what program are you using? I use a couple ... including http://download.cnet.com/PIXresizer/3000-12511_4-10607499.html Most programs make a copy of the new size..so the original stays the same :)

Poor things yes, legally they need to be taken to the pound ...and yes, they will probably be PTS. I cannot imagine rehoming adult ,strictly outdoor, not very friendly cats,would be high on anyone's list of priorities.

I also have never seen a scrotum removed in normal adult DOG /Cat male desexing ....it would be most unusual . adult males do need to be totally rested ...as it is more of a shock to their sytem than a young pup. Is the swelling clear fluid? Is there much bruising? (Did your vet consider a bleed ? I have seen haemophiliac dogs with scrotums the size of a baseball..in a hurry ) It will hang ..and normally, any 'vacuum' will fill with fluid .. this takes some time to resolve .

he was a weird character , a beautiful boy and he was usually happy and smiling :) What I remember is Monday Morning ..I woke up .. and looked over to where he was sleeping , said "Good Morning",Ham..and his head came up , eyes looked bright - hey, It's Morning :) And my heart sang .....for all of 5 seconds ..then he dropped his head and his eyes filled with pain . You know- that was worse for me , than if I'd woken and found him unconscious or something ..there was that spark of relief and hope ..then the knowledge of what I had to do . The last couple of days have been busy ...but today I find I'm exhausted .. the adrenaline has run out :) I thank you all for your words..and although I have been thru this several times before , and have had many many animals share my life and leave , I still do so appreciate the support of DOLers.

Thanks, folks... I took some photos off my phone, and found this, which i had kept because it was Hammy's "No, pleeease don't take my photo...the camera will eat my soulllll..." pathetic crouch he used to do sometimes .... On looking at it, and other recent ones, I can see how much muscle he had lost , and just how quickly he had aged .... there was something ticking away inside , so I'm so pleased he enjoyed life almost to the end of it .

SMART! May I suggest a stronger crate ..one of the mesh ones or something? that way there is no way to put a foot thru and risk getting hurt ..or getting her lower jaw caught....

She looks fit & well .... hopefully everything will be a breeze .. take care

Thanks folks ... I feel better now - vacuuming, sweeping, washing, packing away,moving, disposing of .. there is not much left ..except the collar hanging on the dressing table mirror ..with other collars and the foal halter ...

Her quality of life , if she loses her sight ,....providing she is pain free is as good as you make it , basically! if you can set up your house and yard to suit a blind dog ...and arrange walks/outings etc to suit ..then that's great . Just remember it's for the next 10 or so years , though. There's lots to learn about how dogs cope ..and how owners can help :)

I have actually never heard of hardening of the eyeballs after this surgery .... can you explain it to me ? As said removal of eyeballs can be done , and dogs adapt very well :) All this said - I can understand confusion - this dog is only a year old .... she has her whole life ahead of her..and it is a worry trying to ensure that life is as complete as you can make it ....

It's a matter of working out which route will give your dog good quality of life , which route you can afford, and which route you can manage with your lifestyle. I hope you have notified the breeder ..did they have any supportive things to say ? is it in their lines somewhere?
