  1. I haven't read it but sounds like I should. Thanks for the "heads up" that it is on Kindle Sheena. I'm going to buy it now & look forward to reading it :) Kavik, glad to hear you enjoyed Click to Clam as well. I am always ready to learn anything that may benefit reactivity.
  2. Oh bugger I just missed the reply as well then. Thanks anyway for letting me know Inevitablue :)
  3. Oh thats so very sad paddleduck horses are such beautiful creatures. I adore them. Unfortunately like eveything else that involves making money. Horses are just treated like a machine sometimes & if they aren't winning , well they aren't worth feeding Hopefully this, the very ugly side of racing is slowly changing for the horses sake. I missed seeing Landline on Sunday. Would have loved to jave watched that.
  4. Thanks raineth, yes the Vets visit was the icing on the cake for me. I must say the Vet we visit there is amazing. He's very calm with her. I love the way he approachs her. He sits on the floor at first & just talks to me to let Stella gather herself. He really is just wonderful. We visit the area quite often so I have decided to make him Stella Vet of choice whenever possible :) Also to have so many nice coments about owning such well behaved dogs made me glow with pride :) And yes caravaning is so much fun. Probably not for everyone but we dont ruff it. Our van has a toilet/shower & is just like a home on wheels. We only go to places that are dog friendly naturally :)
  5. I have just returned from a 3.5 week caravaning trip up north with my 2 guys. We all had a blast boating, fishing etc. What I am really chuffed about is he excellent behaviour of Sonny & Stella. Sonny has always been a very good boy but thats not to say he isn't worth a mention LOL. I am just so pleased with Stella's ongoing improvement regarding her reactivity has amazed me quite frankly. Previous things that would of set her off in an instant she seems to be coping so much better with now. We even had a Vet's visit while we were up there which while she wasn't over joyed with the idea, she stood still on the Vet's table & was examined without incident. She was quivering with fear at one stage, poor girl, but didn't act upon it nor did she react. I even had more than a few folks comment on just how well behaved my dogs were at the caravan park. One lady didn't even realise we had any dogs staying with us until she saw us leaving as she said she didn't hear them bark once. I still have a long road ahead of me with Stella I understand that but fingers crossed I might just be making some positive progress with her so I'm thrilled :)
  6. Well done hankdog ! Jake has improved so much thanks to your sheer determination & dedication with him. Progress feels wonderful & really does helps build your confidence & that in turn improves your handling skills I have found. Great work :)
  7. Sumo is awesome & I bet he is the best cuddler around LOL He is just gorgeous Cassie. Glad to hear he has recovered from his injury & will be returning to the show ring soon :)
  8. Same. Totally agree. I do keep my back yard gate pad locked anyway at all times. I don't trust anyone. They are just too precious.
  9. Great add ! The expressions on the Boxers face are so funny :)
  10. I can't help you with the breed mix query but she is just lovely. Very sweet little girl !! Congrats to your folks new family addition. Sounds like she has found a wonderful caring forever home.
  11. 100% in aggrence with this...... I would report him without a second thought as well. NO excuses for kicking a dog.... If there is nothing that can be done then so be it but I couldn't witness any act of animal cruelity & not do anything about it. My consience wouldn't allow me to. Poor Daisy girl I hope something can be done to help her very soon before she is more seriousily injured.
  12. Beautuful Clyde.... Lovely shots of very pretty roses & healthy , happy dogs, cats & chickens. Your Maremmas's are to die for Clyde. Also a fan of your animals names. Wayne the cat LOL. Esme, giggle... 2.5 acres would be my dream size backyard. Your living in my Paradise :)
  13. RR is a herbal liquid that has a calming effect. Can be used for both humans & dogs. I have tried this on Stella but had no success while I know of others it has worked a treat for. It depends on the level of anxiety your dogs suffering IMHO. Certainly worth trying. Thunder Shirts do help my girls level of anxiousness if put on well before she starts to get stressed. I really notice a marked difference when she has hers on. Again certainly worth a go :)
  14. This BC Collapse is just so sad I have heard if you clip a double coated breed that they will suffer the heat worse than one that isn't. There coat is there insulator against the elements apparently. How true it is I am unsure. Maybe.
  15. Yes thats wonderful progress Smooch. We just got back from fishing in the boat yesterday with Sonny & Stella when the storm hit. It was horrendeous & caught us by surprise as it came over very quickly.Poor Stella was a mess. So I put her Thunder Shirt on & gave her some meds. I just sat it out with her on her bed in the corner of our closed annex till it passed only to return again a few hours later We aren't making very much progress in this area unfortunately. So we just sit it out together.
  16. Another beautiful vote for your bowing horse nekhbet . Just lovely :) What cant you teach. You make it look & sound so simple when us normal folk struggle, giggle :) Another fan of derailed threads. I tend to learn more from them.
  17. Im not in that state but do hope dear Ava is found safely asap.
  18. Beautiful big boy.... paws crossed he finds a loving forever home :)
  19. Trinabean I' m with you 99%. All of the above apart from the "happy" vet visits. My girl hates the Vet...I too am an over thinker. My 2 beautiful, loyal dogs always remind me to live in the moment. Enjoy every minute just like they do. And yes even the worst day is never really that bad when your got your best friends beside you :) ♥
  20. Yes staffyluv, I do the same with Stella. I block her / stand in front of her or go in between her & what ever she is reacting to. Seems to interupt her focus & lesson her level of excitment most of the time as well.
  21. Daisy t, I'm no expert but have found if you increase the Omega's 3 6 & 9 in your dogs diet along with sardines really helps bring back the lustre to a dry coat. My male BC's coat was looking dull & now he his coat has really improved. A healthy coat comes from within. To help maintain a healthy coat I add a little Plush Puppy Seabreeze Oil to my final rinse. Protects against the elements & reduces static/ spilt ends :)
  22. Lovely.... must put one of those on my ' want' list ;)
