  1. What valiant years, so sorry for your loss HW.
  2. oh dear dog what a beautiful face... paws crossed for her. I hadn't heard of them either and had to look up City of Stonnington.
  3. I've only just seen this thread - so very sorry to hear of your loss and the ordeal leading up to it. R.I.P little angel, you were dearly loved
  4. Hi Nina! Yes pls - do let me know when the next transport run is planned! do you still have my details (if that's easier for you)? Will PM them to you if not.
  5. Thanks! :) I'm sure when she gets a moment she'll stick her head in here but if she doesn't I will shoot her a PM or give her a call
  6. Thanks PL! Prepaid post satchels can go to: Sew Make Create PO Box 780 Broadway 2007 no need to say it's for the doggy jumpers, we'll know, however it won't hurt. You can always address them to Miss Pepper, the shop dog, it will always make the shop owners smile :) With regards to donations of tracksuits, we are after tracksuit pants only at this stage. Tops etc are a waste of your postage and energy, as we have an abundance of those right now which require sewing to complete and we don't have enough sewers. Pants are easy because they don't require any sewing! If you are in Sydney, you can drop them off in person to the shop, which is located at 8 Shepherd Street, Chippendale. So - who wants these coats? Where can we send them to?
  7. Nothing helpful but just want to wish you luck. Such a tough run you've had and this too. I hope you catch a break soon. Sending positive thoughts to you and your crew
  8. Just caught up with my friend whose shop hosts the workshops. Looks like we'll do one for XXL's (dane size coats) and another one where we can do smalls and mediums (this will be the first one mid June). Nina, I will go meet Marshall late June with that lot. Turns out in our sorting through donations we have some jumpers ready to go! In the boot of my car I have about 8 or 10 jumpers for medium dogs - great for pounds. For carers of x-smalls (chis and poms?) we had someone donate hand crocheted jumpers from an old market stall which didn't sell, photo below. And also one outer jacket for a small (maltese?). We think rather than putting a call out for extra tracksuit donations (we have way more than we have time!), it would be super handy to have some donations of prepaid satchels sowe can post them out directly where they are needed. I will see how many we can fit into various sizes. I will find the shop's PO box address they can be sent to.
  9. Powerlegs - I've only just popped into rescue as I haven't been in here in awhile. Last year we did the doggie jumper workshops and sent them through Nina's transport. We have had a lady donate about 8 HUGE boxes of old tracksuits, and the little shop has been getting trickling donations, so we're going to do the workshops again. I can see from this thread what sizes are needed most - medium and large. We make these from tracksuit tops by tapering and sewing (smalls are easy, we get 2 from each jumper or leg). We get loads of interest and volunteers to help make them which has been great. We don't need any more donations of tracksuits (our drive has been very successful!), but linking up with transport or donations of prepaid satchels will probably be accepted. Would you mind if I PM or call to see where we can best help?
  10. The other thing I do is to google each stayz property I am i terested in. Occassionally they pop up listed on other list sites and say pet friendly when it doesn't mention on stayz. Very research heavy though!
  11. I like the gift or meal idea - your friend wants to do this for you asafriend, maybe shout her dinner when you dine together next time, or perhaps some movie tickets or similar?
  12. I'm confused by the reasoning behind any thinking that confectionary has anything to do with dog food!? Primary produce may be confectionary, but multinationals run different divisions which in practice operate independently of each other and come under scrutiny of applicable regional regulators.
  13. HW I've only just seen this thread today, so so sorry to hear of what you're going through! Sending truckloads of healing and happy vibes to you and your two. Pls take care of yourself too, I hope your hand, foot and ribs are feeling a little better - perhaps a little rescue remedy to share around, a drop for each of you...
  14. I wouldnt trust it to keep them from stitches. The soft e-collars are fine though
  15. I've only just seen this Maeby, so so sorry for your loss.
  16. Yes, just in time to find out she has oomph to woof at the thunder and lightning! That novelty didn't last long but it was so good to see her oomph and so great having her home!!
  17. It's been an emotionally tumultuous week coming close to nearly losing Panto, but I am happy to report she is being discharged from hospital and has just been brought home today! We don't know exactly what the road ahead is like nor how limited but choosing to stay positive and taking it week to week, which sure beats day to day, and hoping for longevity! She has certainly surprised us turning the corner which is what brings us hope. Thank you each and every person who offered support and thoughts on and off DOL. It really did get me through and I've no doubt the positive energy has helped her on the road to recovery.
  18. Hi guys, Firstly she is a little better and smiled for me today, she has been eating and took some dentastix from me, the nurses were genuinely happy to see her eat. Her time is limited I think but she keeps surprising me. Just a matter of how limited I guess, we are still trying to understand and am staying in close touch w SASH. A few days ago I prepared myself to say goodbye, but I trusted the vets and the sensible people around me and although it was up and down, the vets were right (of course I wanted them to be!) and she has kept on surprising me, even tonight I have a little more hope, more than this morning and this morning more than the night before. As for human Panto, it's up and down, the anxiety is there when I am alone with my thoughts, I know I'm not alone even though it feels so lonely without her. The house empty of paws is quite haunting but I am staying strong and keeping myself distracted as much as possible. The support and positive vibes from DOLers has been invaluable, I can't thank you guys enough.
  19. Oh Kirislin i have only just seen this thread and followed kibah's final journey, I am hardly in general. Tears hugs and leans from us The photos are so beautiful, of a dear beautiful girl
  20. Naww guys this is just so heartwarming. We are so humbled by all your kind thoughts. This morning was no change but her fever had broken overnight, though she was back to no apetite and didnt want to eat. Tonight though, a little more hope, I took her some sausages which she ate with exhausted enthusiasm. I will see her again tomorrow morning and read her all these wonderful wishes. DOL truly has been a special gift especially at this time. Thankyou so much everyone
