  1. So very sorry Everything Shiny You went above & beyond to help these kittens. RIP Sky....off to play with your brother baby girl.
  2. Oh thanks Cassie. Beautiful Sumo is giving your new hydro bath a work out by the looks LOL. Before & after shots are exactly why....giggle. Congrats on earning your first points Cassie with many more to come I'm sure. Moose & Sumo make lovely BBF 's . I have 2 Borders that are also the very best of friends. It is lovely to see :)
  3. Frodos mum, love your photo's. Huge fan. You always have wonderful shots :) Hankdog Jake is such a gorgeous elf. Beautiful pics :) Love this thread ♡
  4. I am having a Sumo withdrawal. Any spare pic's Cassie pleeeeessssseeee ;)
  5. Yes I too agree with all the others pme. I would just keep her away from him. My girl doesn't like one of Mr BCC's work mates. She wont have a bar of him & runs around the back to hide from him. I just put her away now. He is the only person she dislikes. So I think we cant expect them to like everybody.Kenz sounds frightened of this fella for her own reasons. If I were him I wouldn't push the point with Kenzie. I think that is very unfair & if Kenz was mine I would crate her or something. Not worth her getting upset, poor girl. You are very fortunate to have such helpful, supportive parents pme. Kenzie is in great hands then when your very capable ones are busy :)
  6. I agree with Hankdog 100% Chuck & Steve. As difficult a decision as it is. I have a very reactive girl & I too have given the PTS option some serious thought on more than one accassion & I don't have children. I know I couldn't manage her & small children as well. Not a chance. Reactive dogs are a tonne of work. They also need a tonne of supervision.I think you are being very responsible. I'm sure the dog wouldn't be having a peaceful life either. They don't want to be fighting & on guard all the time. That is no quality of life for him. Nor for your other dog either. IMHO I would be doing this ASAP before another incident happens as your first dog may not be so lucky next time Take care. Sorry you are in this sad situation. And thank you for at least trying with boy. Its more than what many would do.
  7. Thats very kind of you jessabel :) I was worried for Bunno as it would be so worrying after already losing one beloved dog to the retched things & not really sure how to do a tick search. Thanks for taking the time for a fellow dog loving owner.
  8. Yes !!! Gotta love that raineth. Stella does this now as well & I am wrapped. She has improved so much using this method. She turns around so quickly now when she see's lets say the postie I'm left scrambling to get the treat out LOL. But thats the only reaction I am getting now. No chasing, barking ,growling or snapping. Same with 99% of other dogs. The only thing that brought us undone yesterday was a cat hiding behind a car, hissing it's head off. I didn't see it until we were right in front of him. Stel went off her nut but what I find now is that she settles a lot faster now & we can keep walking relitively quickly. Where as before she would of had a complete meltdown & not been able to continue. We would of had to just go home.
  9. This would be a very effective way of finding ticks imho if you don't feel confident with the usual method :)
  10. Way to go Jake !!! You must be so happy hankdog & very proud. It feels wonderful when we have a successful day. You have put in the hard yards with him. Your dedication is paying off. Enjoy. I read somewhere he has a sore leg ??? Hope he is ok :)
  11. Hakedog,Jake does the perfect bean impression. So cute :) My boy loves his bean bag as well while my girl wont go near one. I think it's the sound of the beans that frightens her. She is so precious.
  12. Thanks for your reply Nekhbet. Makes perfect sense what you are saying. My boy is funny he loves tug games & we play for a while then if I let go he will thrash a bit then without letting go of the toy , come straight back to me & place the toy in my hand or at least try too. So I think he gets that the game just won't happen without me :)
  13. The only time my dogs have had a smell about them was when my boy became grain intolerant. He started having this really funny, unpleasant odour about him. Put him on a grain free diet & within 24 hours smell disappeared. So I would be looking at diet as well. I dry my dogs off with a dog dryer if the weather is overcast/cold & they are unable to dry naturally within a reasonable time frame. I usually have the dryer on cool setting though so as not to damage their coat.
  14. I don't look at what I'm doing with a tick search either. Just feel my way. I usually reapply Advantx on the 13 th day. I don't wait until the actual 14th day to reapply. Twice day checks as Mystiqview has said. They are such a worry.
  15. Your Vet may be able to show you. I just run my fingers through their coat against the way the hair grows slowly. Make sure finger tips are touching the skin. Check ears, mouth, anus & feet. In between toes etc. Hope this makes sense.
  16. Oh how cute. Puppy was just so gentle. Very sweet :)
  17. My BC boy is on a grain free diet & loves Earthborn Holistic Catch of the Day :)
  18. Gorgeous Stans mum :) Stans face lookes like it has healed well after his dreadful accident. Sounds like Martin likes to live dangerously.... must be annoying for you if he is let wander.
  19. Yes Little Gifts so very true. We just don't have them long enough. Thats why I make the most of every day I have with them.
  20. Beautiful Poms Donatella. My favourite one is dear little Bon with the lovely baby. So sweet :) Sorry HP am of no help as I have had no experience with SWF's but I do have my hands full with a very reactive BC so I totally sympathize with you. Nekhbet is very experienced, you are in very capable hands there.
  21. Both my guys got ticks on them when I used Frontline spot on.
