Ahh yes, I have just discovered that Kyojin also hates going outside to toilet in the rain, after finding a nice big poo at the front door, and catching him mid pee under the dining table. (He refused to do anything each time OH and I had taken him out earlier)

Yea, I think I managed to get a vote in for each breed. I know I managed to even get a Vallhund in. It is sooo hard though! I started off by listing every person that submitted an entry, thinking I'd make sure that every person got a vote. Then realised we had like twice as many people as I could vote for. I will admit that I crossed off people I had never seen on the forum before since they just seemed to appear as soon as the competition came about

I did up an excel spreadsheet to help me vote! It was very confusing otherwise :D

I do feel a bit sorry for Dju. She's never had a dog AT ALL before, so I think some people forget what it's like to really have no idea what you're doing. I maaaay have voted for one of my own photos I figure we can't compete with hundreds of fluffy lappies, so Kyojin deserved at least one vote I voted for one of Kuma's too. I only did one vote per dog, and tried to spread it around a lot so that everyone gets a chance

Surprisingly nothing, having always had two dogs at a time since I was born. Probably got knocked over once or twice as a kid, but that's about it. Although I did get a big smack in the head from Kyojin when we first brought him home. I have since learned that he is an absolute bobble head and to always hold my head back when cuddling him.

I voted 'Other'. At the moment we are just using the stuff that our hydrobath has, which we love. I have no idea what it is though! At home he's only been shampooed with Excelpet as that's what we use on the cats and we have no idea which shampoo we want to buy for Kyojin for washes in between going to the hydrobath.

If my boy was humping another dog, I'd pull him off. If another dog humped mine and their owner did nothing, I'd pull him off too. You don't have to be aggressive about it, but I see no issue with simply removing the other dog.

Gosh, I must try this with Kyojin. The latest he will sleep in til is 6am. Though I do feel pretty good about having accomplished so much already today by getting up so early.

Have an awesome time today guys!!! We're just a wee bit jealous over here :D Just got back from taking Kyojin for his morning walk. I'm such a proud mamma when people stop to comment on him. We even had a super old lady in her walker stop us from across the other side of the road to come and chat to us about him! :D Going to take him for a bath after breakfast. He's starting to get a bit on the nose from lying in the dirt under the house.

I really, really want to, because what kind of Akita owner am I if I haven't watched the legendary film?! But I know it's going to make me miserable. I already cry over EVERYTHING .

Thanks Niques. I'll definitely get Kyojin a harness for when he's bigger. I don't think I'll ever walk him without OH with me though. He's going to weigh the same as me, if not just a little bit more, so I know who's going to win if he pulls too suddenly! I can't wait til he's fully grown though so I can buy him a stunning leather leash and collar set. I have my eyes on several of the Hamish McBeth ones. Does anyone know if they're good quality?? The K9 Pro range of leashes and collars look wonderful, but I want something that's going to be durable but also look good. Is that too much to ask???

I've finally got hold of a copy of the movie, but I don't know if I can watch it just yet! Looking down at my boy snoring as loud as a steam train next to me (which he has bizarrely only started doing since last night) I think I would be in tears in the first few minutes!!

Kyojin loves face washing too!!!! We ripped up the dodgy pavers in our backyard maybe 6 months or so ago? I think at this rate, it'll still be like that by the time we sell We desperately need curtains/blinds too. Our entrance/sun room is all glass (was a verandah that the previous owners decided to close up) so at the moment it's being covered by OH's mums old TARTAN curtains! ;) They're so hideous

Haha, today is my day off Kyojin's not entirely impressed about being outside at the moment while I'm in here. But it's kind of impossible to clean up all the dirt/hair from these animals if they're still running around in here at the same time! I almost completely forgot that we have puppy school tonight, whoops!

I considered buying us a pool like that too. I'm not entirely certain OH would go for the idea though!

This is our definition of LLW (or at least, we are happy enough with this. Not sure if we're doing it exactly right or not, but we've only just started) OH and Kyojin LLW (Ignore OH's ramblings at the end) And this is me walking him "LL" for the first time Clicky Note: I can't drop the leash completely. I do at the very end, and you can see that the leash sits right in front of my knee, which pisses me off, so I lift it up a bit just to get it out of the way.
