  1. Are you considering desexing the dog? If so I imagine any value to the co-owner would be naught
  2. I know of a Border Collie locally that was donated alive to Murdoch Uni as they wrre trying to develop a DNA test for CL in Border Collies. It was highly suspected she had it but back then diagnosis was only definitive on PM and checking their brain. She was a sweet little dog that taught so much and I like to think that her owners decision helped to create the test we have today so other people don't have to lose a dog like they did.
  3. I am as busy if not busier than normal. I do live in a regional popular tourist spot which helps. There are good and bad in every industry. I like to think I go above and beyond to keep owners and animals happy, safe and content. Sometimes owners can be a little over the top, sometimes owners do not want think their dog is actually quite happy. Would they prefer to be at home? Of course but I think some owners would prefer they were miserable so they feel better about their own feelings. I strictly adhere to any allergy/feeding/medications as required. I want happy healthy dogs to hand over!
  4. Bunnings have battery operated mouse zappers. Not sure about rat zappers though.
  5. I have them and was impressed by the quality considering the price. I have them set up as day yards at my kennels and have had no issues with them. They still look good, function as per new.
  6. Yes I have some spot On dog runs what would you like to know?
  7. I'm the same. I bought a chainmesh dog run from Vebopet. If I did it again I would use weldmesh panels. Easier to pull apart, move and store too. Ours were my design and built here so not panels. The xhainmesh was very tightly stretched and wired on. But I would still go weldmesh after building our boarding kennels with weldmesh
  8. I have chainmesh dog runs. Attached on all four sides around a frame. Cheaper but more fiddly. If I did it again I would use weldmesh as it can't be bent or squished as easily.
  9. Obviously there were enough dogs presenting with injury to cause the law to change.
  10. Optimum was better when it didn't have wheat in it. Mine don't do well on BH, but many do. Don't feed Hills and RC doesn't fill me with excitement either.
  11. Haven't noticed a change recently but I did notice a change a while back.
  12. I am very sorry you have been put through the wringer. It is completely unfair. Okay so they may not have realised the gravity of the situation until she was gone.........maybe. But she was advertised for a length of time, not a day. Surely they would have to actually arrive at the decision to put the ad up after much soul searching. Not to mention meet and greet hand over etc. Their behaviour is appaling. Multiple messages basically bullying you into returning their dog. I hope you told them their behaviour was not acceptable.
  13. That's the hardest bit. You use it because it has got something or not got something, suddenly it's changed and you can't use it any more. Wish people would atop screwing with things that don't need changing. It's so frustrating. I feed this in my kennels - a lot of it. Nothing else is comparable.
  14. Sigh here we go again. Crap will be added and I will be once again left looking for a good food.
  15. No way should that diagnosis be made without xrays. Don't desex him this young, especially if he does have joint issues. What does his breeder say?
  16. Our local Woolies is discontinuing it unfortunately
  17. Just clip two leads on and give one to the dog. Simple. Cheaper.
  18. Does look potentially chimeric or mosaic
  19. Yes years. I also don't care too much what others think of the way I do it. I have my well researched reasons and pick the best for each individual dog
  20. Oh yes I agree. Desexing is more convenient for the owner. I have entires and desexed dogs. One was when I got her, one was for health reasons. The other three are entire. Having said that I personally will desex a bitch once past viable breeding age. 1 - to make sure there is no possible way for her to concieve 2 - To negate the potential of pyometra, which I have had in my own older entire bitches. Generally I would desex a bitch at around 6 - breed/size dependant.
  21. Often people don't desex to modify behaviour, they do it to not have puppies.
  22. Or you can be a responsible owner and own entire dogs ;)
