  1. Hound of some sort, can't see any staffy in there. :)
  2. Can't see much staffy there, something reminds me more of a hound? very cute though :)
  3. The vet is the Sydney Animal hospital , its the location that makes a difference as to which pound they go to, Glenwood side of Old Windsor road means they go to Blacktown pound. I admit i say i have found them on the other side of the road when i take them to the vets, as i know they will then go to hp, much nicer pound, and if not reclaimed more chance of making it out alive. They are not my vet, used them once, never again, i go to Blair, from quakers hill vets , near schofields. :)
  4. I only just saw this as i live in Glenwood, i do know someone with an aussie, but its a girl and very well behaved  If i ever find a lost dog i take it to the vets on the other side of Old Windsor road, which comes under Baulkham hills council, which means the dog gets to to to HP , instead of BP, not somewhere i would wish any dog to go.
  5. Jasper, pound mutt, 16, cancer.( got him as pup). Ben, pound mutt, 14 ,pts due to illness, ( got as pup). Razzle, BT, 8, dementia, pts due to other ailments. Roadie, BT, 3 ,pts due to chronic skin problems ( i now now better and could have helped her ). Mason, BT, 10, lymphoma, had him 6 months from pound, my sons shadow missed dearly. Meg, whippet, petshop, 12 months, pts due to chronic health issues. Girl dog, kelpie x corgi, pound, approx 14, cancer, had glorious 6 months with her.
  6. Feeding can do your head in  I spent ages checking the ingredients, then looking up each one to see what it was. My dogs did well on the supermarket Optinum, with raw necks and wings, but as the price per bag crept up a looked into premium foods. They did well on Proplan, and Advance too, still with raw bits. You feed less on good stuff, and poo is firmer and there's less
  7. I used to buy my Advocate at online petshops, but then found ebay power sellers even cheaper, i have one i always use now, and it gets here within 2 days. I bought 3 great dog waterproof coats from a power seller there too, great service and quality.
  8. Cav? But would depend on wether it was an inside dog. You could also get a mature dog from a breeder, would be past all the digging chewing stage, and you could match up the temp ,lifestyle with a good breeder?
  9. Yes, when i orderd my backpack i thought it was too small ,Steve turned up on my door, he was passing by, with a bigger one, and then showed me the original one in fact did fit, it was the stupid owner who couldn't put it on right
  10. I think this thread was bumped to get someone's business pushed ;) i started it last year. I ended up going the kennel option, having a bull breed i was concerned about her getting out or being walked by someone who didn't appreciate how careful you have to be theses days. They were fine for 5 weeks, all came back fat and happy :D
  11. I have no sympathy either for the trainer, the dog was surplus to requirements. Greys are one of the easiest dogs i have fostered to adapt to pet life, they are wonderful, i have not had one i couldn't have kept. I was in the pound one morning when a triner walked in with 4 siblings, he called them ABC and D when asked their names
  12. Outside all the time anyway ( except my old dally who comes in at night). They have free run of the garden and garage, which has a big ceiling fan just for them, and couch, and my hair salon runs off it, so if its really hot i leave the door open and they lay there with the air on. :)
  13. Ozzie , Ozzie Osbourne. Razzle, guitarist in metal band. Bonner, Bonnerville motorbike. Mutley, Dick dastardly cartoon. Roadie, no idea, just liked it
  14. Appollo has advance chicken and rice kibble, with 3 necks at dinnertime, and a wing for brekky ( plus kids toast crusts  ). He had a stone blockage a few years ago, so i am very careful not to feed too much raw, or any red meat.
  15. I have had guys following me in a car, i walked straight past my house, poor dogs were exausted by the time we made it home. I am paranoid someone will take my girl, if anyone asks about her i say she is desexed and loves all dogs.
  16. The conclusion that your dog was out of control stems from the fact you didn't call it back when you saw the other dog getting agitated, either you chose not to, or had no recall........not in control Exactly the same thing happened to someone i know, pie offlead, akita onlead, held by young boy who couldn't hold it, akita ripped apart pie. Pie owner couldn't see why his dog was to blame, even though he was an entire boy who had dominant body language, i knew this dog well. Pie died later . Its upto us to protect our dogs.
  17. If you are near glenwood, try looking in Parklea markets, they sell pups in about 3 places there. I did go yesterday and heard pups crying from the aisle behind me, but i avoid going to look if i can. wish i had looked now, if you think its worth me looking i can go, but they could have been sold already.
  18. Denise is very strict on where her dogs go, so she will want a housecheck done first before you get to meet any dogs. All her dogs have had every vet treatment they need too, dentals, ears, you name it they get given an overhaul the minute they arrive, most get shaved down too as they are manky,so you know the dog has had everything done and temp tested too in foster care.
  19. Sorry to say it was my first thought too, why pups so little were outside alone, and secondly you say you left really early in the morning and didn't check them when you got back either? Anything could have happened to them outside in that time, and surley pups that young need feeding aswell?
  20. Look on the 'Paws" website, Denise rescue's mainly little house dogs, highly recommended, and right in your mums area.
  21. When i came here 15 years ago i had one dog pts, and rehomed one with my best friend, both had medical conditions, both elderly, i was not going to decline a chance of a new life for myself and child. SHOOT AWAY!!!! The op has made the call, now lets not judge, but help, less of this " holier than thou" crap.
  22. Carlo, you got her out of there, that was the best thing, so you should be proud of that The vet didn't do the right thing, and although he waived the consult fee, let me tell you they make a HUGE markup on meds, double and triple what they pay for them, so he was still making good money from you, so don't think he was being that kind
  23. Pax on here is supposed to be good, i have used Acacia lodge at Londonderry, really good. I have big dogs, and wanted them outside as much as poss, she caters for all their needs, they stayed 5 weeks, and were in great condition when i picked them up. :) I do also look after people's dogs while they are away, if you are near me and want him walking, feeding etc
