  1. Bonnie and Clyde are naughty puppies this evening... Harper was trying to tell Clyde not to be a turd, and he told her off! All the way down the hallway! And Bonnie was backing him up! Poor Harper - 30kgs of Horse Dog being trashed by two 5kg naughty puppies. I had to save her and put Bonnie and Clyde in a timeout in their night crate... *sigh* Oh - and they think Trouble must be their mum... they keep looking for her boobies! They only do it to Trouble... weird... maybe she's a similar size and shape to their mum? ... and we still have solid poops even though I didn't give them Scourban this morning... yay! T.
  2. Tell your OH that Rotties and GSDs shed lots... and he will be in charge of the vacuum if he wants one... T.
  3. Be good Roo!! We are all Roo-ting for you girl! T.
  4. Or it's just bombproof... remember that one from a couple of years back we thought was deaf, but he was just not as reactive to strange noises as the rest of the litter - he could hear his name or the food bin opening just fine... *grin* T.
  5. There are good and bad dog owners on both sides of this debate, but I really don't think either side has any particular monopoly of either the "good" or the "bad". To make any blanket statement about either group's "failings" is a bit presumptuous... I don't see why a showie with an intact dog is a less desirable home than anyone else - and in most cases, that would be an ideal home for any dog IMHO. T.
  6. I had a neighbour's cat never leave my yard once... not pretty... T.
  7. How did they pronounce it? They tended to ask for "the poodle pup with the funny name - how do you say that?" T.
  8. Well... I'm refering to my place as the poopie factory at the moment... *grin* But seriously... all that puppy breath and cuddles more than makes up for the amount of poo they can create on a daily basis... The 2 ACD pups I have inside have had the squirts since we wormed them on Saturday - a reaction to the worming pills - and today they have presented me with solid ones... much excitement here over that! Thank you Scourban! Honestly, when you foster pups, you become a connoisseur of all the things that can come out of them... scary but true! I can go to the local vet sans dogs and tell them what treatment/drugs I need and they don't question me before handing over the stuff... and sometimes I've had the vets ring me to ask advice on cases they have. Now THAT is truly scary! I currently have Harper being attacked on 2 fronts behind me - pups really don't care about the size of their playmates... lol! Pickles and Zed are hiding from the puppy madness... T.
  9. Sometimes my Trouble gets called Chubbalubbdubbatrubbabubba... and she loves it! One time at a large and popular dog park Trouble had decided to wander off to play where I couldn't see her... so I'm walking up to people saying "I'm looking for Trouble..." - good thing most of the regulars knew what I was refering to... lol! T.
  10. I named a rescue foster Border Collie pup Timmy, after the dog from the Famous Five... he was an awesome dog! MUP has the best name for her dog... Maybe... ripper name! T.
  11. Yep, just begging for trouble. Speaking of which I'd not give a dog a 'naughty' name.... asking for the dog to live up to it. My Lab is named Trouble... and that was a self fulfilling prophecy... *grin* T.
  12. Our farm dog when I was in high school was named "The Goose" I just named one of my red cattle foster pups "Felony"... named after a friend's dog who looked very similar... my Felony is so cute it's criminal... *grin* The best names ever are given to the rescue dogs at Fetching Dogs... all very unusual but awesome names... I named a champagne coloured rescue poodle pup Moet once... and no-one enquiring about her could pronounce it... somehow I don't think many of them had ever drunk it either... lol! I have to come up with names for the following in the next few weeks... 5 Boxer cross pups - 4 girls and 1 boy 3 Bull Terrier pups - 2 girls and 1 boy 1 Rotti cross pup - boy 3 small breed cross pups - 2 boys and 1 girl ... and possibly 11 Bull Arab cross pups - don't know the sexes of those yet. But already have named 2 ACD pups (Bonnie and Clyde), 3 Heeler pups (Felony, Charm, and Ned Kelly), 1 GSD cross pup (Gemma), 2 Shar Pei cross pups (Percy and Pluto), and 1 Kelpie/Whippet pup (Tarni)... all in the past week! I'm going to aim for slightly quirky or unusual names for the currently nameless ones... but it ain't gonna be easy remembering who is who... aarrgghh! T.
  13. mita - I'm happy for cute furkids to scratch and nibble me... all in a good cause... lol! LG - we should still have these guys the following weekend... *grin* T.
  14. you know you only have them until Saturday lillypilly... they are then coming home with me... *grin* T.
  15. Hahaha! Seems lillypilly couldn't wait for me to have sorted all of the fosters here before getting the BT pups pic up... enjoy the double up peeps... lol! T.
  16. Here are the cuties that arrived today... how gorgeous are they? Many thanks to JaneyA for making room and holding them overnight so they could meet the wonderful Marshall for transport this morning. Thank you also to ninahartland and Rhonda for organising said transport. Without these wonderful people, none of this all could have been possible - true legends, all of them! T.
  17. I Shudder to think what the Neurologists are going to think when they see my altered sensation leg next Tuesday - bruises and scratches that I really didn't feel happening... errr! And the little turds seem to have beelined for that leg in particular... lol! T.
  18. That first shot is definitely a print out and hang on the wall one... awesome! T.
  19. Well - I'm just the biggest dog fan ever. I really am not fussed whether they be from great lines, or just regular run-of-the-mill mutts... I'm up for cuddling them ALL! T. ETA - I currently have 10 rescue foster puppies at home, but that didn't stop me going to the Sydney Royal to cheer on my friend's 2 purebreds... and we weren't disappointed... *grin*
  20. I had a Rotti named Woosie, and have a Labrador named Trouble... *grin* If YOU like the name, who cares if other people don't? T.
  21. Ummm... I think you'll find that the dog in question was pts by the people who "rescued" him from MUP... turns out that MUP was quite right in her summation of said dog and that he needed to be given his wings, but the "professionals" decided that as MUP was new to the game, they knew better and made a big deal of taking him on - and eventually had him destroyed anyways. So maybe we need to give MUP the benefit of the doubt on this issue, yes? T. I am going on how she treated the dog while the dog was with her. I suggest you reacquaint yourself with the threads in question. We can all learn from the things we didn't do to everyone else's expectations Sheridan... and you have to agree that MUP has come a hell of a long way since that first foray into rescue... T. ETA - and the other rescue that took the dog from MUP didn't exactly treat him any better IMHO...

  23. I swear - I'm going to need a skin graft on both lower legs by the time these pups are ready to rehome... they have so much love to give that it actually hurts... lol! You want today's cute antic? Bonnie the ACD pup thinks she's a guard dog... lol! Zeddy decided to bark at someone going by this afternoon, and up pipes little Bonnie with her say on the matter... yip yip... *giggle*... Clyde, of course, just lay there and let the girls do all the "work"... *sigh* Oh - and Charm likes to stand her front feet in the water bowl to have a drink... then come racing over and jump all over you... aarrgghh! I needed muddy legs on top of all the scratches... *grin* T.
  24. Better to ultrasound... the amniotic fluid is somewhat opaque on x-ray. T.
  25. I'm giving heaps of notice... only need some pics on or around Friday... *grin* T.
