A few years back I had crappy neighbors....gossip was...my fat Shar-pei cross was a pitbull and I used her for fighting and as an attack dog! ( Heard that from the police and council)

Just because the dog was 4.8kg is no defence anyway. If I carry my 30kg dog in my arms across the beach does that make it okay too?

I am sorry for the person that got hurt by those dogs....but am absolutely disgusted by the way they tried chase and run down that poor dog. Idiots!

I have a dog aggresive dog. There is no way I would ever take her to an off leash dog park. If another dog got in my dogs face I could not guarantee that she would not come out fighting. In my opinion that is just setting my dog up to fail! I have spent far too long training and gaining control over her to set her up like that. I also think it is a shame for people with happy social dogs doing what dogs do nicely...to be subjected to a bad experience with my dog.

I struggle with the training situation with my dogs as well. I train them both but definately enjoy training with Jade more than Tank. Tank is a fantastic dog. She is however DA, and I always have to be aware of what is going on around me with other dogs. She tries hard but, it takes her a while to "get things" and it is alot of work to keep her motivated. Jade on the other hand is such a happy go lucky type dog. When training she works so hard and she just loves it. Motivating her is so easy...show her a piece of grass and she will work for it. At the end of the day though...its all fun!

We had a great time yeterday in Brisbane. We all enjoyed being a part of it (my poor little dog misty was quite tired when we got back). Thank you Pet rescue and pedigree for doing such a fantastic job organising it all!

I am so lucky. I have the best boss in the world I have 3 dogs and I take 1 to work with me everyday. My husband takes the other 2 to work with him.

We have a Manx cat. She is about 12 years old. She is very much the boss of the dogs!

Wow...401 dogs to be desexed from one rescue...that is alot! Good to hear they will be working with behaviourists to help fix some of those poor little mutts.

I have a Large blue collapsable one from them. It is about 18 months old and I use it all the time. I hate to think how many foster dogs have been in it (my dogs also) It is still in good condition. I would highly recommened it to anyone.

Agreed! Not the same as tracking, but I get all sorts of comments doing obedience with my beagle. Some people think it's a bit of a joke and don't think you'll do well at it or ever be much competition. Proving them wrong is the best revenge Same doing Obedience with a Great Dane, Breeds should never be used as an excuse not to train ones dog I think. Not tracking...but I was told at my first dog club that i would always "struggle" with my dog and its not the type of dog she would like to have representing her club. Yes I did change clubs. Her loss.... as huski mentioned...the best revenge is to do well with your dog.

My dogs all sleep in my room at night. (3 plus a foster). They have a big dog cuishon each on the floor. They all know which is their spot and pretty much stick to them. The only one that moves around is the foster dog and he still tries to creep up on my bed at about 5am each morn.

Just because a person spends big bucks on a dog from a pet shop does not mean they are all (or any of) the above things. I believe alot people are just uniformed or uneducated about where these poor little mutts come from.

We used to go camping there alot when our kids were younger. It really is a beautiful place. We always took our dogs with us. They had a great time and we never had any problems with other campers and their dogs. There are lots of nice walks you can do and the facilities arnt bad at all. We did however have a problem with the lady that used to own (or lease maybe?) it. (dont know if she is still there or not) She had 2 dogs that were always off lead. Nice dogs but used to always get in other dogs faces. When asked if she wouldnt mind calling her dogs off we were told it was her park and if we didnt like it we could F@*% off. Charming person!

Yes I have seen 2 in real life. Both were young dogs. Absolutley BEAUTIFUL!

I feel so sorry for that poor child that got bitten and wish her a fast recovery. I do however find this thread frustrating re.. peoples comments on dogs not belonging in hairsalons. Surely each situation should be judged on its individual meritts. My dogs come to work with me, and when I get my hair cut I do it on the way home from work and my mutts come in with me. They sit under my chair at my feet. Not a big deal. Just because an accident has occurred at this salon doesnt mean we should all be penalised.
