yet) I am sure many standard poodles are just as kind, gentle and incredably smart, just like Tilly What few people realise is they are just as protective of their family as any cattle dog too. although most people who see a cattledog on the other side of a fence wouldn't enter under any circumstances without the owner there. would go in if it was a poodle standing there instead and get quite the surprise when it gave them the "whats the password?" look . My cousins would steal anything they got their hands on and I learned very quickly the only way to secure my bedroom, (which did not have a lock on the door) was to quickly put a lead on my poodle Pickle and tie him to the leg of my bed so he had complete control of the area at my door, He never let them in and his low growl would tell me one had sneaked off to raid my room as we entertained their parents. as for him he just knew so many tricks and games , will miss him to the day I die. as much as we do Tilly. loved them to bits, it was the hours of grooming they needed to be kept to their best that I stuck with the original breed my dad always had from day I was born after old age took Tilly.

one of my puppy owners, well hes no longer a puppy by now, but she was writing her thesis for her Phd. he elected to be her foot warmer soon as she settled at the desk for typing sessions as well as research. Also a uni lecturer so many happy hours keeping her company while she organised lecture notes and marked assignments. so some breeds are great companions when working at home,

MDBA now registering first generation crosses?
asal replied to Maddy's topic in General Dog Discussion
Notice that the cause of the destruction was selecting for the show ring? Sadly the common denominator. Although unlike the dog world those who choose to continue to old, "Un" improved stock don't find fellow breed societies members calling the rspca to harrass the "farmer", well so far Suspect once the dog fraternity are disposed of other breed species are next "pedigree horses exposed" already has plenty of fodder for inclusion already -
MDBA now registering first generation crosses?
asal replied to Maddy's topic in General Dog Discussion
Clydesdale x Throughbred can have some unexpected outcomes Well remember one at a riding school belonged to Mr Sonter the master of the Sydney hunt club in early 70's Tb head and legs, Clydesdale neck and body. His legs Looked like matchsticks under that massive body, very striking boy. Was still leading the hunt ten years later As others have said many crosses between breeds bring out the best in both in many instances. The Anglo Arab being particularly good, bred and seen many outstanding examples. Sunvally Serene by Fabius, bred by Syd and Mabel Mobberly, Westward Roseanne by Marion Alcorn's Abdullah. Tamanaco,by Fabius from Hedge borough, supreme exhibit 1971 Liverpool show. 1700 entries. all three won Supreme exhibit between them at many shows Another mega winning duo the brother and sister pair Abigail and Midnight Cowboy by Ralvon Aeneas from Lady Fortune, swept both the Anglo and Open rings as well. How many remember the almost unbeaten Maluka? On average 16 or less bred any one year but massively successful in open rings -

rurual pug, you do not understand the the genetics of blue, there is an elle that some blues carry and some dont. the weimarinar for example is an all blue breed that the elle connected to the blue gene alopecia is not present. without genetic testing for that elle you have absolutely no idea if that new blue pup carries it I had two full brothers , one never developed blue gene alopecia, the other did, it can express in a myriad different ways , in stringys case he was only short coat along the top of his tail, along his back and to the beginning of his shoulders. so he had a huge ruff and normal long coat everywhere else. I have seen others as bald as a mexican hairless. until there is a dna test for it your best hope is look at dogs that are blue with no sign of it and whose pups do not, I suspect it is a recessive rather than a dominat but I am guessing. no body knows if the gene is linked to the blue gene or just cannot express unless the puppy is blue, there is much to learn google scids inheritance, its a recessive and can carry for generations before a boy in a plastic bubble baby is born, good luck with your brothers search

