I have 3 collars from Karma collars. All custom made, all guaranteed for life. Mine swim daily in the lake. I have had them ages and they still look amazing, top quality, not cheap looking crap. I have seen RR ones at our market and they are cheap hard leather. All 3 were less than $200 delivered, they are really helpful with design, suggesting colours for them and which works best, my dogs are in their gallery, hardest part is picking only 3!

All dallies can have it, if you have a female you may never know as they can pass the stones. I knew nothing about it till my boy got his first blockage, he has had 2 in the last 13 yrs. I used to feed Advance, but now feed chicken mince and VANS. Just be careful, as some brands that say chicken , if you look at the ingredients have red meat by products in too. The other thing to tell the petshop is they need to run, a plod round the block won't cut it.

Everyone seems to be pussyfooting around here, but geez, you are not doing either of them any favours. For a start why would you feed them together, big no,no, you never feed a new dog within sight of the resident dog till you know them better. There may not be that many actual fights atm ,but you can bet they are both very stressed. I think you need to rethink this whole thing, being in constant fear of attack is not helping Friskie, or Perry.

Anyone Here From Marrickville Can Answer What Breed It Is?
juice replied to Katdogs's topic in General Dog Discussion
We have a Tibetan mastiff at the end of our road and you would tell the difference, they are a lot of dog ,but very fluffy with a huge mane. Doesn't anyone work nearby who can look before the suspense kills us all  -
I don't believe dogs " love" anyone, they respect a good leader or they can 'work" an owner who is weak.

The pastor from the church behind me built a house next door to me a couple of years ago. The older pastor in talking to me once told me the younger pastor did not like dogs. The young pastor moved in with his wife and 4 children, they are terrified of dogs. When I walk past with mine onlead the children stop, scream " dog" and run to a parent, who I have heard say "good, well done". I have passed him on the street with the kids and he huddled around them arms shielding them as I walked by! Its very sad as initialy the youngest child would stand and watch me go by and even took a few steps towards me once. The worst was one weekend we were all out on the road watching the kids play and skate, with the dogs all onlead, and they had guests who wanted to leave who were parked outside our house, they kept looking out of the window. Then the hubby ran as fast as he could to his car and drove it up the pastors drive where the family rushed to get in! I don't agree with putting your fears on kids, and in my case he has actually taught them how not to behave! I very much doubt the girl has been attacked, a dog rushing over to say hi is not attacking.

Actually i wouldn't be giving Friskie so much attention, Perry will just get more jealous. I would be ignoring them both and continueing with my normal routine with them seperate for now but able to see each other. Don't let Perrys routine be upset ,keep everything as normal as you can.

A bully without the health issue's that live longer ( one a little more active than the one I have too  , although she is rock solid temp wise, as they should be.) A dally that doesn't shed? He would have to be the easiest dog I have owned, can't fault his temp.

I would be interested too in the makes of lightweight ones people have. The one I borrowed from Dogmad was very good, but heavy, I already have a wagon, but my dally keeps trying to jump into the back and his hips give way and he falls to the ground, so I really need one, he is too impatient and tries to leap in as I open the boot. Plus my lazy bully just stands in the boot waiting for someone to lift her out, and she is like a solid keg!

A 2 yr old of those breeds probably has plenty of attitude  Bad idea to bring a new dog in without introducing on neutral ground. It may be fine, is there a chance you could just do a short let first?

Can Electric Pulse Collars Be Used Humanely
juice replied to snake catcher's topic in General Dog Discussion
I would get one if I could afford it to stop behavoir from one of mine, I reckon I would have it sorted in a week, its something he only does if he thinks I am not there. can you hire them? -
He was a dol legend, and brought many people to love bullies, I can't believe its so long since the big gallop left us.
-
Nope. Or I would be on the phone all the time. I had a chi cross the road and bite my cattle dog, next morning owner was walking on the other side of the road again with it offlead, ran across the road and tried again, I went to kick it, and told the owner to keep his f%@king dog on a lead, he got the message. If it was a re occurring problem, or a dog who was aggro, yes in a heartbeat, and I have done in the past.

After just coming back from the States we have it really wrong here Dogs were everywhere, and I mean just that, I didn't see one dog lungeing at another or hauling its owner up the street. Picnics, playgrounds restaurants, skate park, dogs in huge numbers, relaxed, chilled, and plenty of pits too. when will we realise that the more we hide them under lock and key and stop them going to places the worse it gets.?
-
I wish they would do them in nicer designs, I don't want paw prints or harsh black and grey in a dog bed. I want something that looks nice in my lounge and blends in, and doesn't show up white dally hair  The dog sofa's in the states I saw looked awesome, too big to get in my case though.
-
I've just come back from the state's and saw pits everywhere. :) I like the look of Bora Bora, I am looking at hols for net year and was thinking of going back to Toburua island, but may look at yours now. :)

Advice Needed On Rottweiler And Little Dogs
juice replied to Cartersmum's topic in General Dog Discussion
Carter is awesome, I used to be very wary of Rottie's until I met Reddogs two,and had the pleasure of walking them while he was recovering from surgery, now I love them. I don't like certain dogs, probably based on nothing more than a bad experience, looks or something, i'm sure if we were all honest we would agree, dogmad just says it  Sorry I was MIA, I was in the states, so can confirm, yes, she does love my bully Bon. Any updates on wether you sought help with Carter? -
Glenwood, between Blacktown and Baulkham hills.

chris, if you are near me you are welcome to socialize him with mine, they are non reactive and calm. :)
-
I wouldnt be muzzling him, it will draw attention to him. When you say he plays harder with you than your child are you "roughing him up?",don't, he is a highly reactive and excitable breed, don't encourage it. When he meets other dogs bear in mind bull breeds often get in other dogs faces and want to wrestle, they get over stimulated sometimes, if he appears to be getting too rough, put him back on lead, walk around calm him down and let him say hello again, he needs to learn respect for other dogs, and you don't want him to ever show his power.

Any pit looking dog without papers is at risk, what is he registered as? I would only buy an Amstaff these days that came with papers to prove thats what he is. Just make sure you don't mention to anyone your fears about what he maybe, make sure he is well behaved and keep control of him around other people and dogs, socialize him well. You don't want anyone to draw unwanted attention to him. At least he isn't red, so not too obvious.

Why Is Jackson Still Waiting?
juice replied to ruthless's topic in Dog Rescue (General Rescue Discussion)
It woukd put me off, you can always weedle out the non starters on the phone. Too much info at the start is not always a good thing. -
Don't leave them unattended, ever, and get them out asap, the possibilty is too great that this will end badly.

Why Is Jackson Still Waiting?
juice replied to ruthless's topic in Dog Rescue (General Rescue Discussion)
I would put his main pic up as a black and white one, i don't like the 2 first ones with him just looking up. The comments on his page need to be simplified, don't mention resource, most pople have no idea what it means, re write it it joe blogg language, post pics of him with ears flapping, none of him wrestling, it puts people off. Also the strong leadership comment is off putting as is the correction collar, all these can be discussed later, you need people through the door first, atm he is sounding too hard, which to us in the know he isn't.
