  1. 3 , have had 5, depends on the dogs as to how easy it is. 2 is more practical, not sure I can narrow it down to 2 breeds tho!
  2. I'm not changing my dallys diet, he is very old and weak, and on borrowed time I fear, so no point in upsetting his tum. I do go to the gym at Stanhope which has a Costis ,so can look there, I don't go to Rouse much, too big. I will try my Woolies too, they seem to have days when they have lots of livers and kidneys etc, then sometimes none, perhaps I will ask at the meat counter if he gets them often.
  3. where do you get salmon heads? I shop at wollies, I could try the fish shop , do I have to ask for them?
  4. buying it from woolies and I just slice it up. should clarify, their evening meal is roo mince with vans, I am just adding a little liver every other night, alternating with egss, and sardines too. I did get some kidney too this week, the hearts seem to make them all poo runny tho. good idea the add the liver to the drumsticks tho, will give it a go. I was given roo tail bones yesterday by a neighbour and they loved them.

  6. I fed the liver raw and they ate it,( is mixed in with VANS to hide it though),i gave them another dose last night and poop this morning less firm again( it firmed up inbetween liver meals). will continue every few days with just a few little bits added.
  7. They all get a drumstick for brekky, which I was counting on covering the bone ratio.
  8. I'd love a lurcher, not a recognized breed though I don't think? With plenty of stag mix's in the country pounds that will be my next dog.
  9. well I started to add a little liver last night , sliced it up and froze it in portions. both poops this morning a little softer, normally firm, so will miss the liver tonight and add every other to start with. I gave them hearts a few days ago with no probs. Typically Woollies had lots of liver and kidneys the other day, but wasn't sure which to buy then, yesterday they had none when I wanted some  im going to add eggs to a couple of meals, and fish so each day isn't the same.
  10. Hmmm, big poo eater here too
  11. Yes spots after reading them I don't feed beef either. I feel much happier now, i just need to tweek what i am doing atm, adding more fish, and organ meat,( not to the dallys diet tho), and less Vans i think. It was good to know about adding liver a little at a time, not too much, and i am keen to try it as my BTs immune system is shot, and it says it helps it.
  12. sorry, I was thinking of tinned sardines, I certainly can look at getting a piece of fish, salmon or sardine and freezing it up, hadn't even thought about it.
  13. I should have looked in this thread first Trifecta, I'm thinking of doing this... Keep using the minced roo ,( chicken mince for dally) as main meal , and then add livers to 2 meals a week, kidneys to another one, and use only a small portion of vans instead of half and half like now. Also adding fish here and there, and their usual drumstick for brekky. I do give any veggies I have left over aswell. I havn't seen any kidneys yet, just livers and hearts, are hearts ok ?
  14. Thanks for the info. I just popped to woolies and was surprised they do have chicken hearts and livers, lamb hearts and livers. I could feed the dally on the chicken livers and hearts, fish is high in purine too, so not good for him either. I do give them a tin of sardines each once a week. I thought that hearts were classed as organ meat,so have learnt something  I bought some hearts as they were reduced by half, so will freeze them and add them gradually. Den, if you could download the beginners guide and the dally bit that would be lovely, I am a bit computer illiterate ( read, old!)
  15. So, the other thread on VANS got me looking at what PDR was and now I think I shouldn't be feeding VANS at all as dogs don't need grains, is this right? I feed 2 of mine roo meat , and my old dally on chicken mince as he cant have red meat due to stones forming ( he has had 2 blockages over the years). They also all get a chicken drumstick for brekky. So, reading on PDR it seems I may have the meat content covered, and the drumsticks cover the bone ratio, so liver, where do others source it? can I just give it once a week to cover the required ratio? and other organ meats, what would people suggest? I am concerned about all this red meat for my dally tho. so to concur, do others just feed meat? no veggies etc? I need an idiot guide to feeding it please
  16. Reading between the lines it sounds like you have had enough ,but don't want to pts, and are hopeing someone will take her. Not going to happen. You have nothing to lose by getting an opinion from one of the trainers Pers listed, then you can decide wether its something you can deal with or not.
  17. Mine love it too, and I have never had so many comments on how good my BT looks now. I feed roo for 2 of them and chicken mince for one who cant have red meat. I tend to put more water in than it says or it ends up a sticky stodge. I find it very expensive tho, if I could find something easy to make up myself I would give it a go.
  18. They were a Dol legend, I really miss seeing them.
  19. Bonn would sit anywhere and not move  She passed the temp test to do the school education programme, but I couldn't commit to it a couple of years ago. I could do one day a month if you think her breed would be ok?
  20. Another boy here too please I loved sheks boy too, were they related ? Actually on second thoughts, I am over pups and distruction and housetraining, can I order a ready made older one please
  21. I posted a comment on the nine news page, after I read all the whingers complaining about the council. Owners have signed its death warrant and now are trying to pass the buck, idiots.
  22. Love Zeph too I fell in love with the breed after walking Reddogs 2 when he had surgery, his boy Mav stole my heart and made me want one.
  23. I don't think surgeons pick up poo, they get one of their minions to do it don't they.
  24. so they could have given him a $22,000 penalty, but didn't? he is a surgeon, and yet still they don't give him the toughest monetary fine. scumbag.
