  1. Hmmm... just came out of the computer room to find Harper playing with a spider... a Funnel Web Spider!! It's dead and flushed down the toilet now... in an extreme act of bravery on my part (arachnophobe) - but it was definitely a male Funnel Web. Good thing dogs are virtually immune to Funnel Web bites. Have checked her all over, and she appears fine... in fact a little miffed that I wouldn't let her play with it some more before I stomped it and flushed it. Bloody thing must have come out due to the rain we had this evening... grrr! Gonna be fun trying to get to sleep tonight... spiders scare the bejeebus out of me, and I'll bet there will be a Huntsman waiting for me at some point soon too... aarrgghh! T.
  2. Once you've shared your life with a Rotti (or 5)... you'll understand why I'm besotted... *grin* T.
  3. I love Rottweilers over pretty much any other breed - but currently have 4 crossbreed dogs... 2 were additions when I still had a couple of Rotties, and 2 are foster failures from my years in Rescue (all breeds). I WILL have a gorgeous Rotti again - from a breeder I've met here on DOL (and intend to meet in person before she breeds another litter)... life is great with any dog in your life, but for me a Rotti will make it "complete" again. I would like a male with an easy temperament - but not too easy. Confident, yet approachable by strangers. Stunning looks would be a bonus, but not an absolute requirement... *grin*... I'm not looking to show or breed with him. Health testing for known preventable genetic problems mean just as much to a "pet" owner too... Then again, if a female happened to be available that had the temperament I wanted instead of a male, I could be open to another bitch in my life too... but first preference is definitely male. Size or proportion is not paramount, but conformation to the standard is a good thing... I don't need the biggest Rotti on the planet, or the fattest head, or the scariest look... I just want a companion who I can love back as much as he loves me. I expect when the time comes for me to add that Rotti pup to my family, that there will still be a hell of a lot of questions from my chosen breeder before she hands over the goods... lol! T.
  4. Lots of bang crash flash here at the moment... I'm not going out in it... errr! ... it's a bit hard to pry the 28kg scaredy Pitbull off my lap also... *sigh* T.
  5. Whattttttttttttttttttttttttttt monthhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh??????????????????????? :) 27th - 30th March, Orchard Hills Ummm... my birthday is 25th March... *grin* You guys need to remind me when it's on though, because I'm crap at marking anything on a calendar... T.
  6. So now the breeder is willing to sell you this pup, and you are being hesitant about whether you actually now want it? T. What part are you not understanding? It was not until she called me and we spoke again that I posed a particular question to her and she provided me with the answer, had I not asked that question I never would have known…..it certainly did not come up in conversation the first couple of times we spoke on the phone. I'm understanding that your are (rightfully) fussy about what you want in a pup... but are a bit naffed off at breeders who appear to be just as fussy about who they choose to sell a pup to. I've recently decided on a breed (that I've owned before) and a breeder I want a pup from. I could have had one from a recent litter, but the timing is not conducive for me to bring a pup into my hectic life.... but I WILL be travelling to Tasmania sometime before the litter comes up that the timing is right for to meet the breeder and their dogs in person. I live in NSW. True quality is worth waiting for... T.

  8. This breeder does  You are so at the top of my list for my next litter! I hope you've trained that seagull and socialised it responsibly, though! He was a very quick learner with the food rewards - no biting of fingers or snatching what I was putting in my mouth. He waited patiently for his treats which were handed up to him as he sat atop my head. I must have been doing something right, as he stayed on top of my head even after the food had gone - and he didn't "christen" my hair either. T.
  9. Run free Tibor... Huge hugs VM... T.
  10. That was at Circular Quay yesterday afternoon... we had just had lunch, and this chap had been sharing my chips - from his perch atop my head. T.
  11. I had some fosters that were into cows... T.
  12. I'd send this photo of myself... do you think a breeder would see the funny side? *grin* T.
  13. 5 Rotties on the bed? My idea of complete heaven! Which ones like to share your pillow and snore in your ear? I miss that part of Rotti ownership the most... *grin* T.
  14. You better believe it!! Nothing better than sharing my bed with as many Rotties as can fit... T.
  15. I will hold your hand then. :) ... and when I do have my Allerzeit puppy and you want to visit - I'll be checking your bag and/or car when you leave to make sure you don't steal him/her... *grin* T.
  16. I'm going to patiently wait for either Nova's next litter... or Miss Luna's first one... I WILL have an Allerzeit puppy to share my life with one day... T.
  17. Once you've had 10 or more large breed puppies sharing your life for 9-10 weeks, it's really not that hard to see them off to the awesome homes you've lined up for them... trust me! *grin* T.
  18. Purple Luna-tic is staying, yes? Burgundy has a home to go to? T.
  19. Because, with a shift in location - new furniture- odd sounds/smells - YOU are the constant ...and she is keeping it that way! Best answer of the whole thread... Give NILIF a try Don - at least until Jane can come out... T.
  20. So sad... Condolences to the keepers who were so looking forward to a healthy little one. T.
  21. Bonnie Puppy is better value than Supercoat - and pretty much the same formula (except I think the Bonnie has some kangaroo in the mix) - I used to feed litters of rescue pups on Bonnie puppy wih no problems. However, if you can get it, I'd probably go for Royal Canin. Yet to find a pup who has turned their nose up at it... I used to feed poorly pups with Royal Canin Junior, and they thrived on it. T.
  22. What a sweetheart! Please pass on a cuddle from me... T.
