  1. make sure you tell the breeder ! It is very poor for a puppy to be sent home with visible fleas When you take pup to the vet for his "new pup' check ..ask the vet about flea treatment for baby pups- also about the itching. your pup is a TINY BABY ..and applying chemicals is risky at this age Unfortunately, itching can be from allergies/illnesses.. and often it is VERY hard to find the cause . Was pup on the same food at the breeders? are you feeding anything containing artificial colours? I note you are in VIC ? Make sure you have all your pedigrees/registration papers/transfer papers from breeder etc From some of the stories coming from Vic .. they have made some awful mistakes in identifying pups/dogs ...
  2. Run free Charlie ... smile that smile ..and flag that tail. Wsibs Thank you for sharing with us your joy your anticipation, your absolute shock and pain ..and Charlie's travels and experiences during his life. I so enjoyed sharing his successes, his enjoyment and his struggles. You will have such a hole in your day-to- day now ....and I hope you can smile at knowing he is at last pain free and at rest (while plotting world domination ;) ) and that photo is just magic - what a wonderful image :)
  3. Using Easy Thumbnails I did some screen shots? Any help? ALWAYS have a copy of your photos in another folder or somewhere so you keep them safe :) A lot of programs resize without changing the originals :) :)
  4. For healthy dogs - chicken with some fat is fine :) Some red meat certainly is a good addition maybe kidneys/or heart ? With Bon...can you get kangaroo mince? Very lean meat . perhaps add sweet potato & a little spinach , an egg every couple of days and some natural fat free yoghurt plus a small amount of brown rice? With dogs who are ill, I prefer to feed fresh - it may not make a difference, but I 'feels' as if I am giving them food more beneficial :)
  5. Today ..all those things said are a memory :) Sorry about the transfer falling through
  6. From the help Save the Furry Ones website ...
  7. ..eating stones is potentially a life threatening habit . perhaps now she is officially 'mature' she is looking to use up some energies ?..what elese is there in her pen to chew/eat/interact with? It could also be a misguided attempt to ingest minerals ..maybe ...? perhaps Try her on some dolomite ..just a small amount :)
  8. what program are you using? I use a couple ... including http://download.cnet.com/PIXresizer/3000-12511_4-10607499.html Most programs make a copy of the new size..so the original stays the same :)
  9. yes, and yes...tho this thread is about one situation ..which I hope is resolved quickly .
  10. Being wet won't hurt her if she keeps active , and the weather's not cold :)
  11. Poor things yes, legally they need to be taken to the pound ...and yes, they will probably be PTS. I cannot imagine rehoming adult ,strictly outdoor, not very friendly cats, would be high on anyone's list of priorities.
  12. Looking forward to seeing poodle grins :)
  13. I also have never seen a scrotum removed in normal adult DOG /Cat male desexing ....it would be most unusual . adult males do need to be totally rested ...as it is more of a shock to their sytem than a young pup. Is the swelling clear fluid? Is there much bruising? (Did your vet consider a bleed ? I have seen haemophiliac dogs with scrotums the size of a baseball..in a hurry ) It will hang ..and normally, any 'vacuum' will fill with fluid .. this takes some time to resolve .
  14. he was a weird character , a beautiful boy and he was usually happy and smiling :) What I remember is Monday Morning ..I woke up .. and looked over to where he was sleeping , said "Good Morning",Ham..and his head came up , eyes looked bright - hey, It's Morning :) And my heart sang .....for all of 5 seconds ..then he dropped his head and his eyes filled with pain . You know- that was worse for me , than if I'd woken and found him unconscious or something ..there was that spark of relief and hope ..then the knowledge of what I had to do . The last couple of days have been busy ...but today I find I'm exhausted .. the adrenaline has run out :) I thank you all for your words..and although I have been thru this several times before , and have had many many animals share my life and leave , I still do so appreciate the support of DOLers.
  15. Nice to see a spidey!! Dxenion :) Here are two from today .. Our Dear old Gert - in her teens ..and Mum's old girl ...... and a floating feather - found in the water trough this afternoon :) Love having my iPhone with me :)
  16. Thanks, folks... I took some photos off my phone, and found this, which i had kept because it was Hammy's "No, pleeease don't take my photo...the camera will eat my soulllll..." pathetic crouch he used to do sometimes .... On looking at it, and other recent ones, I can see how much muscle he had lost , and just how quickly he had aged .... there was something ticking away inside , so I'm so pleased he enjoyed life almost to the end of it .
  17. I am hoping for a burst blood vessel diagnosis so Kirislin can breathe again :)
  18. SMART! May I suggest a stronger crate ..one of the mesh ones or something? that way there is no way to put a foot thru and risk getting hurt ..or getting her lower jaw caught....
  19. She looks fit & well .... hopefully everything will be a breeze .. take care
