Norman is gorgeous! Brilliant photo Kirislin. :o

Thanks, he's got a sweet face hasn't he. I am most definitely a whippet/sighthound person through and through but I can certainly see the appeal of these guys when they look like him.

Kirislin that photo is gorgeous!!

Im considering upgrading to the 1.4 but I keep telling myself I can put that towards the 24-70mm!! (About $1400 at DWI).

ARGH DECISIONS!!

Unless you really find the 1.8 isn't working for you keep using it till it dies, I dont know that the image quality is that much less. Have you seen these threads?

the 1.8 (nifty fifty)

the 1.4, I've got this one.

the super dooper expensive 1.2

http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=307389

and the sigma 50 1.4 which is reputed to have better colour and bokeh than the Canon.

  • 2 weeks later...

This is in a separate thread but here's one from today taken with the 1.4.

I'm finding that my camera body at the moment it really letting me down - the lens is fast enough, the card is fast enough but the camera body doesn't seem to be. I'm annoyed that I missed a couple of really good shots today.

Oh well, time for a new camera body anyway!

My Lens has arrived

Haven't had much time to try it out , and of course the dogs were not going to co-operate

Managed to get a photo of Jake. Hoping the weekend brings me heaps of time to have a really good play
