  1. Glad things are looking up !! :D thanks for the update.
  2. My thought is a large run for Rocky , so he, and passersby are safe.
  3. smelly breath/snoring could also be an infection/tonsilitis ;) Any chance of a checkup?
  4. ;) it's a bit like asking a grade 2 child to write a page long essay .... No expert - but forest track walks should be fun ..and a relaxing time . :)
  5. :D sounds perffect !!! Biting/nibbling/barking pups/dogs are not what most people (including me ) want !
  6. :) It's sounding good - and if he is a lovely calm dog , then that's great!! It is always wise though to get any new dog/pup to your own vet as soon as you can after getting it - as an introduction , and a checkup to make sure all is as it should be :) he sounds as if he is getting a lot of food ;) If he is overweight ( you cannot feel any ribs easily with your fingers) the easisest way I've found is to just give 1/2 what they were being fed . That and exercise, and it usually works , with no drama. Good for you in doing the training too
  7. This could apply to those in the police force as well , Sometimes , in an instant , they need to rely on a reflex, on an action taught specifically to preserve their life . Sometimes , this could be so, and it may never be seen as 'right' .
  8. Mind you ... if he has been kept as an in-house puppy/dog and not played with etc .. he may be just that way .Mind you , I like JS's as they are usually so sparky and active ;) Clarabelle , what was the vet's opinion when you took him for his "I have a new dog , can you check to see if everything is ok?" checkup? (I am presuming he is up-to-date with vaccs, and is desexed?)
  9. Can you easily feel his ribs ? he may be disinclined to do anything because he is a bit heavier ? ;) I missed how old he is? tHERE ARE SOME LINKS BELOW WHICH MAY GIVE YOU SOME IDEAS :) LINK LINK LINK LINK LINK
  10. you can, easily enough ;) I do .. but don't read it much :p It does come in handy to have info with you sometimes :) HERE or HERE I don't have an iphone or an andriod. I use the family phone which stays at my house. I don't like techonology much lol. But thanks :D possibly a good thing ;)

  12. A resource worth eating/playing with + hours + confinement + a certain amount of stress = a worry .
  13. Gold Giving a lawyer a lesson in law was really quite funny! Why I love D O L .. it is one huge learning experience!
  14. I'd have two runs ., and treats/bones etc for each one :) . I wouldn't trust two dogs in a small enclosure like that ... all day ... with nothing to occupy them except themselves, basically ....
  15. I *whew* I'm glad it says samurai swords .. I use a machete on the arms ;)
  16. My guess is because he hasn't had much exercise, and he gets more food than he needs ... Two walks a day would be terrific for his wellbeing , physical and psychological :) I know you say how wonderful he is ... has he lived the apartment life before? he may get bored/frustrated after some weeks of sitting inside all day ..and you may well see some behaviour change. At present everything is novel , and for all he knows, tomorrow he might be doing something different ;)
  17. Possible. Has he been checked for any infection ? That might be an idea ... Also .. when you are home take him somewhere to toilet every 20-30 minutes .....but have a vet check first . Not sure but he may not yet be recognising when he has to 'go ' there may need to be much more training involved - he may also be confused ... he is only a baby still ... When he walks out on the footpath .. might I suggest ..every few minutes take him to the kerb ..and encourage him to pee - then as soon as you feel him slow down on a walk.. dash to the kerb(not ON the street ..just the edge of the path ... GENTLY ..and praise him HEAPS if he pees even a drop nearer the kerb Vet check first though - then perhaps a trainer to visit you and help you manage things :)
  18. Does not apply to dogs , cats, stampeding Rhino or charging Lions. what about zebra?
  19. have a look HERE Can't really help , but don't quite understand how he toilets everywhere when you are with him ? Do you miss the signs? have you tried having him attached to you on a longer light leash ? Sorry , not much help - have never had a pup in a flat/apartment ....
