  7. Colin at Puppy Bars is the only one in Vic who does them to the professional finish and true fit that I know of. There are a few others who can make up a gate for the rear of the wagon but it is not as finished or fitted as Colin's are. They are pricey but well worth it I think. as they say you get what you pay for and in this case you get a great product. ETA: When I had mine done I was talking to Colin about the Holden Sports Wagon, he told me then he wouldn't be doing a gated set up for them. Also depending on the model car you have to the one you want after your current one you may be able to intregrate the gated system to the new car.
  8. That is a lovley offer Allerzeit , I do hope the offer is taken up. Leo's story is one that should be kept for all to see.
  9. I have a fold up one as well it can take up to 85kg and folds down including the handle. I use the 48" and 42' wire crates, so having a trolley helps to get the heavy stuff to where you want to set up. Plus you can load up your trolley with lots of stuff and reduce the amount of trips you need to take. ish has suggested some of the places you can get them from.
  10. in just over 18 months of showing have never seen anyone not pick up after their dog. this is in SA though. You must have been lucky because I can honestly say every time I have been to SACA Dog Park which is an annual thing for us, the grounds do have deposits of poo around, especially in the paddock / open space near your herding rings. It happens every where, even here at KCC in the off lead exercise area, like what is the go with people not picking up there? There is no excuse........... bags and bin are provided. Still IMO there is no excuse for failing to pick it up. Bring on a suspension / fine system, I am sure people would pick up if they knew they could be suspended / fined for NOT doing the right thing. Oh and the subject of dogs peeing on rims and or cars..........I am one who now has damaged alloy rims (bloody expensive ones at that!) and paintwork that is peeling on my car which is solely caused from people allowing their dogs to pee on my car!!! Not happy Jan!!!!! ;) It does smell and get into your car! If one of my dogs even thinks about lifting his leg on somebody's property he is swiftly corrected before it happens, I cannot stand it happening to me so will not allow one of mine to do it to others.
  11. At AKC shows, a person can receive a bench show hearing for letting their dog foul the show grounds (which includes motels/hotels away from the show site itself) and be fined/lose their show privileges the first time it happens. That would be great if we could have something like that here. I like many others are sick and tired of dodging the land mines when at shows. There is obsolutely no excuse what so ever to leave your dogs mess behind. Bring on the fine / suspension system.............I am sure all of a sudden those who do the wrong thing will suddenly be doing the right thing!
  12. Oh my...what a lucky boy he is to survive. The picture is very scary, look at the size of the snake.........it is not a small one.
  13. Good to hear that your pup is feeling much better. The heat can knock them around as well as the older ones. We do not feed much when it is very hot, we give a chicken frame or piece of brisket bone that is nice and cold.
  14. Misha09 wrote - Thanks for the info, wonder why the vet didn't advise me of any of this?? Advised that beach woulde be good for her! I've kept her indoors all day today because of the heat and it does seem a little better, limp not as obvious which is good. Can you recommend any good muscle manipulators in Melbourne? There are many, where in Melbourne are you located? There are some threads in here that will give you recommended people. Sorry I am not that good with posting the links to them. Maybe somebody else can if you can't find them. Vets are all different, they all have their own opinions on how to deal with things, like Doctors, good all round Vets are hard to find. When you find one you will stick with them. Rest is best with crazy puppies. I would recommend you see a muscle manipulator, I would not be surprised at all if your puppy was out in a few places.
  15. Glad to hear that Brae is now eating well. I will be interested to see what you find out what that thing is............
  16. I would like to know the council you refer to, what extreme measures they have. I often wonder about some councils and how they police only some of the local by-laws. I think the on the spot fine is a bit rough and I wonder how that is determined, through a complaint or the ranger actually hearing the noise? Yes you are lucky in NSW with little to no restrictions. Mind you Victoria is not called the Nanny State for nothing.......... We have rules, rules and more rules. You will comply or else!!!!!!!
  17. Ollie looks great! Cooked mashed pumpkin is a great filler and makes you dog feel full but won't put the weight on them. Keep up the good work with Ollie, his health will thank you for it! Sadly I see too many extremely overweight pugs, they are meant to be cobby but not fat. Puggerup keep up what you are doing it is working!
  18. Sardines are a great treat for the dogs. Eggs as mentioned including the shell crushed up. Also you can add goats milk for a change and maybe make a banana smoothy which could be a treat / meal for a change. Add crushed / mashed banana (well ripened), table spoon of yoghurt, cup of goats milk, for a pug you would probably get two meals from that mix. Fresh and over ripe pieces of fruit are great for treats try carrot, sweet potato, celery, pieces of apple or pear.
  19. I agree with the sand and wet pads theory. Some dogs have much softer pads than others. Also you should be confining her and extremely limiting the exercise to allow her soreness to try and resolve. Constant exercise i.e.; running in the sand will only aggravate an injury, soft sand tends to do more damage than good and can stretch the ligaments more than when on a hard surface. It is not something I would recommend, swimming is OK as there is no impact on a joint but it can aggravate a sore shoulder Crate rest and controlled minimal exercise for a light 5 minute walk 4 to 5 times a day (read toilet break) would be what I would do for a week. NB - at 7 months you have major growth happening and you will have loose ligaments / tendons as the need to stretch / develop with the growth of the dog. Injuries including shoulders can and are very common at that age. I would recommend seeing a very good muscle manipulator, puppies can put things out easily at this age. I strongly suggest you contact the breeder for advice, they know their dogs the best.
  20. Woodsy, good luck in your search. I had a puppy buyer who really struggled to find a friendly suitable club, but that may also of been because of the breed she had. Of those clubs that were contacted many did not like Rottweilers and insisted on what I call unsuitable equipment, expectations and stereotyping for a puppy, but hey each to their own. This puppy buyer now travels a little further to come training with a Rottweiler friendly Obedience club.
  21. I like the idea of an umbrella / carry all bag. How many times do we need to get all of our gear into a bag so that you can easily find things. I have umbrellas that I will use to shade the trailer or set up ring side if there is no space for a Marquee or I use to have my own shade whilst at obedience and or trials. I think a multi purpose bag to incorporate jumps etc into is an excellent idea!!! I to have not seen the heavy duty bags at camping stores and have been looking for something suitable for over a year. The embroidery option is great, we can all have our "own". Dyzney the bags look great! I will be ordering some when they are available. ;)
  22. That site has dremel at a great price. I use the powered plug in rotary tool as replacing batteries can get expensive. Thanks for posting the link. I would be interested to hear how long the battery powered one lasts on big dog nails?
  23. Whole raw eggs are fed here at least twice a week if not more. Crush the shell up and add to a meal, or add to a milk meal. Either way a whole raw egg is great for your dog.
