  1. I would like to see the dogs kept and a real dog behaviourist brought in ,and all the details about the dogs, where they were kept etc everything detailed. we won't stop attacks by just siezing dogs and pts, without knowing why it happens.
  2. I hadn't heard of him, but just watched some youtube and i like what he does, he explains it in easy to see ways. I'm not sure growling at my 5 yr old female BT when she tries to mouth will work though, but for pups it did seem to work.
  3. What a smiley face he has now, bet he can't believe his luck all that grass to sniff
  4. I would rehome them, however its easier said than done, i have one foster here i kept that i regret, he is a trouble maker, but after 6 years i can't do it either.( he is loyal and follows me everywhere, is really easy, but should be an only dog, something i didn't realise at the time)
  5. I wouldn't approach them again, they are clearly bullies with pack mentality so avoiding confrontation and keeping your cool is best. Continue what you do, and if they approach again just calmly hand them the document, take more than one with you, then walk away. If they continue with the intimidation report them to council. People like this won't listen, snd slanging match's get you no where, you are in the right. :)
  6. Send a copy to the club who bullied you, and say you will take it futher if they try to intimidate you again. You could put up a warning sign to ther dog owners stating the law, but i'm sure they would remove it.
  7. LOL ,Ricey . Good job this discussion is'nt in general or you would have been hung by now  The topic of dogs no being able to do what they were bred from is very touchy, and breeders jump on anyone who dare's to say their breed can't breathe, move ,give birth naturally etc etc. There are a few breeds i love but would never own as they are a health nightmare. Its good to know that this breed still has people interested in their welfare and maintaining it as it should be. :)
  8. So sorry Jane, another one who got to know the true meaning of love before he left us. I don't know how you continue to take the ones no one else wants, you are a legend. Take care, big hugs to a wonderful person.
  9. I would say if the anti inflams and pain killers have made this much difference already she should have been on them days ago, and i would be spewing at the vet. She clearly was in pain, she didn't suddenly decided to stop with the behaviour. change vets, and let them know why.
  10. I beg to disagree, not making it more defined leave's the breed open to too many variable's, some not great. I don't want to see a dog with a chest so wide it can't move, or a head so big it look like a freak. In my own breed the standard size has gotten so big that the mini is now more the size of the BT's i grew up with, size is not everything
  11. So where are the 80 breeders? Nice sunny day and there's only a handful scattered around here and there. Are the rest cooped up in the little pens?
  12. Lots of tin and wood, not much shade , the dogs are sitting under the sheds on stilts to get out of the sun, there are no beds inside them from one view. The little kennels look aweful, not much protection from the elements in them. I see its all just freshly mowed, they clearly don't have a trimmer, wonder what it normally looks like. The house looks odd, like its not lived in, almost looks like a holiday let.
  13. Those huts in the field look like chook houses, the ramp is high for small breeds and pups to get up, looks like its just for show. More likely they are all stuck in those tiny box's in a row all the time, and i bet they don't get to run through that river and live like they should Scumbags
  14. Yes i live with attracting idiots to my breed too, they come up and ask about her, "oh yeah, they have lock jaw don't they" I have even walked straight past my house once with her when i was being followed by some guys in a car, i was worried they were waiting to see where she lived. The first thing i tell people is she is desexed, and loves other dogs, not a mean bone in her body, they soon lose interest. :)
  15. What a vast improvement, she really does seem interested in her surroundings now, looks like you have turned the corner. So nice to see her on a soft bed. Please keep us updated, its the first thread i check everyday. I didn't know Dante was a strong name, but then Stormy has an Iggy called that and it has kinda coloured my judgement of that name ( biggest baby in the world). I have an Appollo, and he is one sound strong dog.
  16. I would try leaving a light on, some noise and get a heat pad,all worth a try first.
  17. My three in "Karmacollars.com". Handmade to order, guaranteed for life, top quality leather and fittings. I have had mine for age's and they swim in them everyday and they are still perfect. All 3 cost me less then $200 delivered. :)
  18. They are a virus that needs stopping
  19. Another pound rounds type of broker in rescue, great. We don't charge a fee , but a donation would be ok, for what, putting an ad on petrescue without checking any of the info being given by the owner is valid ( and most lie through their teeth so they can offload them). This will make petrescue lose its credability.
  20. I agree with trying the tinned puppy food too, its smelly so she will be attracted to it. I would be getting the vet to give her some more pain relief ,she looks really sad so something is hurting.
  21. This is a bad move by Petrescue. The general public don't know what questions to ask and how to place their dogs in well suited homes, its like offering a broker service, you have no control on whats happening and puts rescue in a bad light if as in this case the owners are useless.
  22. Yes, she stepped up pretty fast when i posted him for help getting him out of NSW. I had had several inquiries for him, all exactly where i didn't want him to go, one even got aggro with me, so wanted him to get out of the area. I think he may have gone to a new home quickly though, a girl who had split from her boyfriend who took the dogs had him, she sent me pics when he was grown up, will see if i can find them.
  23. My dally sheds like crazy and i hate it and he is only in at night! I told my daughter she couldn't have a pug due to the shedding .
  24. Just make sure you do tell any rescue all about his history, they need to match him to a new home, it would be so sad if he ended up bouncing from home to home or ended up being taken to the pound because his new home didn't know all the history and couldn't cope.
