Came across this interesting spelling on gumtree. Not to mention calling a 'whip it' a mini grey hound oh dear.

chawahia X whip it ( miniture grey hound)

i know rottweilers often get called rockwheelers. and borzoi get called boyzoi(sounds a bit japanese to me).

I had a woman at a show ask what my dogs were.

I told her they were Borzoi, she asked that I repeat it, Bor-zoi I said slowly. No problem with that, it's an unusual name.

But she came back at me with 'Oh yes, I've heard of them, the Bourgeoisie'.

It make me laugh, they can be a bit Bourgeois.

Had a very entertaining half hour listening to some people a few gazebo's down trying to figure out how to say the Xolo's name. I was going to give them correct pronounciation (thanks Wazzat for having it in your sig) but was having more fun listening to their bad attempts!

can someone please tell me how you pronounce weimaraner - I have heard different varieties even from people who own them!

I would say the majority of Weimaraner people pronounce it - Why-ma-rah-nah. :laugh:

A guy who tried to sell me shutters at my front dorr told me he has an American English Staffy! does that count? :thumbsup:
