  1. The breeder can simply show your the current membership card or certainly give you there prefix. There are plenty of Beagle breeders in NSW .I would imagine without looking a good choice on the breed pages on this site or contact the Beagle club of NSW
  2. Should also pint out some of the testing that can be done isn't available in every state either . The vets can bitch all about what should be done but until they also provide the facilities & experienced staff then many breeders are left with the added expense of flying east or if lucky to have a strong bunch of breeders pay towards getting a qualified person over to do a health test day . I flew my dogs east to have a very basic test done that should be available in every state but isn't . Cost well luckily i was there for shows so pre booked but if i didn't show there was a near $1000 exercise just to get a simple test done for 1 dog . Our state use to have the facility at the major teaching school but the brainless idiots never trained other people to do it nor did they bother to repair the equipment. It took them over 6 months to reply to my emails asking over & over when they could do it to be finally told the above . This teaching school also would be the first to complain that breeders aren't testing
  3. There are breeds that have to have certain tests under ANKC requirements. Many other breeds are wanting the same process to happen after new tests coming to light BUT there is also the other side to the story . Testing is a great tool but some people want only certain means of breeding with these tools & one has to be very careful not to go so test crazy that they lose gene pools & create other issues but breeding from only certain results In my breed they have been DNA testing for well over 20 years ,my other breed also has DNA options. Many breeds do not have DNA options or any testing even mentioned on AVA sites or the likes . The greater majority of breeders certainly do test but one can only test what is out there . As testing is becoming more common world wide place like the AHT are developing test to benefit the breeds worldwide but this takes time
  4. Like already mentioned just because there good doesn't mean that is what will be produced or that they area a match for each other . It depends on how much breed type you wish to lose or what breed type you wish to retain. Besides health testing you also need to factor how much to the breed standard you wish to breed to,coat texture etc etc. Many pet people want to buy pups that are what the breed should be not always what people prefer . There are more field breed Cockers around than people think but sadly at present we via the club we belong to are getting far to many emails regarding wanting to rehome or needing assistance with there field breed Cockers (from the same breeders) because there are not the easiest to live with . Many people thought the less coat aspect was a good reason over understanding there not breed to be your avergae Cocker family pet but these breeders also aren' helping in any form just telling them to go out into the field & work them. I think what people need to remember is whilst your dogs might be the best at that sport how much is due to your effort ?Breeding certainly goes along way but by the same token many top OB/agility dogs worldwide are alo rescue or pound puppies with no history just very keen owners Many dogs/breeds can potentially be great at many things but without dedicated owners to cater for those needs then those pups can be hard to live with or a joy .
  5. Okay we board & Groom alot of these & only one is a dog that i could actually live with Many have freaky temps, coat textures area a nightmare. Many have been caught with the "size issue" One was as big as a great dane ,most are Lab sise . Some have hairy front or back ends & the other part smooth (look really weird) . Some are hairy as poodles but still shed . The natures are very different ,there ofetn neither of the breed . The one good one we groom would be what the ideally planned to create but aftre 20 plus years of being in this industry thats a poor number of good versus not what people expected . Nearly all brought from the east sight unseen & got often what they didn't want considering there reasons for going to the expense in the first place. Testing most didn't , alot we deal with have very bad HD ,a number have also bloated (which can happen in either breed ) Mind you it sounds a good thing its coming spayed given there lack of actually ever owning these dogs & this is a classic example why people do spay early
  6. Also already mentioned they are designed to keep blood off furniture or carpets ,there not designed for any off the other things mentioned . Most dogs dislike wearing them anyway . To avoid matings it s all about keeping the bitch securely away until her season has finished .
  7. I would sooner feed quality & correct quantity . The last month i have groomed so many obese dogs that apparently get fat on thin air according to there owners When asked what feed well lets say its hard to believe so many people just don't get it
  8. The dog shop at the SACA grounds will have plenty of leads suitable if not then you will need to order elsewhere
  9. Any breed there all wonderful learning tools & special in every way
  10. You have a a breed standard to adhere to & then you have any health testings that should be done . Of course breeding is an open book area & one person idea of betterment is another,s person idea of disaster & then there are the different registries that look for different things . We breed to the breed standard ,that is what we consider ideal in all ways ,we health test & hope after all things have been done for the betterment that we produce pups that represent that effort. Our breed suffers highly from the BYB & we groom pups that are so over sized, poor coat texture, not health tested because there idea of breeding is different again.
  11. BIS B Collie RUIS GSP Baby Whippet Puppy Dachie Junior Frenchie Inter Std Poodle State Lhaso Open BIS Veteran MIni Smooth Dachie That is it so far
  12. We boarded a GSD that did this ,it actually injured itself whilst playing ,chasing a ball & hit the wall. We took the dog to our Bowen lady who in this dogs case fixed the issue . The dog also had bad ears which may have added to the issue
  13. Do they plan to visit pup or arrange friends to visit if they can't?? The simple reality is there not going to get oodles of time & attention spent on them not enough hrs to do so or staff ' We find the staff do the simple basics BUT visiting is really important or at the very lest paying someone to do so is a must
  14. Yep the rest of the grp is today BOB was Ch Vansitar Sunrise Dam RUBOB was Ch Vansitar Argyle Diamond DCC Vansitar a Cut Above
  15. Singapore has a very strong agility/obedience scene, It certainly was when i attended a dog show there few years back
  16. What sort of surfaces & circumstances?? IN the show ring i use gymnast resin grip or coke if caught short . I have used some of the other stuff & never found it to really work for the price. Our house is tiled but i never use it inside
  17. It takes time for everyone but you need to stick to what is normal & when the dog starts looking distract him with something else . You will hear noises & the likes for many months more & the dogs are creatures of habit but things do change but sometimes we need to assist . Moving unless already planned will be just as stressful anyway . My special boy has been gone for nearly 4 months & i still hear his barks & i find it comforting to now i still remember his special tones & now at some point i will no longer hear it after all 12 yrs of daily life just doesn't stop that day
  18. If you plan on flying with your dog the bigger it is the more it will cost & flying dogs isn't a cheap exercise . We breed Minis. Have owned Kerry Blue & a true Keery which ever sex it may be will be fiesty, more placid ones often come up but as a breed i would suggest with Kerrys you own one dog at a time very few Kerry breeders run older dogs together. Also keep in mind different breeds will cost more to groom,a Kerry would be more & take ages dry in winter without a dryer can can be done . I think the main thing is to be sure what you really want & what you really don't want in your dog . If renting & the dog is allowed inside then non shedding can be easier but they all need regular clipping & can take longer to bath.dry, Smooths coats can shed but are easy wash/wear to keep clean & maybe a good option as a first dog money wise . For some breeds you could be spending over $300 if not more for grooming . When emphasis this to our prospective buyers that Minis are a breed with expense for life . Mind you reading what you like & want to do the breed that popped into my mind was an Irish Terrier
  19. Judging finished earlier yesterday compared to the others . I think due to the 36 plus heat they didn't stuff around as much for lunch Where today is nice & pleasant so theyw ould have spread they day out more
  20. We use dishwashing detergent to make the whites whiter & remove build up BUT i always ensure i wash the dogs thoroughly & condition . It can be drying We only use the green one . Its ashame they didn't tell you whilst the house was empty ,perfect for spraying/bombing
  21. Just because its small & cute doesn't mean it should be spoilt.Best advice i can give
