  1. Does she fret when you take the pups away to feed them? If she doesn't care perhaps you should just take them away, she could be really stressed about having to deal with them, and need time to relax and recover alone? just random thoughts.
  2. I understand where you are comming from, dogs who are ball obsessed to the point of defending them shouldn't be in offlead parks imho. If your dog has no wounds it wasn't that much of an attack, alot of noise often sounds scary. Even at offlead parks its not good manners for dogs to charge upto others, try keeping him on a long line and say hello in a calm manner, if he gets too excited take him away ,walk around to calm him down and try again, he needs to know if he is not polite he gets removed . The level at which other dogs will tell him to mind his manners will vary, some will tolerate it, others will give a very big "get lost" which can be scary.
  3. You could try and rehome him yourself first, make sure he is desexed to stop people thinking they can just have him to make money from. You could try asking in the rescue section too, be prepared for people to be a bit blunt though, its a common reason people offload their dogs. I had to rehome one of mine once who was just too much for me, however he was under 12 months, rehoming a dog you have had for 7 yrs will get a harsh response so be warned.
  4. yes i know what etsy is, :D i was just mentioning it as alot of the tags seem to be made in the same design from shop to shop.
  5. I'm sure he went via "Ivy'? I still keep a framed pic of him in the kids playroom for them.
  6. When my daughter was 3 we had a RR x BM, ( saw both parents ,byb before i knew better), and it was a disaster. he was an exuburant nutter who bounded everywhere and knocked her flat on her back all the time, he would then jump ontop of her again to lick her. when my son was a baby we got a dally pup, he was wonderful with him, and i can't fault him, sound strong dog with kids.
  7. I got 3 off Etsy for mine, but really unhappy with the quality. The name engraving is so close to the bottom of the tag its hardly readable, the copper metal goes almost black after a week or so, i have used a light sandpaper to shine it up again, and found on 2 of them other names and numbers on the back faintly, so clearly i have been sold used ones. They are not the same as yours Leela, but similar, they had little silver metal hearts or flowers over the top of the copper tag. Also i lost one in a week as the rings are weak and the tag came off it. I had bought really nice new leather collars so wanted something a bit different, i like the look of those ones Smooch.
  8. Just putting this out there, i have no idea about pups, but is there any chance she will lay on them if she is not wanting to feed them, are they in danger by staying with her?
  9. What a wonderful job you and hubby have done She is safe now, and hopefully the rest of her life will be as it shoud always have been. well done, i don't know how you do it, i would have cried rivers.
  10. I was about to suggest Dogmad to you You would get complete backup if you take a dog from her, and she is very careful where they go, and is always on hand to help out along the way, can't go far wrong really. Otherwise grey would be a good choice too, give her the rescue site's for them aswell, also jill does jrt rescue and may have an older jack.
  11. The lovely "Nudge" , who went to WA . :)
  12. I was at the dog park over the school hols ( i rarely go ), and this lady came in with 3 JRTs , she thought it was highly amusing when all 3 baled up my BT ,surrounding her and taking it in turns to try and nip her, barking their freaking heads off. my poor girl just froze with her head down, little shits soon realised i didn't think it was funny at all, and she soon stopped laughing when i went to kick one of them i hate funniest home video's too when they show dogs growling and think its funny
  13. Thankyou for the link , i don't watch the show as it makes me cranky, but will go and watch it now. I often wonder how you are Jed, i am glad you are still part of DOL still :) I just watched, so sad, and what wonderful friends you have. I love where you live, what a beautiful scenic place to be.
  14. The one i know is left allday while its owners work, but i do see them both walk past my house very early every morning to give him a good offlead run, and they wak him when they get back too. they got him as a 2 yr old from a breder looking to find a pet home for him, he is a lovely dog, and they 'bounce" when they play like deer
  15. Roseetta, the problem with that would be if you don't actually have the dog in care you can't judge what its like and what home it needs, and you certainly couldn't go off what the owners would tell you, most of the time its complete garbage in order to offload them asap
  16. She would be fine Erny, i did try just wipeing her face when we got back with a damp piece of kitchen roll but after a week had made no difference. I did discover last night a tub of mushers ointment i bought for the feet of my old bully who used to get pink feet in the wet and its really easy to spread, so put some on her last night then wiped it off when we got back, its all natural. Is Calendula tea just a brand i can buy at the supermarket?
  17. I used to feed mine Optimum ( sp), and they did fine on it.
  18. Actually a good one to ask is Ricey, he knows what they should look like. Unless you like the over muscled ones with massive heads who can't move .
  19. Seems to be alot of very heavy blobs in the NSW area
  20. Actually a batman mask would be even better for coverage! going to look for one.
  21. Thankyou , will try the Dermeze, and hadn't thought of a zorro mask  , it gets her ontop of her head between her ears, around her eye's and side of face, and under her chin, no where else seems to get effected. I was thinking put it on before we go out, and then wipe her face when we get back to remove anything stuck to it? Just got back from vets with more antihistamines and antibiotics, i am so over it, and skint!
  22. I am looking for an easy to spread barrier cream for the face? My BT's face is still reacting to something on the walk, i suspect those horrible tall grass's, and even though i am avoiding them they are on the verge on the streets etc so its impossible. I am thinking of spreading some sort of barrier cream on her face before we go out, i tried Vasaline, but it doesn't spread well. It needs to be ok near her eye's as that the worst bit.
  23. If it was one of mine i would seek help to make sure it was ok or not.
