DL Love, it must have been an aweful situation for you to be living right next door to this tradgic puppy ,you & OH being such devoted dog lovers. Knowing the whole sickening story,patting the poor littley through the fence one minute. Good on you for taking the time, not that you have very much of that, to track down this poor little fella. Why do people do this ! ! They make me soooo dam mad. Get the cute puppy, pup gets all the attention / effection for a while, till the novelty wears off, puppy starts to relax & get up to a bit of mischief cause nobody is interacting with him anymore. Pup goes through the gorky growing stages. Somehow not so cute anymore & to top it off has just become so much more naughty in an act of desperation for even a glimse of love. Don't know what we are going to do with this darn dog, he is just so annoying & doesn't do a thing he is told. Best get rid of him, stupid dog. It just breaks my heart & you hear it all the time. Through NO fault of the poor pup, he ends up on death row or even worse, untrained & no social skills & very little to zero hope of a second chance at life. Hope there is a happy ending to this story for this little fellow. We need more education about the responsibilities of dog ownership. They are a living feeling thing & you are to take care of them for their duration, however long that may be. Ownership is NOT a decision to be taken lightly.

I use Sentinal on my girl. Im going to check the packet cause I was under the impression it covered tapeworm as well.

Totally agree with you minimiss. I am only a small built person but I would defend my 2 with every breath in me & I am the most passive person usually but it is just happening far too often all these stray dogs causing havic.

Hi Piper, yes I think a smaller camera would suit me better as I have very small hands anyway. Interesting post, it is just so complicated to find a camera to, suit your needs, budget e.t.c there are so many choices & not being up on all what all the bells & whistles actually are, makes it even harder. Just want to get it right first time if I can. Maybe this time of year might be lucky enough to pick up one that suits me on special too.

Thats terrible !! Your poor puppy. Not the best way to start off into the big world. It is suppose to be an adventureous time for him. I hope he hasnt suffered mentally from these aweful interactions. Its my worst fear, stray dogs, they are just so bloody unpredictable & usually very defensive. Maybe you could take your littley for a short drive, might be able to find a somewhere more quiet. Just a thought. Hope he is OK.

Oh, what lovely people. All the trouble they have gone to too. Wonderful. So there still are some very kind folks around. Made my heart feel all warm & put a smile on my face. Merry Christmas to them. That is the true meaning of it. The dogs will have some yummy treats now, they are going to love it.

I am very much the beginner too, so reason I was asking you about your camera. Im so lucky OH wants to buy me my first DSLR camera for Chrissy. Im wrapped, now its just which one. They all look & do amazing things. So Im madly researching atm. You took 300 pics, unreal. Look how good they turned out. Just Beautiful.

Woofnhoof, can I ask what type of camera you are using to get such lovely clear graphic's ? You must be a professional photographer, they are awesome shots but you did have beautiful animals to focus on.

I have doing a bit of research this morning & although I like the Sony Nex 5, I think from the reviews Ive been reading it is not very user friendlly for a first timer. Was going to go for a look at the local camera shop, as kindly suggested but my one of my furry kids is unwell today so I will keep an eye on him this arvo,just to be on the safe side. Maybe tomorrow. Please keep posting any other info you think I may not know, which will be lots. LoL.

Thanks T for your help. There are so many to choose from & it is all very complicated. I have only ever had a very run of the mill dig. camera, so I am all ears for some tips, ideas or suggestions to make the right decision. Im going to brouse the Canon website now, & thanks again for your input.

Hi everyone, My very sweet OH wants to buy me a DSLR camera for Chrissy, how spoilt am I. Im wrapped . Anyway would love some help with which one would be best for a beginner like myself. I mainly would love to take some good photots of my dogs. Ive been looking at the new Sony ones & they look really good. Any advice with which one to choose & where to buy would be great. Hi Huckhouse, I too am very afraid of some off lead dogs that show aggression. I do have a fear of BTs but am working on overcoming my fear as it is my problem. I too love all dogs. I believe that their are good & bad temps in all breeds. I do not think aggression has any breed bias.

I am surprised to read greys arent allowed off lead cause there are several at our local that are never leashed or muzzeled. Ours is a council owned beach too. They are lovely dogs & seem to be very placid. I can relate to the post about being scared of Bullies. I am too. I do try & avoid them as I have had one go after Sonny from behind, did not even see him approach.

No, I didnt hit him but I pushed him as hard as I could. I was so bloody angry. I couldnt care less what he did or tried to do to me but NOONE hits my dog. I saw red. I am a very lay back person as a rule. Bxxtaxd. I still see him sometimes & he tries to speak to me. I just glare at him after putting both my babies on leads & going in the opp. direction.

One of Sonny BF's as a youngster was a Mal called Jake, beautiful dog, weighs in at more than me & funnily enough now my girl Stella adores him & gives him kissed any time she can So I certainly wouldn't generalize on size or breed regarding temp. for that matter.

I am not sure of the rules. I am pretty sure they differ from state to state just to really confuse the important issue. I just feel so damm sorry for these poor littley's & any others like them. They sooo need their mum.

I find this post amazing Blackdog !!! Not doubting your word for a moment but it has never crossed my mind that someone would actually KEEP someone else's dog. Not only that,they think it is OK to do so. I just shake my head, really. On the other side of this I think it would make my day if I found someones 'baby' & was able to bring them back home to mum for them. Takes all kinds I guess.
