Mine all dream and run and twitch in their sleep. Usually they make little noises but very occasionally one will do this mournful howl that makes the hairs in the back of my neck stand up. I never wake them from it though. It's me who gets spooked.

thanks, I did see the thread but assumed it was a thread for puppy nutrition not adult dogs.

thanks

Just reading the blurb about VAN on vets 'n pets direct, it says you only need to soak it for 24 hours and then add it to meat, does that mean the veggies are already in the mix too?

report it. It they really are and they're making them accessible to anyone with $1000 they need to be stopped.

New Survey For Dog, Cat, Bird And Rabbit Owners
Kirislin replied to tjhowell's topic in General Dog Discussion
I just did it for one dog. -
Yep, I'd agree with condensation. When Penny had her puppies I slept in the room with her for the first week or so on a little foam mattress directly on a lino floor. I was very surprised to see how wet it was underneath, and I definitely didn't wet the bed.

Attaching A Gopro Camera To A Dog Harness
Kirislin replied to Lollipup's topic in General Dog Discussion
I'd love to put one on a whippet at one of our fun days. -
It was fairly obvious that this was a troll thread.... agree.

the OP hasn't been back since starting this thread.

I think it's a boy, I can see the spur on its back flipper foot.

they're so cool, excellent shots. I wish they'd come to my dam, but I think it's too far away from rivers. Is it a family or a single platy? Is it timid of you?
-
I'm glad they're not here. There's already too many idiots here with powerful dogs they cannot or will not train and care for properly.

I wonder how she manages to eat! I hope she gets the care she will need for the rest of her life.

My 2 oldest whippets, (10 months between them) started out as great mates but when the younger one matured she wanted to be top dog. For their whole lives now I've had to be careful with them. We've had about 3 really nasty fights that required the vets. I am constantly managing the situation, it requires vigilance and dedication.

It isnt a bull breed bashing thread, its a stupid owner bashing thread. Mantis, gillbear is right. And the evidence.... not opinion .... supports it. There was a study done covering different dog breeds, & the factors connected with a dog's predictability to be aggressive were largely what humans did.... or did not do.... with the dog. It's good to see the human factors getting emphasis in a thread like this ... in a world, that so frequently believes that a dog's behaviour is totally linked with specific breed. Human factors that have set up a 'dog attack' incident are never mentioned in media accounts of dog bites/attacks. But the label of some 'breed' always is. You always put things so well.

I would prefer to let mine mature.

Wow! So a few months ago some one had a couple of pups, now those pups would only be what 6 months old (they really are not that big at 6 months). They needed surgery from intervening between a couple of 6 month old pups? So they euthed a pup?? Again wow! Zig was 6 months old when I got him from the pound - there is no way he could have caused me damage enough to warrant surgery. Pups usually respond to a good yell and they let go quick smart. I think your friend is telling porky pies :) (just my opinion of course, with the little bit of experience I have with bull breeds). But you get no argument from me about BYBing of ANY breed.. My whippet puppies gashed Feathers neck open when they still had their milk teeth. It sliced through her skin like a razor and I could see her jugular pulsing underneath. Puppies can be very savage. Oh, and it wasn't an accident. They fought several times always drawing blood, I eventually had to rehome one when she was about 14months old.

English Toy Terrier Needs A New Home
Kirislin replied to Her Majesty Dogmad's topic in Dog Rescue (General Rescue Discussion)
she's very cute. If I didn't have so many dogs I'd probably be a suitable home for her, but I am not in a position to take her on. Anyway, looks like it's on hold. I hope her situation sorts itself out. -
I'm guessing alot of you have seen this, but for those who haven't yet. My link

I let my dogs eat the whole egg. I dont give them very much though, probably only once or twice a month, apart from the ones they manage to steal directly from the nesting box!
