Some vets will stock them or be able to get them for you. If a petshop stocks kongs they can probably get them in too. I've seen the kong cloud collars used - only feedback on them is for very active dogs they can rip off the fabric ties that hold the cloud collar onto their collar. They also aren't suitable for breeds with very long muzzles as they can often still reach around the collar.

As a person living with skin issues.. its not a small thing. It's frustrating to be itchy all the time, it keeps you up at night, you get infections very easily as the skin barrier is broken. My dog is also allergic to environment - we went down the food path but unfortunately it made no difference to his allergies, I really wish it would have been so simple that I could have put him on z/d and that would be the end of his issues! We did a pork and potato elimination diet and yes they are not meant to be long term diets - they are not varied enough to be balanced which is why we have those prescription diets. I also was told to add safflower oil to the pork and potato - the diet you are currently feeding isn't very high in fat so maybe check with your vet if you need a supplement. My dog is now on atopica - not cheap for my wallet but he is so much happier and has regrown all the fur on his legs and has a better body condition too. When the skin is bad a lot of energy and nutrition they get is directed at trying to heal those areas - if you can sort out whether your dog is allergic to food or environment their body condition should improve too.

Much better results with the collar than the spray....

I would consider a vet visit tomorrow (not urgent to need treatment on a Sunday night)... the beauty of chicken and rice is that it allows you to see stool colour so considering you are seeing abnormalities in the stools and things aren't settling down I would consider a vet visit. It sounds like she is also still eating indigestible materials so you'll have to do a walk around your house and make sure there's nothing she can get too! Licking paws after a walk isn't very normal, a quick foot rinse may help remove some allergens after a walk. Food allergy should also be considered as well - mucus intermittently in stools is also a sign of an unhappy gut. My boy got it quite regularly on one brand of dry food but now I've switched it only occurs when he has an upset tummy from other foods.

Specialist..eyes can be tricky to treat and you don't want to waste any more time when it is something unusual.

I have a smooth collie and if you can include training in your schedule he'd be happy with that excercise. Collies do like their voice....I tend to keep my boy inside if I'm away ...he's happier snoozing on the couch. Left outside on his own he barks at noises.

I had really bad skin plus allergic dermatitis all over my hands from checmicals at work. I used Moisturiser + cotton gloves + water proof gloves and whenever not near water take off to allow skin to breathe. I also took my own soap to work (ego). Once my hands got better I religiously applied barrier cream. At the moment my allergies on my hands are good and I haven't needed to recently.

I waited till 9 months to desex my boy... I was planning to wait a year but I was very very lucky and the undescended testie descended so I decided to go for it whilst it was down!I was advised 12 months would be safe to wait but that testie was very very abnormal in my boy so I don't think anyone can say for sure.

I love my smooth... he was very full on as a youngster but has settled very well now matured. He enjoys obedience but finds the repetition boring, will be starting either agility or flyball with him soon which I think he will enjoy more. He is very toy focused and also food orientated so I haven't found him too tricky training wise, I find he's quite sensitive and I would only ever use mild corrections for him otherwise he shuts down training wise (I'm not a harsh correction type anyway). They are barky! Loves to hear his own voice and I'm not sure on other smooths but my boy can be a bit of a princess hah (should see the dirty looks I get if I try and make him work in the rain).

I would say just simply not enough food! At 12 weeks I was feeding 3 times a day and I think it was a cup each feed, of course exact amount does depend on what food you are feeding.

You may even be able to feel around the neck if he had 2 injections as sometimes a small lump forms there after? I guess proheart is difficult for the vet to tell after the fact as its not like a vaccine vial where you can account for how many vials have been taken since the proheart is drawn out from one larger bottle. Most vets I think would remember if it was fairly recently but it does depend how busy their practice is I guess as if you are giving multiple vaccinations per day one may not stand out. It should not harm him unless he is a heartworm positive dog which you can test for. I would say the coughing you are seeing is a separate issue and most likely related to the heart murmur but probably be wise to book in with your regular vet and see if the murmur has changed/progressed since they last heard it.

Also recommend boomerang. I bought some of etsy and whilst they look cute they just didn't hold up! The slide on tag from boomerang is really nice and strong.

I can also say it is not that cheap to purchase vaccinations here. There are a lot of costs involved with running a business its not just the vaccine you are paying for.

Was there an anaesthetic chart? If no charting was done I would suggest a case could definitely be made to the board. But also, it would be stronger if an autopsy was done to be sure there were no abnormalities. I think there could be a couple failures here... no charting of the anaesthetic (? - don't know how you can chart if you leave the room), plus the combination of an inexperienced vet with no support - but it is normal for a young vet to be independently doing anaesthetics such as these to start off with as a stitch up is generally short and simple procedure). But there is the possibility here that even if the nurse was present this could still have been an anaesthetic reaction where they may not have been able to revive the pup.

I highly recommend a DAP collar ASAP to see if it helps him adjust, from experience some dogs it really makes a huge difference. Some are also not affected by it. For my dog he has a slight phobia on slippery surfaces - wearing the collar he is less stiff and ventures out on them tiles, without and he will only walk them if absolutely necessary. I've also seen great results with dogs with separation anxiety. Make sure you get the collar as I find the spray doesn't work so well. You can buy them on ebay or through some vets.

Or give Sentinel every 6 weeks.. quite safe to do that and still have heartworm protection. Just mark on phone when due. Or give Interceptor every 6 weeks and treat fleas as needed.

Demodex shouldn't be painful! This really suggest to me to seek specialist opinion - my boy was really itchy with demodex which is again unusual and was actually the start of him developing atopy.

Another vote for the Kruuse ones... at work we use them and they stay sharp for a long time and can handle the toughest nails! I hate the guillotine ones.

My advice would be to seek specialist dermatology opinion - melbvet.com.au I recommend Dr. Greg Burton. All you need to do is ask your current vet for a referral and ring and book an appointment. In terms of cost I saved much more by going to a specialist than repeated vet visits with no resolution. My boys demodex mites resolved through 2 weekly Advocate treatments, he also had regular skin scapings to see how the mites where going. Unfortunately he later developed atopic dermatitis but has been under Gregs care since he was a pup and is now doing very well.

I know of someone who used her and does recommend her - she said she made the process very easy and peaceful. This was for a very fearful and aggressive cat who was a nightmare to bring into a clinic.

Seriously? Three vaccine vials for one dog... really sounds very doubtful. There is a registered vaccine that the manufacturers have tested and proven that it will last for at least 3 years but it is not a triple dose.

I had one who visited my previous work - cute little chihauhau X who remained stunted and did suffer from fits. He was discovered to have a liver shunt as well. He was doing okay though when I left he was 2 years old and had a fairly good quality of life with more good days than bad.

Imo best left to the vet as they have a polisher and then start brushing his teeth to keep them nice and clean and hopefully prevent another dental.

PureSea made my dog quite gassy and also had soft poos. I switched to the other non fish varieties and it was a lot better. He's actually on Hills now and does even better on that - finally gained weight and better poos etc. Sometimes you do have to try a few brands to find the right one.

Poor Mandela! Yes hopefully something will work for him - its good you are willing to try things outside the box :)