Thought this might be an old posting but checked, its release date was 18 May 2018 (USA) how on earth could that be released for children? Its from a site called /foreverymom.com Grooming Alert: Do Not Take Your Kids to the Show Dogs Movie The Show Dogs movie contains a dark theme that can send kids a very very harmful message about who is allowed to touch their private parts and when. By Jenny Rapson Share on Facebook Pin on Pinterest I’m usually very up on the kids movies that are coming out because I love to review movies in this online space for parents, but the past few weeks have been mind-bendingly busy for my family, and I completely missed that a new kids movie called Show Dogs came out this weekend. The premise looks cute, so I’m glad I missed it: at any other time I probably would have seen an online trailer and just taken my seven-year-old with me to see the Show Dogs Movie when I watched it for my review. Turns out, it appears the Show Dogs movie has some problems. After what I’ve learned about it from another parent review, I am SO GLAD my son did not see this movie. Let me explain. Terina Maldonado, parent reviewer for the Macaroni Kid website DID take her kids to see an advanced screening of the movie as part of her job with Macaroni Kid…but she came away with some seriously BAD feelings about the movie. I’ll let Maldonado explain in her own words. It all started out fine, she says: It’s when Max the police dog learns what he has to do to truly go undercover and be accepted as a legitimate show dog that the trouble with this movie starts. WHAT does Max (and apparently all the show dogs) have to submit to? Having his private parts touched and inspected. Yep. Maldonado continues: Max, of course, is NOT cool with this, and when his partner Frank and a former champion show dog try to get him to accept this process, a certain dark and very dangerous theme for kids emerges. Maldonado explains: Max needs to get it together, see, and LET PEOPLE TOUCH HIS PRIVATE PARTS, or he might lose the competition and fail at his mission to rescue the kidnapped panda. Do you see what’s happening here? Max’s success is riding on whether or not he lets both his partner (for practice) and a stranger (the competition judge) touch his private parts. IN A KIDS MOVIE. WHAT??? Newsflash, folks: THIS IS CALLED GROOMING and it’s what sexual predators do to kids! It gets worse. Maldonado describes the movie’s dramatic dog show finals scene: So a stranger touches Max’s privates and it MUST feel good because Max has gone to his happy place while being fondled. UMMM. NO. Maldonado saw the movie with not only her kids, but her husband and her mother too. After the movie, all three adults felt uncomfortable with the “private parts” stuff. She says: Maldonado then goes on to mention that she is a survivor of child abuse, and describes how she will talk to her kids about the movie and that part in particular and use it as a lesson to instill in them they lessons she’s already taught them about how “we never let anyone touch our private parts, what they should do if anyone tries.” How the script and premise for this movie EVER got approved scares the CRAP out of me! This is 100% indoctrination. I will not apologize or care if anyone thinks I am crazy for thinking so. This is letting a movie of funny cartoon dogs teach our kids that hey, “sometimes ya just gotta let someone molest you.” NOPE. Parents, do NOT go see the Show Dogs movie. And please share this so other parents won’t make this mistake before they know what’s up. The message here is WAY beyond inappropriate — it’s downright DANGEROUS for our kids! ***

