January Photography Challenge - Launched Early
Kirislin replied to Ashanali's topic in Photos, Photos, Photos
On my way home from Melbourne I called into Jimmy Possums. I'd like to take this home but at over $8000 I must grudginly accept it's out of my price range. -
The Feline/canine Fight - Who Wins
Kirislin replied to WildatHeart's topic in General Dog Discussion
What a great set of pics. The cat looks really scary in the first and fifth ones. I love it when dogs and cats play together. -
aww you're a sweetheart for giving me a plug Chewy but I dont think the sort I make would be what Sue is after. I work with roo hide only so any leads made by me would be plaited, not the solid cow hide I think she wants. Every now and then I toy with the idea of doing some leather work in cow but I like my roo too much, and I dont need nearly as many tools.

Yep, it's actually a very out of focus blade of grass. I've just spent the last 30mins trying to clone it out but I cannot get the blue water background even enough so I've given up. -

thanks for the comments on my bee pic. I went back to try for some better ones. They're tricky little critters and I had more fails than successes. This was about the best I could get. The blue in the background isn't sky, it's a lake. Updated 1st Feb I had a go in Photoshop to try to clone out the smudge. I found it's better than the program DPP that comes with the camera. Still not perfect but better. I doubt anyone will see this now but I feel better -

While walking the first shift at the park this morning. I've still got the second shift to do, I might take my camera back there and try for a better shot. I had to tweak the colour though for some reason it came out really drab. -

Yeah I love it too. We saw some great games... BUT I spent quite a bit of time really wanting to go play with these guys Seats on the 2nd day werent as close as the 1st so I made Cam sneak into the members section with me so I could get some half decent shots. We nearly lasted a whole set before we got a tap on the shoulder I wonder what the $ value of all that photography equipment is worth. -
Cop Accused Of Cruelty After Taking Two Shots To Kill Kangaroo
Kirislin replied to Steve's topic in In The News
Well, I suppose if he'd taken to it with an axe he could've got its head off in one clean chop. I wonder what those who are being critical of him would think then. Poor roo, and I feel sorry for the cop. He did his best in the circumstances. I am sure he wanted it over as quickly and cleanly as possible. -
awwww putting on his most alluring face for you. Mwah!

I always know when this kookaburra is about because the blackbirds go completely bonkers and wont shut up until it leaves. It's quite wary of people though, and this is the first time I've been able to get a photo of it. That gum tree in the bakground is the same one those cockies were in a few days ago when the skies were looking ominous. -

Every evening when the sun sets it shines through the crystal ornament I have on the window sill, and makes pretty rainbows around the house, and even on whippets if I can get them standing in the right place. -
mine love it too. Puck thinks it's a prize worth growling at the other for. Once when I defrosted the freezer I got a big snowy sheet out and threw it in the yard. They went nuts over it. Mine will also bob for ice cubes in the water.

good job Annie! -
Oh sorry, I probably gave you the wrong impression. I was looking after her for about 7 weeks while her owners are over seas. She absolutely stole the heart of everyone she met. So full of fun and affection, it was very tempting to lie when I got the phone call that it was time for her to go home. I could've quite happily said oh, she ran away, sorry

What Breed Is The Highest Jumper?
Kirislin replied to jess live die's topic in General Dog Discussion
I would've thought keplie. I know there was a bloke who used to cross whippets with kelpie purely to train for dog high jumps. dont know if they were better than the kelpies though, and of course you asked what breed and thats a x breed so doesn't count. -
gee I miss that little girl

thanks ...I think Oh yes, it's meant as a compliment, haven't you ever seen those magnificent Black bulls standing proudly all balls and muscle and attitude? Sorry Frodo, I haven't noticed if you have balls or not. something like this http://www.flickr.com/photos/peewee_1/63692688/

I've got to plant these things, they're just sitting in one of my water gardens right by my back door to remind me. They are thriving there though so I am tempted to leave some there for good, they have the prettiest leaves rimmed with a fine red line. Anyway I was playing around with depth of field, taken with the 50mm not quite wide open, one stop short at 1.6. here's another wider view with more accurate white balance too. I mucked around with the other one. -

I love this, are you in or near the Hunter Valley? -
No, I haven't heard of it and dont feel bad because you hadn't found it before now. I checked all the puppies in both litters over carefully and had them examined by a vet as well. I cannot recall looking for ear canals though. I hope it wont affect the little one long term. Hopefully it has good hearing in the other ear, he has got one good ear hasn't he.

If One More Person Asks Me...... Grrrr
Kirislin replied to pixie_meg's topic in General Dog Discussion
At least they still recognise they are dogs...........of some sort. A friend of mine was walking her blue whippet near the Botanic Gardens and was stopped by a tourist bus driver who called all his passengers over to see the kangaroo. She kept insisting Hugo was a whippet, a dog, but the driver kept correcting her and telling her it was a kangaroo! -
Dont say it's not much, it's great. Good on you, and you managed to get your logo in there too ;) I hope it brings you more work.

terra that blue bottle is warm like an oil painting. This is turning into the prettiest thread. ;)
