  1. Anyone I know who has treated a bitch with meds has also been advised to breed on the next heat. Which you can't do. Spey is the lesser of 2 evils I feel. Still very very hard to agree to for you though. And with you also laid up........ I wish you and Amber all the best and will be sending good vibes down your way
  2. The bigger the dog the more it costs as they gave to have a GA to be done. The actual scoring is around $100 for both hips and elbows. You need to find a vet that is familiar with doing it as incorrectly positioned dogs can get worse scores then they actually have or even have to re do them. The xrays are sent away to be scored by one of several vets in the country. Cost me about $400 to get xrays recently in my 32 kilo bitch. Your breed club should be able to help you find an experienced vet.
  3. $52 over 10 years is only $5.20 per year, even cheaper rego. either one is cheap, stop whinging and pay it
  4. $192 over 10 years is only $19.20 a year, very cheap rego
  5. Basically you are just whinging cause you have to pay more for your entire dog then someone else has to pay for their desexed dog. BooHoo
  6. You hijacked this thread which is against forum rules and then you abuse others when you don't like their replies. Suggest you delete your comments before Troy does so for you after I report you.
  7. Don't know why some of you are laying into Scootaloo. They clearly stated they saw a video this morning which has made them feel hostile to some types of dogs. Nowhwere did they say they only believe "those" types of dogs can and do attack. Obviously the video they saw has upset them greatly.
  8. Can you confine her to the area where she can get access to outside i.e the kitchen or laundry. I must admit I wouldn't trust a 6 month old loose in the whole house. I have a 9 1/2 year old Princess who detests getting her feet wet. We argue at the start of every winter with me standing out in the rain until she goes before letting her back into the house. After a couple of reminders she's pretty good for the rest of the year but still sometimes pees on the carpet on the back verandah. Her grand daughter, at nearly 2, shows the same inclination but isn't quite as bad. I'd go back to taking her outside and rewarding when she goes out in the rain
  9. I layer coats and only use polar fleece ones. Have coats From Annie K, dishlickers and The Wolfs Den. I found any over the head types too hard to get on for my older greyhounds.
  10. Hoping Maddison improves for you. Huge hugs, she is a lucky girl to have you.
  11. I'd just do a straight swap allowing for the pup maybe having an unsettled tummy anyway due to the flight, new home etc and possibly under feed for a day or two. You could also ask you breeder to make sure your pup is used to things like chicken necks and wings ( depending on breed and size ) and maybe a couple of different things that you like to feed. As a breeder I'd have no trouble doing that for one of my puppy people.
  12. your pup needs another vaccination at 12 weeks or more. I only do C3 with my pups at 8 weeks and 12 weeks. I know of no vaccinations that complete the puppy course at 8 weeks of age.
  13. that's handy to know. My girl had a phantom after her 1st season, seemed to really affect her so I might try the tablets next time. Her mother has had to have medical intervention in the past her phantoms are so bad, but her grandmother never had one.
  14. I bought a couple of those to use in the dog crates at shows. I don't use them at home cause my dogs scratch up their bedding so they ended up upsidedown. I have used corded heated pet beds very successfully inside for both dogs and cats. The odd one has been moved around but not very often
  15. Here you go LisaCC Fern and Phoebe on a small 2 seater couch. Still room for the cat at the end if she wanted
  16. I'll have to look for a photo or take one  But yes they can curl up very tight! Does Phoebe have a onesie, um not quite, but between 3 greys I think my last count was 20 odd coats of various sizes and weights Phoebe at nearly 2 still likes to pull her coats off so she mainly wears a Wolfs Den coat that zips up the back, she can't get that off.
  17. Phoebe greyhound is currently curled into a dog ball and it is not cold here at the moment, far from it. I usually feel their ears.
  18. I'd 2nd a short coated dog. Maybe a Jack Russell or similar. I'd be thinking of an older dog as well, maybe an ex show dog, who is already used to travelling around. And usually already toilet trained. You can meet them and get an idea of their temperament. You don't want a very bold, over confident dog nor a shrinking violet as you will be meeting lots of different people and dogs.
  19. sounds like you might be dodging a bullet but I did just want to say one thing. I work nightshift and often reply to emails at weird times so not all 2am replies are from scammers :D
