Are We Overthinking/over-reacting To Our Dogs' Behaviours?
juice replied to tdierikx's topic in General Dog Discussion
I often think I was happier when I had no clue. I do watch people with other dogs , the dog park for example, and I'm sure I have become far more wary of situations that I wouldn't have cared about before. -
The vet doesn't know what he is talking about. Its more likely because she is telling him its not his job to ward off the other dog but hers as she is in charge. The order is not sorted, and it will continue when situations like this arise unless you get help from someone other than a vet!

The human form in tablets is much cheaper, has anyone tried these?

DM, which one do you use? wouldn't mind some for Appollo and me!

Trying To Find The Breeder With Herizon Prefix
juice replied to SoCares Wyong ACF's topic in General Dog Discussion
He may be a nice person, however he needs to think about the people he is attracting to his breed with a site like that, its just a shame. I would run a mile from that site and I love bull breeds. What is wrong with her? -
Trying To Find The Breeder With Herizon Prefix

Not stereotypical at all!!! Great for the breed.........not  All class, no guessing which one. :D -
And all this has taken over 10 years, the emotional stress to the owners must have been immense They do seem to use the law when it suits them and they have no consistency.

All the white BT's I have had ,have had them, they have no hair on top of their muzzle ,just pink skin. I have been known to squeeze Bonns when she lays in the sun asleep, just goes to show how rock solid her temp is

I think we are all wary of certain breeds , for one reason or another. You could argue that the women had no idea about her dogs intentions, or the dog could be perfectly safe and you read it wrong. Caution is fine I would say in a small area. Our vets isn't that big either, I am normally on the receiving end of people running out when they see mine ( who is normally fast asleep in a heap anyway) I have met dogs on walks loose I have had to stand in front of my dogs to ward them off. Better safe than sorry in your case I would say.

Plus don't forget, vets have a hidden agenda when they stock the food. I had one vet tell me I shouldn't be feeding raw as my dog would get salmonela
-
I would listen to what cassie says, vets do not know about feeding , they will have an opinion, like everyone else ,but its best to go with someone who know the breed , or risk health issues later which your breeder wont back you on.

thanks, will do

I would be interested in all the options too, my 13 yr old dally is very wobbly and his back end is giving way daily now. He is on fish oil, Glucosomine tabs and Mobic daily, but anything else I can give him would be worth a shout, I will go and research all the suggestions.

7am ish, and 6pm ish depending on the season, basically after their evening walk.

They don't present well in the pounds either, I took one who was so terrified in the pound he froze and peed when you tried to move him, got him home and he was a terror
-
I have also found the red ones even tougher? I would love a pure one next time, I think mine is watered down with a bit of BC or kelpie.

I have a neighbour who has one, its his 4th since he has lived here. First two came when he moved in, really old red boy, very territorial, bailed my daughter up twice on our lawn when he wandered this way. I got used to him over the years, but would never pat him, he died at 18 , 2 years ago. The blue one was fear aggressive, and bit the lady who lived next dooR on the thigh, twice, chased my son on his bike and bit the pedal, he was eventually sent away ( to rellies in the country, where he came from, when the ranger paid him a visit). He then bought a gorgeous blue pup from a breeder, on terms, best cattle dog I met( I would love one from this breeder , stunning dog), big chunky lovable boy, loved everyone, but he had a disagreement with breeder, and one day came home and he was gone. He now has a red pup, fearful of everything, stays hidden behind him and barks at you.( he also now has a kelpie x poodle). I have a cattle x , I love the breed, they are loyal and smart, but mine took a lot of socializing , and he will nip ankle's and nose's , so he isn't given the chance. I would say a great breed, but need to get a solid temp and put lots of wotk in.

I wish the media would expose them for what they are, so people stop giving them money, that hits them the hardest. -

Recovery From Bleeding In The Spine...

I would go back for the follow up, and ask about getting the CT scan and referral and see what he says. Happy to meet the girls there any day , call me :) -
I had a young girl come over to my dogs at the dogpark and started to give them treats! I told her to stop , I was furious! who gives a child treats to give random dogs in a dogpark!
-
yeah, this is not going to go away, and it will and has already escalated. keep them apart, get help, not from a franchise . get help and accept it may never be happy families again for these two.
