Do you have an email address for the ranger? I would be asking for the reasons in writing, it may scare her into doing something because she will think you are getting advice. If not ring council and ask for the name of the head of that dept. and email them with pics.
-
HW,are there any kennels near you? I know of one near me that rents out the big paddock for people wanting to walk their dogs at certain times in the day , maybe worth a try.
-
I would be writing to my local paper with the pics of the injuries. I think the ranger is just being lazy. It seems they have powers but choose when to use them, often in the wrong place.
-
what cav said my BT is fed in the garage, she has to wait by doing as I ask, then I give the release.

I would be going on Melz advice. My neighbours dog was out everyday, and would sit on my doorstep and rush anyone who walked past and try and bite them. One day it attacked and nearly killed a neighbours cat which was on its front lawn playing with its owners young children. The vet bill was over $3000, she refused to pay. I know the dog was immediately declared a nuisance and she got a fine. It continued to get out, scaled the fence everyday, I and many neighbours rang council, they never showed ( I know as it sat allday on my porch).

So sorry, we all seem to be surrounded by f%cking morons . I agree with taking pics of the dogs and you, as you were hurt can you report it to the police aswell? I just feel so angry for you, I wish I was closer too, I would happily escort your dogs on walks with a bloody big stick!!!

A Good Breed For Someone With Anxiety?

A big black grey? Do they bark though? none of my fosters ever did  A lot of people are wary because they wear muzzles, pretty easy dogs to own. -
A Good Breed For Someone With Anxiety?
juice replied to kiwifeathers's topic in General Dog Discussion
I think any big black dog would fit . It never ceases to amaze me how people recommend their breed time and time again without reading the OP, I rarely recommend mine, I mean really, a Cav, Aussie and BC look like they will put people off, I don't think so . My dally is a good guard ,but I didn't say dally because people love them and run upto pat them everytime,( then back off when they see the BT lolling up behind) A single female wants a dog to feel safe with lets remember before we go spouting off about how wonderful our dogs are. -

I don't think a cav would look that scary  -

Rotty. Black lab. Bull terrier , ( people are very scared of them, but you need a good breeder, they vary in temp and activity levels.) Cattle dog? I have 2 of the above, and as a single female are very happy I do, ,top of the list is my next breed too. Just wanted to add I have a neighbour with a Belgian, and yes people are very wary of her, but she has been a handful for her to handle ,and only now with lots of professional help has she started to control her.She has boundless energy. -
Insert "rolls eye's " emoticon. Another, only tell me what I want to here or will get nasty. :D

Could have been something came to visit in the night and he went to go for it and she reprimanded him , as she seems so bossy? If they are outside you have no idea what set them off. surprised you have whippys outside at night.
-
I have outside dogs, but they are not ornaments, I work from home, and they get walked twice a day, and have access to the garage. One is asleep a few feet from me outside on a bed, another crashed on the couch in the garage, third one sunbaking as usual. A lot of people put their dogs outside when they go to work. Mine have a couch, carpet, beds, and a ceiling fan in the garage, access to the garden, and a screen door onto the front of the house to scare anyone who walks up the drive  I would suggest 2 dogs? Perhaps a little older so you know what you are getting. Dogs vary even within the same breed, so don't just look at breed but each dog on its own merit. I was about to suggest a couple of greys, they don't smell doggy, would be happy with a short walk and sleep a lot, you would need to rug them up though.

There is one at the end of my street, stunning black boy, one hell of a lot of dog though. His owner was chatting to me last week about how he has to keep him onlead now as he charges upto people to say hi and freaks them out! He asked how I got mine to be so well behaved, he said "is it training to get them to come back"
-
I agree, poor little dog in a crap looking kennel with no chance to escape, who the hell leave's a chi x on a chain outside at night.

I really enjoyed watching, so nice to see such good specimans. That mini bully was a real handful, but nice dog, shame he didn't show well. I had forgotten about the Norwich and the Norfolk. I'm not surprised the fox got it, not my kinda dog but it did stand out, I thought the Irish would have got higher.

Thanks for the link, just got to get back to a client , so will watch it all later, but watched all the terriers come in, what a hairy bunch except my breed which I fear stand no chance , the mini looks a right terror
-
And again the dogs are put down without anyone getting a chance to see them and find out why, we will never learn if we don't understand what happened. I don't mean they should live, but should be assessed so we can learn, then pts.

I always said to the owner of the 2 I knew, they must be broken as they had great recall
-
I just wanted to say, it does seem like dogs onlead do attract more aggro responses from offlead dogs, so I wouldn't take him. There is no reason just because he is a husky he cant have recall, I know 2 who are fine offlead,i think its just a lot harder  Perhaps you could get a bike to exercise him with? Dog parks need to be entered with a great deal of caution, and you need to be prepared to step in fast if need be, all a lot of stress really. I go to one where my son skates sometimes, only if its empty or it has oodles inside, who are normally nervous nellies and don't come out from under the tables. It has 4 exit points and views all around, so I watch and if anything comes in I don't like the look of I get out.

A Link To " 8 Reasons Why Not To Shave Your Dogs Coat"
juice replied to Mystiqview's topic in General Dog Discussion
There is a guY near me who rides his bike with his clipped red BC , apart from the fact he rides flat out, which I thought was too fast anyway, the dog still pants clipped. Interestingly the guy is American and when I am over there I see most long haired dogs clipped off, its aweful. -
Done, I am over the other side of the road, so don't come under the Hills. I would be there tonight in a flash ,and speak, but have a gig in town, darn. Good luck guys! she looks like a dougue x.
