I don't think my vet has ever charged me a dispensing fee. But then again Darcy is a very special dog My doc charges me $5 a script - but then you save money as you don't pay for an unnecessary appointment.

Thanks Kelpie-i It will really just depend if I get into AQIS and then have enough annual leave to be able to take a week off for the course. If not I may have to wait until later in the year.

My boy used to vomit 2-3 times a day. Mostly bile though and food on the odd occassion. He has a whole host of problems that only my vet can pronounce Have you tried breaking his meals into smaller amounts? There could also be a blockage in the system somewhere? Best bet is to get to a vet quick smart.

Yeah I know, tell me about it Kavik I spoke to the head of the DDU and the impression I got was that I would get through if I had the training in quarantine (4 weeks full time - Certificate in Government). So thats what I'm doing. I still want to do the NDTF course, will just depend on my annual leave situation.

I want to do that to. I might be doing the course next year. Yeah I applied for the DDU and didn't get through as they only took internal AQIS people. So now trying for a regular inspector position and will try and get into the DDU that way. Am still really interested in doing the course but it will depend on if I have time off next year (depending on which job I'm at - current or AQIS).

Darcy is great at taking tablets, I say 'open' and he lowers his jaw and I pop the tablet down the back of his throat. If OH tries...its game on When I was working at the kennels I used to just pop them down the back of their throat and massage. If they weren't on a special diet I would hide it in a bit of cheese, peanut butter or chicken loaf. If you've got a stubborn one you can always try to put the tablet on the back of their tongue, close their mouth and give a short blow into their nose. Often causes them to swallow as a reaction as they weren't expecting you to do that.

I am still tossing up whether to join next year or not. I guess it will depend if I get into the DDU at AQIS.

I've only used ziwipeak as a treat to sprinkle on top of their food, never as a dry food as I thought it would be a bit too rich for my boys.

Yes you can prevote. Car pooling sounds like a great idea as parking is a bit squeezey at Steve's place. Quickasyoucan, did you sort something out so you're not having to do so much driving? No, I don't know if anyone lives out my way, I'm coming from the Northern Beaches that means M2 and then M7 then off through Richmond, I have to say not looking forward to the drive. I'd be happy to share driving (just me no dog) but I just don't know if I am passing anyone's place. Sorry that I'm not coming this time otherwise you could have come to mine and I could have driven. Darcy has gut issues so I switched him over from EP Holistic Duck & Oatmeal to Orijen. No problems with the change over, he seems to prefer it. I feed it in a combination with raw. Haven't noticed any increase in sloppy poos or more vomitting (just his usual amount that is not indicative of diet). Both dogs are doing well on it - shiny coats etc.

Yeah I figured with all this rain the lure coursing wouldn't be on. A real shame seeing as Top has energy to burn! Hes a bit mental!!! Not looking forward to sitting in the rain tonight!
