  1. I tried to grab a bone back from my dog when I was a child and learnt the lesson then! I don't think reptiles are quite as forgiving.
  2. Good dog Ted. What a huge life, well lived and loved.
  3. Hugs Leopuppy And vale lovely Leo, a beautiful DOL dog
  4. Based on DOL, my childhood and Trisven's daughter, I'd check Aussie Terrier (tougher than silkies) or Fauves. Definitely NOT an Iggie! Delightful dogs but so fragile
  5. Good miss DDD! It was dramatic today watching clouds come over then feeling the freeze! Stevie and I were at Henson park watching the Jets win and we went from too hot in the sun regretting the black tshirt to buying a beenie to survive the last 20 minutes. Bluebags won!
  6. I'm not sure which brand of pod but LabraDOG rescue has a couple of oldies (ancients) who love their pods. They live in a colder place than Sydney
  7. Stevie is a Lab x Golden and I spent her first couple of years worrying about her hips because of her wiggly walk and waggily tail making the effect stronger. She's good. I've seen a Lab pup with bad hips and it's a totally different thing involving pain and limping. Sounds like your pup is happy and growing. Isn't 4 months too early for X-rays to show anyway? ETA Stevie still has the most voluptuous walk. I think they call it 'swag' this week :)
  8. I know you know DD, but what SG said. Shocking that she's gone so fast, totally sux
  9. Jenolan had snow today but I wouldn't want to rush that road in the dark! Jindabyne is where I'd head, but leave it until school holidays are over.
  10. Oh he SOO wanted to get the ball! ETA his job was to teach his boy to not be scared of dogs and to be gentle and loving. He did his job beautifully.
  11. Thanks everyone, especially DD today. His breeder is aware. Nobody would ever want this outcome for a pup. So, so sad for the people. I reckon his tail kept wagging to the end though.
  12. There should be plenty of humping pillows over the rainbow bridge!
  13. From DDD's thread about Myrtie but I didn't want to hijack. I've been hanging on to this thought all week about a family dog being pts today for his bad hips, knees, elbows. He's only 12 months old and must have been in pain for much of that but has such a sweet temperament all the memories are of a happy loving dog. His 5yo human brother seems to be coping better than the humans in the family. It's such a terribly difficult decision but even Dr Ledbetter can't offer hope Vale Charlie. A short life but full and happy.
  14. So sorry to just read this Cin. All the big gloppy licks and hugs in the world from the black pack here. Poor Myrtie might be paying now for years of neglect but she's had your years of love and care to balance that.
  15. http://m.smh.com.au/small-business/startup/australias-first-cat-cafe-opens-20140531-39ati.html They're wrong - I consider you were first!
  16. Wish! Love that show and seeing all the breeds close up, and the funny shiny outfits and prancy poodle people! Alas, transport issues
  17. So sorry MW Tess was just about the best leaner ever, and the gentlest soul. She was big but the hole she leaves will be humongous Hugs to you and Fleming.
  18. Yup. Padding and flannies everywhere and minimal steps but max cuddles!
  19. I understand! The thing with my labs is they go to much better situations than I can offer. I cannot imagine giving up a pup I knew from 0 though. Best wishes to all.
  20. That's good. I mean not good, but suitable.
  21. You could try Porsche's rescue, though I think she's more into bunnies and guinea pigs. Have you put anything in the off-topic backyard poultry thread? Wish I could have them but not in the right situation at all

    Four Years

Not forgotten in this house, ever. Jed I don't know how you survived the night or the following hard times but I'm so glad you're still with us. Go get those smurfs Magnus!
