  1. :) I think you have a way of finding out - just phone your vet to be safe .They know you, your dogs, and what chemicals you use ..... Best of luck for puppies' safe arrival in due course!
  2. :) So, you're a bit happy ??? LOL
  3. Love the setting sun :) NO WAY could I ever do that ,,, well done :D
  4. :) silly!! Their waiter had not placed bowls in preferred positions! Tsk tsk...
  5. No Abnormalities Detected I would suggest between now & pup-pick-up date that you read and read all sorts of dog stuff :) Vet terminolgy/anatomy/basic behaviour all sorts, so that when someone talks to you - you can answer them confidently , and so you can better understand how your dog works! :)
  6. :) Have been moving sensible posts up .... think I can spot DOLers .... My post from yesterday got thru ..and has had some reaction....
  7. Maybe speak with the vet? What is the diagnosis?
  8. I think you made a wise decision.DOL is a good resource for finding a dog who will fit in- hopefully yours will be waiting for you soon
  9. This idea makes me uncomfortable .... for several reasons... I hope your methods will suit your pack ....and that it will work
  10. Seems dog has severe nausea ...and I am surprised the vet didn't give you anything to help with that Nausea can be caused by all sorts of things, and after such an op ... it is a real worry, and I'm sorry you are having trouble . A dog not eating/drinking , and still trying to recover from surgery Did the vet give extra fluids per I.V or injected under the skin?Seems to me he needs supplementing with fluid /nourishment now ..before it gets worse The more dehydrated he gets, the sicker he will feel ......
  11. IMO chicken frames are less of a risk than necks ....necks can and do get swallowed ...frames need chewing , and provided dogs are left alone and away from competition..they can relax and enjoy :)
  12. Hi :) nipping/playing using teeth is obviously great between pups..but not great for humans It may well last until the pup is taught otherwise ..be it 2 days or a year! if you click on this LINK it will show you that you are NOT alone ..and there are many different ways to go about making life more comfortable :) I suggest you also have read of the ebook you will find when you click this LINK, too :)
  13. I hope that you can rest a bit now too .... she may be a bit stressed ,( and some dogs aren't stressed as much when owners are not there ;) ) but is getting what will do her the most good ...
  14. :) I'm glad she is now in the best of care ...it would be very difficult indeed to do it all at home!.
  15. Glad you have some help available :) let us know of progress , and best of luck.
  16. He had a sweet face :) Write down funny stories etc now...while your mind is dredging them up :) Then you'll have things to look back on ...
  17. after reading those FB comments - It is so sad that so many people seem to not live in the real world , where there are never enough caring homes for pound dogs ....even the stable and healthy ones ...
  18. Perhaps this is why the dog was in the pound? What did the Pound's temperament test discover? Why was the dog in teh pound, did they say? What did your vet find in the "here is my new dog , is he all present and correct?" check before you brought him home ? Did the dog react to other dogs there? He is stressed.. your dog is stressed .... you are stressed.... I suggest -either separate and introduce very gradually ..or return the dog now . What someone else needs to do to sort out their dog problems may not be at all what you and this pound dog needs. With your training experience ..you will know that every animal is different, every reaction to situations differs somewhat , and any education needs to be tailored. the use of a crop may well be exacerbating feelings of defensiveness/aggression ... the breeds making up this dog may also affect how it is behaving .... and what needs to be done. it is not a 'gun dog' temperament, or a terrier temperament ...
  19. It's good that he is so helpful :) (and cute !)
  20. YES!!!! ..and not just a few days, either . If the vet did a sudden halving of dose ..perhaps find another vet?