http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/news/law-order/sa-dog-breeder-fails-in-supreme-court-bid-to-have-23-seized-pomeranians-returned/news-story/fd930b3ec0c1874e027d7b7b6a4f61e0 not sure if the link will open? SA dog breeder fails in Supreme Court bid to have 23 seized pomeranians returned Nigel Hunt, The Advertiser May 21, 2018 3:04pm Subscriber only A MID-NORTH dog breeder has lost a Supreme Court bid to have 23 of her prize pomeranian dogs that were seized by the RSPCA returned to her care. Breeder Dora Ryan — who claims she has been unfairly targeted by the RSPCA following complaints by rivals — launched the unusual action after disputing her dogs were seized legitimately by inspectors. But while Chief Justice Chris Kourakis said Ms Ryan “appears to have a strong case’’ for the return of her pomeranians if she attended to some care issues — such as flea infestations and minor dental hygiene — he declined her application. Ms Ryan, whose property is at Baroota, in the mid-north of the state, is facing trial in Adelaide Magistrates Court on 28 charges of ill-treating an animal. She also faces a charge of hindering or obstructing an RSPCA inspector and a person assisting — by locking them in a dog holding pen. Besides the charges, the RSPCA is seeking orders that any animals still owned by Ms Ryan be surrendered and that she be banned from having custody of any animals in future. The charges stem from a raid on her property in May last year when the pomeranians, four german shepherds and 23 chickens were seized by inspectors. The german shepherds were destroyed because of age-related arthritis and all of the chickens, except two that died of causes unrelated to the way they were kept, were returned. Breeder Dora Ryan with one of her pomeranians. Picture: Supplied While inspectors seized a large number of dogs, another 15 german shepherds, eight great danes and 12 pomeranians were examined and left at the property. Several subsequent visits resulted in the RSPCA issuing Ms Ryan with notices to ensure large pens were cleaned. Ms Ryan, who is seeking almost $100,000 in compensation from the RSPCA over the seizure in a civil claim, told The Advertiser the pomeranians were “her family’’ and denied they had been mistreated or neglected in any way. “The RSPCA’s own medical reports state the dogs are healthy and not underweight,’’ she said. “They took my girls from me, what does that tell you? This was done only to stop me from breeding. “My animals are my family and life and also my occupation and income.’’ Ms Ryan said she had been successfully breeding dogs since 2007 and complied with all council regulations. She had also imported 12 dogs from the United States in 2014 that had rare colours and breeding lines compared with Australian pomeranians. In his judgment Chief Justice Kourakis noted a medical report by RSPCA veterinary surgeon Dr Emma Clough, who examined the dogs the day after they were seized and found all dogs had achieved a Body Condition Score of 4.5/9 or above, with two achieving a 6/9 score. Chief Justice Kourakis said veterinary surgeon Dr Roger Absalom supported the return of the dogs to Ms Ryan. And another veterinary surgeon who examined the seized dogs after they had been in RSPCA care for five months, Dr Michael Adams, said in an affidavit that seven of the dogs had mild dental disease and five had moderate dental disease “generally consistent with age’’ and he also supported the return of the dogs to Ms Ryan. “The intervention of the RSPCA in a case in which the pomeranian dogs were ‘adequately healthy’, their BCS in the ideal range and were described by Dr Smart (a vet who accompanied inspectors on the raid) as adequately healthy, is surprising,’’ Chief Justice Kourakis said. The criminal case, before Magistrate Maria Panagiotidis, is set for a directions hearing next month.

I tell my puppy buyers its a great place to have a family day out, picnic and meet fellow dog lovers and if your lucky come home with a ribbon. Sometimes even a trophy and prizes. But if you go hoping to win your not going to have a fraction of the fun you could have

