Just Andrea - can you post or PM the name of the vet clinic that treated Gracie please? I'd like to ring through a donation towards her vet bill if I may... assuming they take credit card payments over the phone... T.

It's the angle of the stance she was in Kirislin - the ground is slightly sloped and she was standing stretched... she really is nicely evenly proportioned... *grin* She's also going through a naughty stage right now, but slowly realising that isn't going to get her anywhere. T.

This is awesome news! Way to go Roo and Jelly!! T.

Country Pound Pups - 15 Of Them! 18 Now
tdierikx replied to tdierikx's topic in Dog Rescue (General Rescue Discussion)
They are growing nicely... all in the 10kg weight range now and ready for adoption... Toby has the biggest boofy mastiff styled head and is turning out to be a stunning looking boy. The others all have a more GSD shaped head, but are also stunning looking pups. T. -
Dogs Seized From No Kill Shelter

And it may just be that they reckon that they can intimidate Lola with threats, but not Mark... If Lola is happy for Mark to act for/with her in this matter, then I believe that she legally has that choice. T. -
It's like the first picture (check chain?) It's not the best thing to leave on an unsupervised dog... I'd look up the ones that release when heavy pressure is applied if you have to leave a collar on your dog when you aren't there... T.

We need to work on your resizing program lillypilly... *grin* Kismet came to us 500g lighter than her littermates - but a few days on Royal Canin is catching her up good... T. -
They really seem to be targetting the large scale breeders for the pet market - and no thought for the smaller "hobby" or show breeders... *sigh* T.

Could You Possibly Swap Your Dog For...
tdierikx replied to Kajirin's topic in General Dog Discussion
No probs there MUP - my back door is permanently open, and I don't have a cat, and I have wooden floors that are pretty much impervious to dog poop... Now - Harper may or may not come with 30+ kilos of crazy puppy exuberance, a drive for food to equal no other, and will eat any dog poo in sight before launching at your face for kisses - oh, and she completely ignores the words "no", "stop that", "leave it", or "give"... she may or may not sit or drop on command, depends on whether she feels like it or not... lol! I think I really need to work on some more obedience training with Harper... errr! T. -
Here's the SMH version of the story... http://www.theage.com.au/victoria/poodles-face-ripped-off-in-attack-20130415-2hv8e.html T.

Oh my!! How beautiful is Luka? What a stunning boy... Harper is 7.5 months old now - 30kg and still growing... but I think Luka may be just a touch bigger, don't you? lol! Here she is with a couple of foster pups recently... Nearly as pretty as Luka... *grin* T.

I think you might have found what I would swap any/all of my dogs for... *grin* T. -

There are times I'd happily swap Harper for anything - she's going through "that" age right now, and at 7 months and over 30kgs, I've often threatened her with "I'll take you to the pound"... she just looks at me as if to say "I dare you to"... cheeky monster! All that said - I'd never swap any of my dogs for anything else... T. -
most of my dogs sleep on my bed, and over the years I've found all sorts of revolting things under the blankets or pillows... My current pup has a lovely habit of going outside and selcting herself a nice sized poop, and coming back onto my bed to eat it... ewww! T.

I second that!!! Frodo is a charmer though... but he's getting some grey hairs on his muzzle. How old is he now FM? T.

OMG!!! Me wants the pretty coloured one!!! He is almost as adorable as "my" fawn Frenchie baby... T.

The bolded part is most telling... you aren't overly enamoured of your hubby's choice of pet, yes? Thusly, when he leaves you at home to cope with his pup, you maybe aren't all that interested in entertaining his whinging pup... T.

You can get collars that will release when pulled on hard - that way if you are leaving him unsupervised at home, at least if he gets caught on anything, the collar will come off and he won't be at risk of choking to death. I'm another person who doesn't leave a collar on their dog when they are at home alone - but each to their own. T.

lillypilly likes Lolly... will suit one of these pups to a tee... *grin* We got really busy today with a few adoptions (YAY!), and didn't get to photographing the pups... lilly pilly will try to get some pics of her ones during the week and send them to me for posting, and I'll try to get pics of my ones also... How's this for funny... one of the adopters that turned up today is a local doctor I see every now and then... lovely man, and his wife was also sweet. Bella the Lab is going to be one very spoiled girl methinks! Tyson the Stafford also picked himself a lovely family - he totally clicked with their young son and played so well with him, they fell in love completely. T. -
13 Yr Old Dog On Gumtree
tdierikx replied to LouBon's topic in Dog Rescue (General Rescue Discussion)
I don't frequent Gumtree... too many ads that make me feel ashamed of being human... T. -
Definitely not too much to ask.... Tempeh... I see a very cute tutu in your future... *grin* T.

^^^ this ^^ If you have no syrup or powder, get some ice cream into her - she will love you for it... T.

I've found that female puppies are faster to toilet train than the boy puppies... both tend to work out that pooping outside is preferred, but peeing outside comes earlier for the girl puppies. Maybe like in humans, the boys have smaller bladder sizes? Maybe it's different for adult dogs... ?? When people ask us about which sex is "better" (when looking at puppies), we tend to advise that with pups, either is fine, as it's more about how their owner brings them up... *grin* T.

I'd say it was pretty even in my experience too... T.

I get a 15kg bag of Nutro roughly once a fortnight - to feed 3 large dogs and one medium dog. Full price of the kibble at PetBarn is about $115 - but they often have 18kg bonus bags for that price, or a promo price that can be up to $30 off. sometimes I can get a bag at a wholesale price of $75. My foster pups get Royal Canin Junior, and the rescue buys that - but if I run out before I go out to the rescue on the weekend, I'm happy to ante up for a bag myself. T.
