  1. he needs to get the puppy warmed up asap. It is no good feeding them while they are chilled. Put the pup under his clothes up against his chest.
  2. The greyhound people had a greyt day! Very enjoyable. Well done to Shantiah on having the BOB and RUBOB. Great effort.
  3. best not to pass on his good looks along with some nasty disease that would see the death of a pup or two or more! Good on you for thinking straight
  4. Congratulations! It's a great feeling :D
  5. My pup came from a show breeder and still has her dewclaws (but she isn't mains registered). some breeds have their's left on.
  6. do not give heartworm preventative if they have not been tested negative.
  7. it's not SLO? I would be seriously considering removing the toe if there is a strong chance infection could get into the bone.
  8. if the vet can't say what the problem is then how can the blame be laid at your door? I'd be writing down everything you can recall from your conversations, how long they had the pup and how old was it before any sign of illness happened. Do you have any emails or letters from these people? I'd be printing them out if you do.
  9. Can I give you a baby Whippet to take out and about. You can give it back when the destructo mutt wrecks something ? LOL it sounds safer to stick with the Malinois! Totally. I have a baby grey at the moment and they're little monsters My favourite trackpants are full of teeth holes from him exercising his prey drive, I have about one pair of shoes left (the others are spread far and wide through the house, usually found with bits of raw meat hidden in them) and he's so naughty that all three of the adult greys we have at the moment are scared of him. Baby sighthounds.. *eye twitch* my baby greyhounds have always been a pleasure :D no ripped cloths or chewed shoes here. You will be getting something sent to you in a large cardboard box. It's definitely not a naughty baby who likes to chew cardboard boxes. The box may be damaged >.> My GSD's when pups were much naughtier then any grey baby I have had. Will said box have air holes? Air holes (and foot holes, head holes, escape holes, holes to reach through and steal anything that isn't nailed down, etc) will be made en route. It might not be so much a box that you receive, rather, a heap of soggy, chewed cardboard stuck to something that might look like a naughty greyhound baby (but I can assure you, it's totally not such a creature, pinky swear on it :D
  10. agree and in that case PTS would be the kindest thing for the dog. Having some do-gooder try to "heal" it would be very cruel. However most dogs do seem to be able to adapt very quickly thankfully.

  14. this rings alarm bells for me, what's going on inside of her?
  15. maybe it was discussed with the powers that be and they were allowed to register the pups?
  16. no, most of us don't let our dogs run amok killing anything they see.
  17. sorry but it is not the dogs fault it is your's for letting an untrained dog off lead to roam around. You knew she was interested in hunting them out and did nothing about it.
  18. I wouldn't vaccinate. But this is not about an ill dog that can't be done, it's about choosing not to even give the puppy shots. If it was about a puppy that had something that prevented it being vaccinated then we would all have to do what we think is best for the puppy. That would be for another thread I reckon.
  19. have a bit of a read here and elesewhere about raw diets. Lots of info and lots of it conflicting! No straight answers really. but, yes please source all raw meat and bones from supermarkets or your local butcher. You need to buy human grade. Don't just feed meat without feeding a calcium source ie bone. Otherwise you will do more harm then good. I would keep your pup on dry food for another few months and add things to his diet like sardines, raw whole egg, yoghurt, etc. Make one meal raw chicken necks or wings. Steer away from weetbix etc, your pup does not need added cerals to his diet. A bit of left over pasta or rice is fine as long as it's not everyday. Same with vegies, just cook a tiny bit more when you do your own, couple of times a week. No need to get to specific at this time as long as the pups main diet is a good dry. This will give you time to research :) ETA talk to your breeder as well, that's what they are there for :D and also, if you signed a contract, you might void any warranty by feeding different to what the breeder said.
  20. Poking around shows me there is no "make my page invisible" options for the home page, so just don't put your link out until you are happy with the home page. All the other pages have make page invisible available.
  21. Plus try web design and you might be able to change colour there.
