Really hoping your beautiful girl is doing even better this morning. Maybe the fact she is home and with you will be a real positive for her (even though maybe it was too soon) the benefits of being with the human she loves will no doubt help buck up her spirits!

If you haven't been able to get your hands on Trigene, F10 or VirkonS, my Virkon order arrived today. If you are within driving distance of Ipswich I can get some to you (it is very effective and a little goes a long way). Happy to give you some so you can at least have a foot bath at the door and spray for areas that need it.

Good offer.

I hope the little one continues to do well.

Indeed. TLC from you all your family with lots of quiet time.

It's good she is drinking well. just offer her a tablespoon of food every now and then. Lots of little snacks will be easier for her to deal with and less likley to vomit if she doesn't have alot in her quite small tummy.

Big hugs to little one. :p

She had a good night. She's stopped vomiting. She was hungry during the night so I fed her. She ate again at 5.30am. She refused to eat whilst I was at work. I fed her as soon as I got home and she was happy to eat. Her poops are normal. She's drinking lots of water.

This morning she was playful. She slept most of the day. This afternoon she's playful again and wagging her tail. She is walking strange on one of her back legs like it's stiff.

That sounds very promising

Just a word of caution - they think they're better long before they actually are. Still try to keep her as quiet as you can. Don't let her tire herself out. Sometimes they can go backwards again quickly, so it's baby steps for another week or so at least.

But having said that, I'm really excited to hear she's doing so well!!!

She vomited early morning the past two days. She snacks on dry food around 2am and 4-5am. I'm stopping this. I'm going to give her just tinned food and see if that helps. No more night-time snacks. I read somewhere dogs digest solid and wet foods at different rates.

She's getting stronger. She has lots of energy. She wants to play day and night. She jumps up whilst I'm sleeping and pulls my hair so I'll wake up real fast! She whinges at my door so I'll take her outside to pee. She sulks when I put her back to bed. During the day she sleeps whilst I'm at work then wants to play until bed time. She's catching up on naughty puppy habits. Her favourite is biting everything.

She's started rolling over for belly rubs. She didn't like been touched so this must mean she's feeling better.

Is it safe to bath her? I last bathed her two days before she got sick and she screamed like I was killing her.

Can you take her to puppy pre school to equip you with skills on how to handle naughty behaviour? I seem to recall you saying you had foster kids on their way? A large breed puppy will bounce all over them and nip at their hands and face if you're not on to it.

I am so pleased she pulled through - She's a special 'little' girl.

I think she would still be shedding the virus so it wouldn't be safe to take her into puppy class yet.

So glad she's picking up and being a naughty puppy!

I'd just start some training at home with her, short quick lessons a few times a day. That will get her brain working. And then by the time she's healthy enough to leave the house, she won't have missed out on too much learning :(

The past two days she was sick at 2am. This afternoon I gave her a smacko and she vomited :thanks: She is obsessed with chewing on grass and dirt. I'm taking her to the toilet on a lead in case this is making her vomit. She also steels food from our other dog. I believe she is over eating. We made sure this didn't happen tonight.

I am doing respite care until I start full time foster care. I have a 4 yr old next weekend and a 2yr old over Easter. I have a child gate that divides the house in two. It keeps Zoey either in the lounge room or the family room. I'm going to keep her away from the kids until she learns not to bite or jump.

I can't do preschool. Someone said she'll shed for 2 months. I hope I can start obedience training when she's old enough. I haven't decided where I'm going yet. I read wagtails allows dogs 5 months and up. Zoey is currently 10wks and will be 5 months old on 28th June.

I haven't yet bathed her. I will try the powder.

I allowed her to have 10 minutes playtime outside today. It's the first time I've allowed this since she got sick. She chased the ball a couple of times then laid down and started digging and chewing grass.

Digging and chewing grass sounds like a typical pup to me. Ren likes to play tug of war with my lawn - great. Maybe lay off the processed dog treats for a while until you know she's really better. Perhaps try very small amounts of natural treats, either meat you dry in the oven yourself or something like Happy Paws Treats.

Sounds like she's doing better though I'm really pleased for you, so good to see this turned out well.

Michelle, she is beautiful. Don't worry if she misses out on some socialisation. There are enough DOLers around with solid dogs to help her catch up. Tilly (on DOL) used to bring her shep boy out to play with the pei cause they don't mind roughhousing.

Give her a bath. She will feel better and smell better and it will help her to shed the virus currently in her coat.

Her tummy would still be quite tender and raw from being really sick so maybe hang off on the schmakos for now and keep her food very bland. Only introduce treats and other food very slowly and only after she has totally stopped vomiting. Chewing grass can be a sign their tummy is upset. Don't worry too much if she chews a bit. It may make her vomit but that is why they eat it in the first place. It is a natural emetic for them.

She got through the night without vomitting!!!!! It's the first time she's kept her dinner down since she got sick. I'm very excited.

Edit: I'm thinking of buying some Science Diet Canine Puppy Cans. It's the same brand 'Hills' as the prescription diet canned food. I assume it's similar to what she's eating now. She's sick everytime she eats dry food.
