I know its not a run, but my patio where my dogs are has a concrete floor and I have the highest uv laserlite over the top. The floor never gets hot, unlike the fake grass which does with ho shade.

Prescription Medication Online
juice replied to truehorseaddict's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Yes, please post the online store as I would be interested. My vet happily writes a script for me, one of mine is on 'Mobic" and its $30 at the vets, $12.50 at my chemist. I did find an overseas online chemist last year who was selling Optimmume for about a quarter of the price I pay for it, vet wrote a script for me too, only when it ariived it was like water and turned out to be another brand and did nothing for her, when I read the smallprint in the add it said they used similar products to the real thing, didn't stop them using pics of the original thou in the listing. -
People should be judged on their own merit. If people work I would ask what provision was in place for the pup during the day early on. ( I was paid by a neighbour to go in everyday and play with their pup outside and feed him for 6 weeks at lunchtime), perhaps this idea could be suggested. Education is the key, turning people down with a blanket statement only reinforce's the theory that breeders are just snobs. On the other side people can tell you any old crap to get a pup, you don't know if they drop the dog at their parents or take it to work with them.

[melbourne] Morons Letting Off Fireworks
juice replied to PepitoVFR's topic in General Dog Discussion
we have a family up the street that let fireworks off every new year at 12 in the stormwater gully out the front. my dally is inside but barks at every bang ,I have tried going to bed but he wakes me up, so I end up staying up till at least 1am and then I'm tired the next day, I hate it. -
Depends if you just want it to look the part or actually do something, my bully looks the part, although not really big enough ,but its my cattle you have to watch. Its something I think about too as when I retire I would like to be a bit more isolated and will be alone, ( pending someone sweeping me off my feet in the meantime) , and I thought a rotty would be a good choice, I love the big bears, and pretty offputting I would think to a stranger.

Perhaps thats the reason we see so many kids who show the attitude of self entitlement. I don't take public transport often, but went to Soundwave with my daughter on the train as it was easier than parking, she travels often on the train. An elderly lady got on the train, clearly a bit fragile, before I could say anything my daughter had jumped up to offer her a seat, none of the males on the train did, and one even tried to sit in it as she was offering it up!
-
But a chair is a chair, not a dogbed. Nobody said dogs were objects, but they are not human ,they are dogs, perhaps that's whats missing.
-
Chairs were not invented for dogs to sit on, and i'm sure vet practice's put them in for humans, i don't see why its hard to be respectful. I'm off to the mentioned vet to gets meds in the morning i might report back about how many dogs are on seats
-
I used the word "mollycoddle" in regards to owners whose dogs are growling and snarling at my non reactive dog, whilst the owner pats and cuddles them telling them its ok the nasty looking dog won't hurt them. I have no problem with dogs on laps if it makes them feel more secure. However my point is its not my property ,so I treat it with respect, and I will say again, germs have nothing to do with it, I don't want to sit on dog hair.
-
I'm not worried about catching something, I just don't want to sit on dog hair and dribble, perfectly reasonable to assume that people would have more respect for other people's property. :)
-
Looks like I will be fine then as mine stay on the floor . :) I will look for the signs next time I pop in for meds.

This is a very popular and well respected surgery, the vet nurses have been there a long time, and there are alot of them. I'm sure threatening to take business away will have little effect, and they are good vets. I would suck it up,i find most of the nurses ok, the odd one is bit full of themselv's
-
ha, that's my vets.
-
Actually I get peed off when I see dogs on seats, I don't want to sit on a chair a dog has just sat on! chairs are for people, not dogs. my dogs sit at my feet at the vets, but I often see dogs on laps and on chairs, many snarling and growling as I walk past with the stupid owner molly coddling them.

Dog From Pound With Exposure To Parvovirus
juice replied to Mangoe's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
If you bring him home and he does get it, you will be up for thousands in vet bills ,or he will die and and the kids will be even more upset. I would air on caution, see how the pound react to keeping him longer. If you do bring him home and he has it, your ground at home will be infected for years, so you won't be able to bring in a pup again for a long time. -
Thanks, very helpful links, i will go and try one to see how she goes :)

My BT often breaks out in little lumps on her face, due to certain grass's and I get antihistamine's from the vet. However, it happens often, and the ones from the vet are $1 a tablet, so I was looking at a cheaper option. Does anyone have success with a human one ?

I was wondering too, I saw a grey offlead at the dogpark last month ,it didn't have a muzzle on or a green collar, the new owners said they adopted him from a rescue group and he didn't have to wear a muzzle.
-
I hope you are not leaving them shut in crates nearly all the time, they are not mice!
-
Do you mean outside dogs, or include pack members? My current dogs have never bitten another dog,( my Wie did, required vet visit), however I did have a scrap which ended in a vet visit between 2 of mine not long after one arrived. My cattle has nipped the back of someone's leg once. My dally has killed many rabbits and birds and a he and my Wei got a cat once too.
-
I saw a Cane Corso pup at the park last month, nice looking dog, and really friendly. Those pics of the white bully pup are gross, what a genetic nightmare, I bet it can hardly move and its panting poor thing, probably from just being alive.
-
no puppies!!!! I will want one  my daughter is coming too if you need a hand, i'm sure she would help .
-
Come Sare's its great fun they have all sort of games to do with the dogs, mine is useless!!!( might take my cattle x too this time as a ringer and win all the prize's). You taking the big guy Linus? ( love seeing him).

How Often Do You Run Your Dogs Off Leash?
juice replied to silentchild's topic in General Dog Discussion
Everyday, twice a day, for about half an hour in the morning and at least an hour at night. we do some road work too, but its easier with 3 to have them offlead as my BT walks right in front of me and trps me up onlead  -
I would say unlike joe public, we ( dol)choose our breed based on other attributes other than looks , so why is it conveinient (sp) to deny those traits when we want to? I don't own BC, Husky , Beagle, etc etc because i don't like their traits, not their looks. Lets call a spade a spade and stop pussyfooting around, i am not at all offended that my breed of choice has those capabilities, being aware of them is the important part.