New Amendments to the Puppy farm and Petshop Bill Victoria
asal replied to bluedeer's topic in In The News
was only thinking about this yesterday Moosesmum. The KC's are actually contributing to their own demise. they have not recognised the AR agenda is their elimination. They have wasted decades trying to appease the unspprsdable. they have outlawed normal practice that any interview with preproduction specalists would have told them not to agree too. they have wasted hundreds of thousands in legal fees when they decided to refuse the committee member Mrs Furbar's requests to view KC files which she was perfectly legally entitled to view. on the gounds I was told, that she was wasting staff time. So I think the sum being asked for to pay for the legal battle that ensued was some 800,000? As the lady in question had legal aid on her side she not only went to court but won. Yet when facing their elimination by the inroads of the AR lobby they roll over and hope the savages will go away. better to have spent the money doing the same advertising of purebred dogs and their breeders to educate the public instead of leaving the field to only one version being fed to the public and media. The other they have failed to do is stop the belief among the membership that only those who show are good people. the persecution of the members who love their dogs but not the show scene has been a disgrace for decades left unaddressed. more calls to the rspca about members come from fellow members than the general public by a landslide. The KC's are yet to address this problem their own members are more a danger to the continuation of the KC's than the AR mob. It is not a sign of virtue to never sell a puppy on main register save what you keep for yourself, if those before had the same opinion you wouldnt have your dogs remember. there are not two classes of dogs and puppies there are three, Pet quality, breeding quality and show quality. how many today are even aware of this anymore? precious few from what I hear today. from experience I know 99.9% who want a puppy want a pet. that teeny .1% is the one who is so thrilled with their puppy they become interested in continuing their dogs genes and want to breed it, they becomes a KC MEMBER and continues the legacy of the past. The KC's did a survey decades ago and discovered few remain members past 5 years, of the few that become long term members and the backbone of the membership are pensioners, and pensioners have long relied on the puppies they bred to contribute to their meagre pension. to deamionise anyone who breeds for the pet market is to destroy your potential membership base. this has proven beyond doubt over the past 20 years now hasnt it. just read the figures. of a nation growing by the millions per year in population the membership and the number of purebred puppies bred had been in steady decline and will continue to do so if no one wakes up before its too late. When that tiny .1% cannot access a main register puppy unless they jump over all the hurdles now in place to eliminate all possible unethicals that is in place now the majority don't bother. who is the loser? the genetic base of the breed for starters it is illegal to discriminate a person on the basis of race or creed, but the dog world has made discrimination into almost an art form -
with good reason, don't forget 18 years ago when I tried to tell people what happened to my dog I was not allowed to say anything about them or be frozen from posting here. I am amazed these threads are allowed now. But they have become so sure of themselves more and more are learning the hard way to fear them. Sadly the reality is they will send her bankrupt regardless of if she wins again, look at the murry grey stud example, ten years to win the case and compensation awarded and not a cent paid. If it cost the rspca 7 million trying to win what did it cost the winner? You need massively big pockets to fight the Goliath. they still turn up and check me out, one day they will decide todays the day and that will be the end .. Until the day dawns there is accountability and avenue of appeal made law, the only choices we have at present is if we decide we love our pets and have pets you do risk being destroyed or forego having any live animals, just have fluffy toys. the stress was so great when my dog was taken ended up in hospital doctors told me I had bipolar, drugged me stupid. it took until 2014 and after I forget how many psych's, I had been referred to Dr Faber he realised it was PTSD, totally different treatment needed and unfortunately just like bipolar its permanent, (remarkably the damage done by extreme stress can be seen on a MRI) but at least now know what is wrong, Weird to learn its not just war vets to get this, but now many are beginning to learn there is a war going on in this country, its just that it's a secret one. whats one of the best to help someone with PTSD? assistance dogs, that who, cant wait to seize? One chap in SA had his taken as did another (It was WEARING its Assistance dog vest) forget where at the moment.

