If breeding is done correctly, there is usually next to no profit made off it, and it's certainly not a job, simply a hobby. You can get uni degrees for dog behaviour/animal behavious or something along the lines of it...I think. So behaviorist/trainer is an option. In todays society there are so many more opportunities too - doggy daycare, animal chiropracter, animal massage, animal accupuncture, animal healing through herbs and natural remedies...and that's just a few. For a high paying job there are also lawyers who specialise in animal cases. Hope I could help :)

Don't feel bad, yourself and your dogs must come first. I would have done the same thing. And good on you for reporting it, people need to do all they can to keep their dogs contained before accidents happen. If a dog gets hit by a car, I imagine it would be highly stressful for all involved - owner, dog, driver. And I agree with what has been said, perhaps an email or 2 would get the councils attention ;)

Does it actually have its hackles up or anything? My aussie boy was never taught by other dogs how to play properly, so really tackles little dogs and is a very vocal dog. You should see him play with the schip. Everyone thinks he's attacking it, but he's not, it's just how he plays. Schipperke doesn't know any different, so plays along with the aussie. Rusty just bowls the schip over, barking then mouthing him, and making lots of weird noises that come from barking with his mouth closed. Just some food for thought. I do however, put him on a leash whenever I see a small dog off leash also, until we get to it, if it's a terrier or a sturdier small breed owners say they're fine with it. Just because he is playing though, it is still unnacceptable to just let him do so, a) it's unfair for the dog ivolved, b) the owner may be uncomfortable with it

I agree with all the checking over...I personally don't like frontline plus. After using it for about a year, ticks and fleas started to reappear. Working in a petstore, a LOT of customers have the same complaint. So be wary of that. Since using Advantix for 5 years or more, I have never seen a tick or flea on my dogs...leeches, that's another story :laugh: First sign of paralysis (sp?) I guess would be the drowsiness. My cat, when she was a kitten got a paralysis tick and was on the verge of dying. I however, was only 3, and have been told that on the way to the vet I was happily singing about my cat dying, then getting a dalmation, then the dalmation dies, so we get another one :laugh: Sure that wouldn't have helped mum who was balling her eyes out...but, I am happy to say, the cat is still alive, so there was no need to get a dalmation :laugh:

the lhasa's coat just looked amazing! And the newfie, gosh, so beautiful, that gait, just amazing! The lineup had some very beautiful dogs, I'm sure it would've been a hard choice!

Wow, I can't even begin to imagine what I would've done in this situation. Of course any person has every right to shoot any animal/s harming their own pets/livestock. I just can't imagine, if someone had left my gate open or something, and my baby boy was shot. I really do feel for the owner of the dogs...I would be devastated. RIP doggies and chookies

Aussie Koolie Newfoundland Chow chow ACD

The only dog I've lost in Lassie. She was a heinz breed, had american staffy, boxer, ACD, and lots more in there. She was PTS at only 4 as she had aggression problems. The oldest girl I have is Cherry, she is now 11, but has had a few mast cells removed, so that is always a worry. She is a staffy cross.

I feel like I'm in the same dilemma! I want sooo many breeds, but I've managed to narrow it down by a LOT :laugh: I have a schipperke, and an Aussie shepherd. I want to breed schipperkes. I WANT AN ACD!! And I WILL get one when my circumstances will EVENTUALLY be the right ones for one. I want a st bernard..or a leonberger. A chihuahua, or a pomeranian...or a chinese crested. Also add to my list importing an owning a Japanese akita inu. Oh, can't forget a Noonbarra kelpie!! Hmm, perhaps another aussie...yes, a pretty red merle. A greyhound, whippet, and perhaps an american staffy. I need short coated cuddlies! I also fancy a working line german shepherd. So, there is my narrowed down list. I will either need to live a very long time, or even better, win the lotto. Give us some hope please! :D

My dogs just sleep with the TV is on and there's no attention on them. However when Rusty was a puppy he loved Old Tom! My 13 year old self would watch it in the morning (I still watch cartoons now too!), and as soon as the theme song came on, he'd come running and sit himself in front of the television and watch the whole episode, head tilting side to side...was so cute :laugh:

At the begining, I don't see any difference in the dogs structurally, whatsoever...oh dear, people aren't keeping the coats back these days, they're being groomed daily! And that poor cocker spaniel can't hunt, oh dear, because everyone who owns them uses them to hunt! However moving onto the bull terrier, I think the original looks just beautiful! And I'm not going to lie, I love the old working style GSD's with straight backs. I prefer a lot of the older style breeds on here. Happy to see a schipperke :D Glad they haven't been moderated so much, still look like the 'real thing'.

:thumbsup: I actually get along really well with children, it's weird. I'm far too young to have children of my own but I do babysit occasionally and the kids always want me to come over again. From the ages 2-10, they make me feel so loved :p Then when they reach grade 8, I find them annoying - that bratty teenage attitude is the one the annoys me most. Oh, and the kids of slack parents.

Hahaha :laugh: That dog has pretty good balance! I can put a lot of things on my dogs' heads', however if I were to put a tower of pancakes or a massive burger, I'm pretty sure they'd come toppling down :laugh: Very well behaved dog by the look of it!

I am so over cops being the bad ones in todays society. I appreciate them for all they are worth, they are keeping us all safe after all :)
