    Georgia

So sorry to read about your Georgia ~ only five years old ~ what a loss.
  2. One of our GWP pups purred like a cat - when sitting on the vet's table for a check up. The vet said in surprise:"Look at this little one!". Yes, he was very special.
  3. I had a good experience with them. My 10 week old pointer pup was transported by air - from Melbourne to Canberra. An overly happy puppy arrived in his cage - shaking his paw with his new owners.
  4. Whom is he lobbying for - Westfield, etc.???????
  5. There is a stunning two year old male black Kelpie at the Forbes pound, urgent for rescue. I never owned a black dog, but I think they are the most beautiful of the lot.
  6. I have the suspicion, that my >8 year long spraying of weeds with Glyphosate - around the edges of paving and around the shrubs in the house yard - where the dogs live, is connected to my pointer having died a miserable death from Lymphoma. http://www.abc.net.au/environment/articles/2012/10/01/3599181.htm
  7. Bindo, all together now. Like our Strolchie and Struppie, plus Merkel and Raudi ~ all four resting together, forever in one heavenly place in the paddock.
  8. It's obvious, they love their stunning boy very much. :D
  9. Hmm, sorry to say, Teddy my rescue Kelpie would not eat anything like this. He would simply walk away.
  10. Wise words from Amax-1. :) In the past, when we lived at Surfside, we had a 10 year old GWP bitch - who was bravely standing behind our house - attacked and ripped by a pit bull type dog, who had come up from the beach. After battling, to get this dog seperated from our female, the young, trendy, longhaired, Greek Canberra coward owner yelled abuse, and ran away, leaving us with the injured pet/trying to find a vet on a public holiday. Good on you, smart ass. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pit_bull
  11. Many of the strays were former family pets, that were abandoned after citizens lost their homes, due to Olympic construction. http://positively.com/2014/02/11/funding-from-sochi-billionaire-saves-strays/
  12. The bravest among them are awarded medals, the unlucky ones will be unrecognisable - after they have been brave, too. Slaves, obey your earthly masters. Watching his georgeous eyes.
  13. Run free ~ Mojo ~ gave your life to protect us humans.
  14. Sweet Tilly love her family.
  15. http://www.watoday.com.au/wa-news/young-boy-seriously-injured-in-dog-attack-in-mandurah-20140117-30zqt.html Maybe it should be remembered that dogs deserve their own private space, and not necessarily have to be thrilled when being visited by children or people who do not live in the household. Mine have a room where they can retreat to - and will not feel intimidated by visitors. Precious souls they are.
  16. We had a ten week old puppy sent with Jetpets - by plane from Melbourne to Canberra. The dear puppy arrived in the crate extremely happy, wanting to shake hands with us - complete strangers to him. Sad to hear about the other incidents.
  17. I must be used to a breeder who does not breed for large numbers/turnover, imports new bloodlines, has Aus. champions/show winners - not a very common breed at any time - to have to flog it.
  18. I suggest you check out the litters listed on DOL for Staffordshire Bull Terriers. Pretty hard to sink lower than that, even by using Gumtree. Noticed that. While there are so many of these pour souls turning up at the pounds, still..................
  19. I think for a registered breeder to have to advertise on Gumtree ~ would mean sinking very low, how could you build up a good reputation selling from a crap website? By advertising on Dolforum ~ you would give a buyer utmost confidence in the quality of your breeding stock, and it would be much more classy. Then again, I am of the old school, I found my fav GWP breeder by word of mouth ~ many years ago, with pups of said place always selling out fast, orders going in before they are ready to go, yes, notification of next litter can also be found on Dolforum.
  20. Easy, being a girl - give her a pretty name. Why settle for anything less?? Starting with which letter do you prefer?
  21. mixeduppup, very attractive and talented dogs there. :) I am blown away, too, by what I see turn up in the pounds, so many well bred/purebred working dog breeds there. Look at the little Kelpie beauty I found at Broken Hill Pound, I did not expect so much loyalty and devotion, it is overwhelming.
  22. I would always rescue a dog from a pound again, If I needed another one. But I prefer certain non aggressive breeds/xbreeds (herding/pointer breeds) of a type that appeals to me, must not over two years of age. I trust the rangers to give a fair description of the dog, and would arrange my life around that dog. I would be fair, and believe every dog deserves a second chance. I have woken up to the fact, that many desirable types of dog can now be found in pounds, it is a smorgasboard ~ one can pick and choose, and most important save a life at the same time. I believe many dogs end up in pounds through no fault of their own, people lose their jobs, change their rental accomodation, split up, move away ~ the dog has no voice/option, and has to go, very easy ~ problem solved! Over the last 30+ years, we bought well bred/beautiful dogs from reg. breeders, unfortunately our present much admired/very much loved dog has HD, now I worry about how his life will turn out. Yes, a certain healthy pound dog for me, anytime. Excuse my explanation in pidgin english.
