  1. Welcome , but I am sorry it is under such a sad circumstance. Have specialists seen Molly ? Uni vet hospital or someone, or is this a 'GP' vet? I don't know about her condition ....but will be thinking of you ,and hoping you can find answers.
  2. One of my brother's bitches dug a huge hole and protected her 'pup' , a toy penguin, with great gusto for a week or so!! She 'weaned' pup early ..carrying it with her ..until one day she just didn't bother .She had a little mammary development ..but it disappeared quickly :)
  3. These three gorgeous little westies sharing our Semaphore coffee & almond cookie Supper when I was in Adelaide ...... and they really are white ;) and a snap of some of the Semaphore Scenery :) My Iphone was battling
  4. Here's to a comfortable night ,and a happier tomorrow :)
  5. :) You may be having the odd palpitation , out of concern ; however if the vet palpates the bitch, they may feel if there is anything internal .
  6. I would probably take him to a vet ..vomiting post surgery is not a really good thing .... and he needs all his strength . Hope he's OK.
  7. ( bit of a side track) Did the vets do all the checks for ingrown/extra lashes/blocked tearducts/small growths on inner eyelids , etc? Is it worse at certain times? perhaps , if it is a reaction to dust/pollen you may be able to manage the environment somehow? Good luck with the eyebright :)
  8. Maybe contact someone like Robert McDowell Herbal? They may have a more specialised plant /compound database or something?
  9. What strange reactions is she having? Paralysis, unfortunately is one symptom ....and hopefully with time, will improve. Keep her quiet ..... feed the best possible food ..maybe with some paraffin oil to aid in defecation (hopefully those muscles are not badly damaged ) and I advise phoning Robert McDowell Herbal LINK thinking of you ...
  10. Karge ice blocks she can lick , and discover frozen liver treats etc ..? Do you have a baby pram or something she can be propped up in to go out & about? drag her around the house on a beanbag /thick bed ..... Roll her around on the carpet/lawn .. help keep her muscles a bit alive and improve circulation that way , as well as giiving her brain some sensation of movevment :) Make sure she is often changed from side to side and has those legs massaged - this will give her something to think about ;)
  11. Thinking of you ...what a loving tribute to your boy...
  12. They haven't actually. Not at all. In fact the dog's moving backwards on the medication. It's OK greytmate, I actually know what I'm doing and your constant insistance of a time frame and written plan are frankly, annoying - I don't plan on protracting this situation forever but frankly our agreement is none of your business. Your insinuation like I'm some DVD scholared behavioral trainer is insulting. I do what I do, it works. I have spoken IN DEPTH to Jelly A LOT about all facets of this situation, and I literally have my phone open to her 24 hours a day, no matter what the problem is. I'm the last person to be unrealistic about this situation and Jelly knows this, but ultimately I will help her until she says she doesnt need my help anymore for whatever reason that may be. So keep this thread light, that is the point of it. for nek, jelly and Roo
  13. Hi Please don't wait for it to get worse. That will be a bite , and possibly an awareness by the dog that he can indeed successfully protect what he sees as his. Google NILIF. And as said do not pose a threat to dog when he has something . Move his bed if it is near where you need to be. Get someone on DOL to recommend a trusted professional in your area
  14. My first thought is pain , second, stress. The pain could be spine related, or internal Or it could be neurological ... Seems some more investigation is needed like blood tests to check for indicators of inflammation / infection . It's good that you have noticed :)
  15. I'm glad the pup survived . Without being there, the picture I get from your post is of a stressed mum, upset at a lifeless pup and trying to remove from your sight Hope all is well now :)
  16. IF this behaviour is 'compulsive' and the dog is crated, my big worry is it may then translate into something else, maybe excess chewing of feet or an increase in stress because there is no release/stimulation. Just my thoughts
  17. It would be useful to know the real story. Not sure why the dog would have been terrified?