Interesting observations from a new source, expect there will be many before a royal commission into the rspca ever gets started. Destroying Someone’s Reputation Calling RSPCA is a great way to ruin someone’s reputation. To see constant visits from the RSPCA and having horses seized, people see that and think there must be something to it. “She has had several visits from the RSPCA she must have done something”……. It just needs someone/or more who have the intention to create pain, all they have to do is make a “report” to the RSPCA and have a local inspector keen to support that. When all this started on 7 February 2017 Marji had absolutely no idea what path she was being forced down. The RSPCA - Your Choice We do not want to prejudice the evidence or an investigation. Whether you think the RSPCA is a wonderful organisation or someone thinks it is an evil organisation, one would hope that you will want to see truth and justice. Whatever your opinion of the RSPCA I hope that you will believe in our justice system and that Marji should be able to plead her case in court to have her horses returned to her and her innocence of neglect and/or cruelty. She says “I will welcome my day in court and will enjoy that everyone else will have to attend and testify under oath. Hopefully, no-one will be able to crawl under a rock. I also hope that it will be very public and the RSPCA and their cronies, will be forced to look everyone in the face”. Let’s hope that “Yardahgate” becomes as famous as “Watergate”. While the campaign is live, we will try to give updates every couple of days. Marji’s Manifesto. 1. I will fight for justice for myself and others. 2. I will fight for my reputation. 3. I will fight to protect my animals from people who want to harm them. 4. I will fight to bring the murderer of Foggy accountable and what caused the injury of “Horse”, if possible. 5. I will fight to get my horses back before any damage is done to them by the RSPCA. 6. Any donations excess of the costs in this fight, will be donated to the Cancer Council. 'No man in the wrong can stand up against a fellow that's in the right and keeps on a-comin'. Captain Bill McDonald Texas Ranger Marji says “as my reputation has been tainted I have videoed the animals and the conditions on Yardah. Sadly, it is not as nice as it was once due to “life challenges” and the season but I do not consider that any of these horses are/or were in any way at risk. To suggest that I have been neglectful or cruel has pained me to the core.” Marji has many years of video on You Tube that shows happy horses, achieving beautiful, classical training that has always been done with the relationship and mental and physical well-being of the horse as a foundation for her horses and those of her students around the world. https://www.youtube.com/user/Yardahstud Confront the Immorality Please support this campaign. It is only by someone being prepared to confront the immorality, that this will cease. The RSPCA depend that they have unlimited funds and the normal person simply cannot defend themselves. The advice to Marji was to “just roll over” but she is not that sort of person. She has always stood up for the vulnerable and fought injustice- whether it has been hers or another’s. Since Marji was diagnosed with cancer, she has experienced the support of the Cancer Council who are doing so much wonderful work for people. We all know that cancer is a possibility in families. Any excess after the costs of fighting the RSPCA and associated investigations, will be given to the Cancer Council. Duck Soup It seems that people in U.K. are having the same problems that we are having here. In U.K. it took 11 people, a riot van, 2 police cars to take 2 ducks which were free to leave at any time. Marji Says “If we win, and the RSPCA are forced to pay for what they caused, there will be a lot of money for the Cancer Council; if not, I will have to face the horror that is being presented. I have had an amazing journey and been part of the lives of so many people around the world. After realising that I am not “bullet-proof” I have been organising my legacy as I want to leave behind my knowledge and ideas. It is taking a bit longer due to this debacle. https://www.gofundme.com/yardahgate

Do dogs ever die peacefully in their sleep?
asal replied to sandgrubber's topic in General Dog Discussion
Trouble is today as your dog gets to the geriatric stage anyone spotting it is a risk they will phone the grim reaper (rspca) heard so many stories of devastated familes having their aged pet taken and euthanased 'for its best interests', make sure that you keep them out of sight of Joe public. Our very aged Indi died in his sleep, I hope his equally aged granddaughter has the same privilege, she sleeps so soundly could qualify as sleeps like the dead -
Dont forget blue mountains residents bought and built their kennels along with buying two retail outlets to finance the running of the completely self funded facility, Their BIG mistake was asking rspca to badge it. Demanded ownership. Once done have sold the shops n absorbed the money into their coffers then sacked all staff with intention of selling now no income premises, residents mutinied, not sure what the ultimate outcome will be for the facility or the residents rights who build it
-
exactly, the mums and dads are far too tolerant. the worst cases of hemotoma ears are from puppy hanging off a parents ear. I agree with the no leaving home before 8 weeks and sure took long enough to be illegal to sell an unvaccinated pup. as I would say to anyone who wanted their pup not vaccinated, "what? you want to buy a dead pup? I can tell you it will be dead if its not vaccinated and I can tell you distemper and parvo are an awful way to die. if they don't die, distemper leaves them brain damaged anyway"
-
by 7 weeks or in the case of those pups 3 days short of 8 weeks, mum by 6 weeks is usually sitting on top of her kennel for some peace. I love it when people ask me, The poor mum she must be so sad to see her puppies leaving. by 5 weeks she is begging me for "time out" from her rampaging crew. all that envergy by that age all mum wants is some peace, quiet and time out with me. or if im not available and busy, either outside playing in the yard of if going out and prefer her safe in her run, I make sure she has a nice high enough so the mauraders cant get up there too, flat roofed kennel she can snoose on undisturbed yes puppies have rights too, but so has their mum
