  1. Great add...I think Canon should have had the actual photographers on the add...and perhaps a voiceover if that suited.
  2. Thanks...sorry if you think I was "after trade secrets LOL" wasnt trying to offend ...just a newbie wanting to explore the concepts of PS and its applications. I am always amazed at the photos shown and sometimes just have trouble getting in my mind what the befores might have been....Thank you JS for the info. KJA thank you for the reference.
  3. Just popped in on my way to relite the candle... I am heartened to hear of your steady progress. Prayers of healing will continue.
  4. wow those photos are great! If arborists get wind of their activities they might get declared as dangerous dogs under the botanical Act ! Gotta love their conviction in what they are doing.
  5. OK....I have printed off some pics with the new calibration- my daytime colors look just great! However, my night/flash photos still have a yellow cast- yet in lightroom the whites look white, photos look bright/vibrant yet in print quite wrong. The overall print is a dull soft yellow- like the brightness has been halved. Any ideas? I have read online about d/l test pictures for print...and I am considering Digital Works for a test- do they feedback on issues?? I am happy to put the blame on me- but I just want to get these things right. Frustrating is an understatement.
  6. Awesome pic becncharch...did you use a filter at all?
  7. Cant get link to work-just a lot of letters n stuff (Computer language) No foxtel....looks like ill have to wait for utube Is it avail on canon site????
  8. Those moments you have captured are priceless. please put a link in photos thread or double post to there- love them.
  9. My old girl is quite blind and often gets lost in her return to the house. I tell Luci to 'get Mimi'- so she does. If I say 'birdie' she goes to my cockateil and sits. 'Mouse' gets her to check the traps. 'Doggie lol lols" means a treat is in order. 'Doggie doctor' means a trip to the vet. "Who did this?' means she will make herself scarce- often to the kids rooms from who she learnt that behaviour...
  10. Cool...for further posts can we brief what has been done. Thanks Ravyk for taking the time to post for this. It shows the development of the final shot.
  11. Caught this boy on one of my walks...he kept barking at my camera as I approached. Once I took his picture I was his best friend and he wanted to follow me.
  12. Just popped in to see how everyones holding up...ahhhh the smell of coffee. I dont like to sit in waiting rooms normally, but this one is different. Its full of friendly faces, hopeful smiles and a feeling of positivety. What a wonderful bunch the DOL people are. My candle shines bright for you Jed. You have my prayers. I was delighted to hear the progress you made today, and not surprised to hear you were asking after other people, your caring nature is your strength. I will be back again, this place is full of love.

    Rex

A beautiful capture Ripley. My condolances to you MonElite on the passing of wonderful Rex. I have had the pleasure of a dobe as a companion - they are truly a breed apart. Keep safe your memories and knowing the gift you had in Rex.
  14. Smart Doggie- securing his fav possie while the others are outside otherwise occupied!
  15. Thats it! That was the picture! I knew I wasnt dreaming it! Well Id like to revive it for some fresh encouragement.....any takers????
  16. Stairs.....not my favorite invention. Love the colors in that picture becncharch. Surely thats not Melbourne LOL
  17. Owned by Poodles here. My family had minature poodles and I lived near a breeder/exhibitor of the breed, so I truly fell in love with the breed. When I moved out of home into rental I purchased my first toy poodle for company. Added bonus was no shedding no smell.....made it easier for landlords to accept a resident dog. The happy temperament of a poodle was a big plus.
  18. Photoshop treatments....have we had a thread where a before after PS has been shown? Just think it would be interesting for us PS newbies/those thinking of getting PS to get a grasp on what we can achieve.
  19. For me at the moment its 50/50. If I really need to 'get it right' and have no time to play (Im still learning) I use auto/ man focus. If I have time to play then its manual: I want to learn my camera.
  20. I use the grey no touch ones if I have to. My Luci fancies herself as a mouser- she has caught a few. I must admit though Luci now uses the traps to her own benefit- her joy is to get up in the morning race out and check if any of the traps have worked. She is delighted and runs back to get me if theres a body there! Is she a prissy poodle (too posh to chase?) or is she smart enough to condone the use of mousing aids????? Never had a problem with these traps around dogs....stay clear though with puppies.
