  1. what about this one? Heaps cheaper, what's the diff, no image stabiliser perhaps. http://www.dwidigitalcameras.com.au/store/...p?idProduct=163
  2. are you sure that tongue isn't just a stick on thing? He's such a little cutie.
  3. I have heard of some cards bought on ebay being counterfiet, be careful.
  4. I'm definitely a hobby photographer, it's just in case I loose or break something when I'm out, or it gets stolen. They tell me it's new for old replacement. I hope I dont have to test it.
  5. you might be better off just buying it from a camera shop, not sure how much they are in shops but I suspect DWI charges alot for postage even on small items, although I'm not sure. Check before you buy.
  6. to me her face and colour are more whippety than greyhoundy but her size means there's got to be something else in there. whatever she is, she's lovely.
  7. I've got a sandisk extreme 8gb 60mb.It's been fine.
  8. I've just gathered all my camera gear together and updated my insurance. It's added a bit more onto my home contents but it covers me if I should loose or break any of it while I'm out. I think it's worth the extra for the security. Does anyone else have their gear covered?
  9. If it's in storage it might be confined spaces, in which case you might need the 18-55 but I'm not sure how well that would cope if the conditions are poorly lit. If you have a bit of room to step back I'd probably suggest the 50mm assuming it's either 1.4 or 1.8 Hopefully someone with a bit more knowledge with chime in for you.
  10. very whippetyish and or greyhoundyish. If someone told me it even had a bit of saluki or one of those similar breeds but with short hair in there I'd believe them. I think it will grow into a lovely dog but I cannot see any american staffy in it.
  11. There's a woman on another forum I am on who's just written of her grief upon loosing her whippet and it is so so deep and terrible she cannot function normally, I just dont know what to say, I found myself just clearing out of the thread, running away. Part of me dreads that I too might feel that terrible if I should loose my animals, and it also reminds me of a time I think I was close, the death of my first whippet Magic. I cannot offer her any words of comfort, I just find myself thinking I hope I never get so low. I dont know if I am allowed to quote what she has written.
  12. every photo I looked at I thought ooh, that's nice. You've certainly got them sorted. That's a beautiful husky too. I love all the head shots especially. Well done. aren't you thrilled you got them.
  13. isn't she cute. certainly paying attention, you'll be able to ask her what happened if you missed a bit.
  14. This is from a few years ago with a friends point and shoot. Penny and Feather, with their rocky racoon toy to keep them company same borrowed camera. the view when I lifted the blankies and probably one of the reasons I am an early riser, cause there's no room for me!
  15. mmm I love pork too but I think you meant to write mopoke but it's definitely and owl. lol!!! no, she meant to write morepork! A morepork is a very similar owl to the little owl, whereas the mopoke from what I can find it an australian nick name for the tawny frogmouth?? Not sure. lol! Oh! now that really is funny. I now see she's also overseas. My apologies Staranais, seems you were right after all
  16. mmm I love pork too ;) but I think you meant to write mopoke but it's definitely and owl.
  17. that's terrible Maybe if you leave it somewhere some kind soul will steal it and you can then claim it on insurance?
  18. He's an exceptionally pretty colour. He almost has some blonde highlights. His sister (also retired) was in the backyard with him and she's the darker brown brindle. He's more of an orangy blonde. So many colour variations in greys and whippets.
  19. Oh! it's beautiful. Lucky your mum knows what she's doing for him.
  20. Earlier this year, this greyhound Drill 'em was the top stayer in the country winning almost all before him and breaking a track record in the process. He won over $250,000 in stakes, 5 races being group races. Then he got injured and for a long time and his trainer kept hoping he'd recover so it was never a big announcement that he is retiring. So now, he's just a dog in a backyard, he doesn't let that fame go to his head. I went to visit him today and he's just a big happy goofy boy, and now he's just called Scooter, and I think he is beautiful, and he's got a very very long tongue Photo bomber
  21. thanks Frodos mum and Snook. I wish I was clever enough to tweak it a bit to lighten Puckys head but my photos are pretty much straight out of camera.
  22. great shots, I haven't had much success with birds. Yes, the corella does look drunk :p
